Grand Lodge

1d20 ⇒ 12

It astonishes me how often a combat ends with a Magus critting.

Grand Lodge

With a quick move, Fitz runs up and smacks the standing mook. "I had hoped to not kill any of the pirates that might still work for their boss. But it seems you are all traitors. Alas, I have no remorse for that."

With that he smashes the man in the face with the tonfa.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
1d6 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3

Readied Defenses:

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Grand Lodge

"Just goes to show that you can't trust anyone these days. Do we go back and feign ignorance long enough to catch her unaware or do we storm the ship? If we go with the former, then we might be able to convince the rest of the crew to side with us...if they aren't with her on the double cross."

Grand Lodge

Not sure what I need to do to have Fitz cleared of webs he got hit with. Let me know and I'll roll as appropriate, but that would almost certainly be the bulk of my actions.

Grand Lodge

Once again, he moves forward, preparing for anything that might come his way.

Readied:
Attack any aggressive creature that comes into melee.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
1d4 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Defensive Aids:

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Grand Lodge

As he pushes forward, he stands at the ready. "Stand with me boys and I'll keep you in the clear!"

Readied action:
If the enemy comes close to old Fitzy, he will quickly strike it with the tonfa.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
1d6 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Defensive rolls:

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Grand Lodge

"That's just lovely...we are entering the worship area of an old demon lord...but this isn't the work of her followers. This is going to be a fun little dive."

Grand Lodge

Looking things over, Fitz tries to recognize it...

Knowledge(religion): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Grand Lodge

"Tik...you and I can move up...once we figure out what is going on..."

Grand Lodge

Sure thing...Fitz, Tik, Turac, and then Poz?

Grand Lodge

I failed to actually pick languages, I believe. So for the purposes of this...nope (Nor do I think I would)

Slipping his weapon back away, he keeps his shield out, just in case, and nods as they gather all the details. "This is going to be interesting."

Grand Lodge

Stepping out of the way of the fangs, he returns with a quick strike of his small staff-like weapon.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
1d4 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Defenses:

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Grand Lodge

Taking a quick strike at the spider, he decides to go a bit more on the aggressive and strikes as best he can.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
1d4 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Then he quickly steps back to guard Tik.

Opp Defenses:

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

AC: 18

Grand Lodge

Once again, Fitz maintains his defensive postures, not willing to step away from his friend. He attacks the orange spider in his defensive posture.

1d20 ⇒ 2
1d4 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Then he maintains his guard over his friend.

Bodyguard Opps:

1d20 ⇒ 11
1d20 ⇒ 2
1d20 ⇒ 12
1d20 ⇒ 5

Grand Lodge

Once again, Fitz moves forward, this time setting up near his companion and preparing to attack any spider that comes near enough for him to do so.

Readied Attack:

1d20 ⇒ 11
1d4 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Current AC: 21

If any enemies attack Fitz's companions, he will step to defend them.

Attack of Defensive Opportunity:

1d20 ⇒ 18 Only the first attack will offer a +4 AC against it
1d20 ⇒ 3
1d20 ⇒ 4
1d20 ⇒ 4

Grand Lodge

Fitz rushes forward and takes a defensive posture.

Ready an attack for any aggressive creature towards me or my companions. Attack is readied defensively/combat expertise.

1d20 ⇒ 7
1d4 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3

AC will be 21

Grand Lodge

I'm practically last and since there are casters ahead of me, I wanted them to get off actions first.

Grand Lodge

"Shall I lead the way?" the short warrior says as he looks back to his companions.

Grand Lodge

"I don't like this...lads...stay close." Trick follows the light, moving over to the ship as he looks back to the rest. Tonfa and shield out and at the ready as soon as he doesn't need a free hand.

Grand Lodge

"So it would seem. Is it salvageable for you or are we not going to worry about such things now?" he asks as he gathers the rest of his things, getting prepared to disembark with the rest of the group.

Grand Lodge

Seeing that they lack intention of stopping, he fires his crossbow at the enemy directly across from him.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
1d6 ⇒ 5

"I warned you. Your attack failed, surrender or die!" He calls out as he reloads his crossbow.

Grand Lodge

Dropping his tonfa, Trick pulls out his crossbow and loads it, spending a good six seconds doing so, but at that point, he has his loaded crossbow ready. "Lads, Harry ain't gonna be the only death unless you lay down arms. You attacked us, his death is on you."

No action economy to intimidate, so I'll leave it to their morale and hopefully win on that one. Also, baby is born. Mom and baby are healthy, looking to be discharged early.

Grand Lodge

Fitz's unborn baby is jerking his chain quite a bit. We MAY be heading to the hospital soon however, as it is now increasing in speed and strength. We are almost down to every 4 minutes, so we shall see.

The halfling swings his tonfa at the man before him, defending himself as he does so.

Combat Expertise/Fighting Defensively: 1d20 ⇒ 18
1d4 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3

Current AC is 21

Defensive Opps:

As before, if anyone attacks someone that Trick is close to, aid for +4 AC

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

"Poz, keep with me!" With his words, he steps a bit closer to the tengu companion.

Grand Lodge

"Tikrit, drop the one in front of you, then focus on the one before me. I'll help where I can!"

Note, I added some colored dots to the targets so we can say which one we are targeting

Grand Lodge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Nah, we got around 40 weeks warning.

Grand Lodge

Looks like my wife is having this baby. Will likely be out the next 24 or so.

Grand Lodge

Moving quickly, the halfling slips between his companions, situating himself so that he can defend them both (between Poz and Tik). He pulls out his tonfa as he moves and then once there, he draws his shield. all actions used to do all of that

If anyone beside him is attacked:

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

If one of his companions is attacked, he uses an attack of opportunity to defend them. They will receive a +4 armor class as an assist.

"Stand with me, lads, and I will keep you safe."

Grand Lodge

"That is a pleasant change of pace. Usually our presence is seen with disdain, if not downright hostility. Thank you, Captain Riverbane." He bows to her before turning to his companions and beginning their conversations of travel. "When we come into combat...are there any specific tactics that you lads have that I should be aware of? I tend to want to stay close, but most things won't see me as much of a threat. Though some might see me as a snack."

Grand Lodge

"Well, lads, I feel like I am a bit under trained. I do not know the mystic arts...yet. I tend to help my companions find the right spot to strike and help defend them."

With that, he pulls out a short l-shaped rod that looks like it can be used to defend as well as attack.

"Name is Fitzpatrick...you can call me Fitz or Trick. Pleasure...," he says to them all with a nod.

Grand Lodge

Doubt it matters, since there are likely no Sczarni at the table ;)

Grand Lodge

I posted with my level 2 Lore Warden. He is not MUCH of a fighter though. Any of the crew Sczarni? It is rather important for some of my abilities. (I'll key in his character sheet in a bit, maybe as late as tonight as I have to work, but he's got the bodyguard feat, helpful trait, and kin guardian trait). Shifty what is your opinion of this (I have been told it is up to the GM because there is no ruling on it, but my VC loved the idea, where as the one of the local VLs did not)

Kin Guardian let's you use Aid Another to defend a family member at a +2 bonus. Sczarni refer to all other members of the faction as cousins and view them all as part of the family. If my halfling is defending a Scarni would it be a +4 or a +6?

Grand Lodge

The halfling gives Riverbane a smile and a wink, then turns back to The Black Marquis, "You said one of the crew escaped...what made him special to escape? Or is he perhaps a plant sent by your enemies to throw you off of them attacking you?" The halfling has a hard time trusting people as so many of his companions are less than trustworthy.
