The Gory Details:
Against all odds, the group made it through the Wormwood, (with their fair share of VERY close calls), but alas not all would survive the attack on The Man's Promise. Kizh was already had a few hit points down going into the fight, but they had elected to not heal to full ahead of time to conserve very limited healing resources. In the initial approach, Kizh took a hit, and by the time he was on board the Man's Promise, was already low.
He stayed to the backline as any good wizard should, but drew a tad too much attention to themselves with area denial and caught a nasty bolt to the gut that not only put them under, but brought them 1 above their death threshold. Our resident Oracle, Akerraz, was stuck down in the water struggling to get on board, our Alchemist, Bertrand 'Ol' Smokey' Oleander, couldn't get the bleeding under control, and Kizh, still recovering from a nasty bought of Filth Fever, could not make the Con check and slipped away.
