About FleckCeeLong ago the Jungles of Iomedae (ahy-OH-meh-day) were any ordinary place, teaming with life and all the hope the world could offer. Times were always tough for those residing in the jungles, then referred to as Dusk Canopy; Tall dark trees towering covering the whole in darkness, and for the Dusk Dwellers inhabiting the area, nasty creatures descending from the abyss poisoning the jungle, leaving an ever obscuring mist. Iomedae was a human, a follower of Aroden, God of Glory, Knowledge, Law, and Protection, Iomedae was a shining warrior of justice, and eventually was raised to godhood by the StarStone test. Her last task as a human, with her Officers of Shinning Mane, was a task she assigned to herself, something to fulfil her glory for Aroden. The cleansing of the Jungle seemed an easy task at first, however, after the dust settled Iomedae saw her losses were great, however, the Dusk Dwellers were gone and their brood mothers all whipped out, and their scourge forever gone from the lands, the corruption, however, would not leave the lands. The Jungles kept the dark mists and noxious atmosphere. When Iomedae ascended, she blessed the Jungle, thus allowing life to bloom once more, and the local tribes re-naming the Jungle. This Blessing had unexpected consequences. The blessed lands led to unexpected Celestial creatures roaming the zone. As well as a terrible prophesy coming from a particularly religious tribe of catfolk. The prophesy stated that Iomedae would be felled back to earth, the Dusk Dwellers Challenging her once again, and forcing the goddess out of the heavens tearing the sky asunder, and leading to a new dark age within the Jungles, and spreading to the whole world. The battle would rage for centuries as the Dusk Dwellers wear away at the goddess and in this the world would never recover for Iomedae was destined to fall, not to be killed, but to become Maiden of Dusk. This all was destined unless one man could face the evil alongside Iomedae, and maintain enough hope and enough faith in their goddess alone, to keep her godhood intact, for the Dusk Dwellers will first snuff out all worship and all belief in Iomedae. This hero alone must maintain their goddess as well as defend and fight along her. If he fails, he must run, something going against their whole religion, and thus abandoning Iomedae altogether. Stripped of everything the hero of legend will retrieve the StarStone, and face the Maiden of Dusk, Bringing her holy nature back, or the world will come to an end as it's known. That, however, is not part of the original prophesy, it is something Fleck's parents always told him as the story foretold only loss and they wanted redemption to be something he stood for, especially being on the bottom of the chain, slaves in the catfolk tribe of Aro. Fleck was born into a tribe of semi nomadic catfolk called the Cee. Flecks parents were believers and worshipers of Iomedae, and told the story of the Prophesy, Iomedae's fall, as a bedtime story, it was Fleck's favorite story. However the normal story ends with the most likely event that Iomedae would fall for this prophesized hero would have to already be a god to uphold the faith and defend against the Dusk Dwellers at the same time, the elders spoke the prophesy every day almost, and would talk of preparing for the end, for the Dusk Dwellers' corruption had been there all along, draining the faith in the people. The family of Eackthloop, Darwin and Faew, Fleck's parents, were some of the few who kept as much of the faith as possible, with their turn on the story of redemption, and thus raising Fleck to have abnormal faith in Iomedae, and resistant to the Dusk's Corruption. Their faith in redemption grew, it had to, when their tribe was moving to another one of their homes, and was attacked by the Aro tribe, wiping out most of the Cee tribe and enslaving those little survivors. Fleck's family was lucky enough, or they decided to see it as luck, to survive the attack becoming slaves to the Aro. Fleck's parents were content, Fleck however wanted to push past slavery by any means, instead of following his parents religious approach, Fleck wanted the redemption in the story and actively sought ways to rise up and slipped into underhanded skills. Picking the locks and disguise into guards and a plan to break his parents out, as well as learning to take the upper hand with surprise tactics. Fleck would revel in studying the patterns of the guards, their patrols and more importantly their traps for runaways. Fleck studied them every chance he got, and learned their placements and craft, Fleck on more than one occasion used deception to lead the slavers into their own traps to cause distractions for some slaves to escape. This gave Fleck the nickname amongst the slaves "The Mane," a term referent to Iomedae's Shinning Mane Officers, a term of redemption and justice. Fleck, however, was born into the Cee clan, a semi nomadic people, the Cee were known for having a couple permanent residences around the jungle and would travel between them for different reasons, seasons, trade, threats, and so on. Fleck was born on the anniversary of the day Iomedae achieved her godhood, in fact Fleck was born the anniversary of the exact second Iomedae got the StarStone, and thus Fleck got his name, meaning Star in celestial. Fleck's parents, Darwin, dad, and Faew, Mother, were followers of Iomedae; the whole tribe was, but Fleck's family was more ingrained into the belief, focusing mostly on the prophesy and belief, even when the unknown Dusk corruption made most of the others disbelieve and state the prophesy of ages would end with the Maiden of Dusk controlling the world, Fleck's parents, did their best to keep hope, and taught Fleck their hope, and that even when the faintest glimmer of light exits, the good can still prevail. Fleck's life in the jungle was an adventure every day he would explore the treetops as high as he could go, wanting to find the light even in the dark of the jungle. Fleck became another hunter gatherer of the tribe, more adept at climbing than most the Cee so able to be part of their higher ambushers, striking prey from above while the ground team distracts the creature. Fleck was trained, well self-trained, and fairly skilled in his role and loved it, however he wanted to adopt it to more, and one day explore beyond the dull jungle he came to know too much about, the world outside had to be more than he could ever imagine. Fleck wanted to adventure the world, but something always kept him in the Jungle, family, strange events, weather, it was like the very world didn’t want Fleck to leave, not yet at least. A few years into slavery Fleck was done with the jungle, his parents were content and, unknown to Fleck, had succumbed to the Dusk corruption taking their faith and more or less their will entirely. Fleck didn't want to leave them but a peculiar thing happened one day. Fleck was on his normal shenanigans, messing with the Aro clan, and doing all he could to feel free. Fleck was watching the patrols, they had changed them again for the third time that day, and Fleck couldn’t accomplish anything when the guards were so high alert. Midday came and Fleck was at a loss for the constant changing patrols when a bad feeling came over Fleck, suddenly Fleck felt something on his back, a cat, with black skin and what almost looked like a mane of a lion, white fur surrounding it's face, similar to Fleck, who had black fur except an odd "Mane" of white around his face. Fleck was surprised this cat got to him without him even noticing, and more importantly, Fleck felt like he knew this cat, almost a connection from a past life. A Feeling of strange emotions that were not Fleck's came over him and he suddenly felt the need to leave immediately, and somehow, maybe with the cats help, since it wouldn’t leave his side, he snuck past this new patrol and fled, ran, as fast as he could towards the edge of the jungle, his destiny, the prophesy, was taking root. |
