Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

The guards have stormed in. What happens next?

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Fist will attempt to use some water from the waterskin in his adventurer's kit to help wake the people up. He will also work to untie them starting with the gnome.

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Fist, with typical Half-Orc rage issues (he hasn't been to too many anger management courses), smashes his Maul a couple of times into the fence at the same time screaming after Rivereye, 'May the Wyrm of the Deeps find you in your bed and devour you and all your git for a dozen generations!'

Fist then takes a moment to use his high perch to look out upon what has become of his beloved High Pass.

Perception d20+0 : 1d20 ⇒ 17

After glancing around, Fist will attempt to charge down the ramp yelling, 'He's getting away. We've got to go. He's getting away.'

Until he runs into the Half-Orcs and Dwarves.

Not sure if this counts as a rest point and if surges can be spent. If so, then Fist would like to spend a surge to top himself up to full HP.

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Free Action - Nature's Font - not needed.

Quick note on order of events.
Gomi moved to C7 >> Triggered Opportunity Attack from Wisp on Gomi >> Triggered Fist's Interupt Action Warden's Fury damaging Wisp >> Gomi took his Attack which Critically Hit Wisp >> Wisp reached Zero Hit Points >> Wisp exploded >> Gomi dropped to the ground.

Which is important for...

Minor Action - Fist points at Gomi with his left hand while holding the Maul with his right.

"He did it."

Double Move Action - Choosing double Run Action so granting Combat Advantage (and -5 to attack) till my next turn and getting +2 Speed to each of my move actions. Speed 6 + 2 Run x2 Double Move = 16 spaces of movement.

"Bloody Gnomes should all come with bells and collars."

Not sure on the path at the top of the ramp but will try to get beside Rivereye and use Free Action of Nature's Wrath to Mark Rivereye.

Initial path of move will be E9 to F10 (1 square) > F10 to G11 (2 squares ) > G11 to F11 (2 squares) > F11 to E10 (2 squares) > E10 to D10 (2 squares) > D10 to C9 (2 squares) > C9 to B8 (2 squares) = 13 squares of travel unless there is a quicker route; this leaves 3 squares of travel.

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Ya see!

This is the problem with too much book learning.

It has ya thinking when ya should be thumping.

:D

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Fist watched Arrika swing the halberd and threaten Rivereye. He was surprised that he didn't smell more urine leaking from the gnomes pants. He bet that Arrika could have gotten a dragon to hand over it's hoard with that threat.

Fist hears Torrent yell at him, "Don't let him escape. We need the case!"

Like he was planning on throwing the gnome a wedding feast, yeash.

Before Fist could do or say something a column of flame appeared and blasted Arrika.

Just like a Stubby Longnose to pull some backstabbing magic when cornered. They were as bad as badgers when cornered.

With Arrika dazed it was up to Fist to teach the Gnome some manners.

But how to do it without breaking him too badly. And who was Larion? Was he another of the Stubby's magical minions?

Free Action - Font of Life - no change

Free Action - Nature's Wrath - Mark Rivereye

GM Question:
Not sure on the size of the Wisp's Aura so if Fist is inside the Aura then please apply the appropriate -2 modifier.

"After hurting Arrika, I'd like nothing more than to thump you but Torrent says we need you so..."

Move Action - shift E11 to D11

Standard Action - Bull Rush on Rivereye attempting to push Rivereye to E9 and off the stairs.

Bull Rush Str vs For +4 Str +2 Combat Advantage +0 Weapon : 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 2 = 25

Minor Action - Insight Check +2 (Fist isn't the smartest card in the deck) to attempt to figure out what is going on. : 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Immediate Interupt (prepared aciton) - Will use Warden's Grasp (marked target) if Rivereye attempts to attack anyone that does not include Fist. Will work to Pull Rivereye towards Fist as long as it does not aid Rivereye in getting away from the combat.

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Works for me. Go Arrika!

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

HP 27/33, Surges 10/12, AP 0, Enc 1/1, Daily 0/1

Fist looks up to see Rivereye fleeing up the stairs along with several of the Resistance chasing after him.

"Why do these things always happen when you are looking for a privy?" he mumbles.

Fist looks to Arrika for what to do and sees her eyes direct him to get a move on and go do something.

"Fine, fine, I'll go fetch the rabbit," he says as he lumbers into motion.

Free Action - Font of Life - no change

Seeing the lightning discharge, Fist says, 'Pelor's Hairy butt this is going to hurt.'

Minor Action - Ready Maul

Move Action - Speed 6. G8 to G9, G9 to G10, G10 to H11 (2 squares), H11 to G11 (2 squares).

Standard Action - Charge Action - Modified by Half-Orc Swift Charge for +2 Speed and Powerful Charge for +2 to hit with either Attack or Bull Rush. Choosing Bull Rush at end of charge.

Charge Move with Speed 8 is G11 to F11 (2 Squares), Leaping with Athletics Roll to attempt to miss the Lightning (not sure this will work but Fist would try anyways) from F11 through E11 to D11 (4 Squares).

Leap (Long Jump - part of move action) - Running start from moving H11 to F11 so divide by 5 for squares of distance. Vertical is 1/4 of Horizontal distance.

Athletics +4 Str +4 Trained -1 Armour = +8 : 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

If Fist gets hit by the damage then do any rolls on his behalf and assign damage and he would still attempt to Bull Rush if consious and capable of movement.

Charge finish with Bull Rush against Rivereye (not attacking for damage as Fist still don't know that we don't need him alive).

Bull Rush Rivereye in D10 to E9 to push him off the stairway.

Bull Rush is Str Vs Fort +4 Str +2 Powerful Charge +0 Weapon : 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 2 = 18

No action allowed after Charge otherwise I would use a Free action to Mark Rivereye with Nature's Wrath

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Just a clarification on the map. Rivereye is at the bottom of a ramp headed upwards? The other ramp on the map to the left side is a ramp going downwards?

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Initiative +2 +2 Arrika : 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 2 = 7

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Fist is happy that Kiki was re-united with his family. The Rags were getting ready to break up enough families.

"Unfortunately, as Grandfater Mountain said to the stone cutter. You can carve stone from me all the days of your life and I will still be a mountain. That is why Grandmother created the sun to tell her children when the work day was done.

We could spend our lives trying to solve the problems that the Rags are causing but I agree, we need to finish our mission first."

When Fist gets to the Depository with the others, he lets the better wordsmiths take over the conversation and just keeps to the back. He is pleased to see Dwarfs and Orcs working together. Grandmother would be pleased.

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Fist tries to remember what else he knows of Brother Weasel.

There was something that his nannie used to say on all the stories. It was usually how Brother Weasel got caught.

Then Fist remembered.

Brother Weasel was always getting caught or in trouble because of his curiosity.

But what did Fist have that Brother Weasel might be curious to investigate? Fist looked over his stuff that mostly consisted of hides, his pack, and his adventurer's kit. Then he remembered that he had a few gold and silver in his pouch tucked to the inside of his belt.

Fist dug out a piece of silver and rubbed it for a bit to make sure it was shiney. Fist then positioned it towards the top of the grate to make it catch the light and possibly cast a dot of light on the ground.

It was like fishing making it dance and move the dot of light to see if he could get Brother Weasel to take the bait.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

"Kiki, you should be ashamed of how you are making your brother worry. Now, come out of there and come home."

Nature +5 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

"I wonder if Willy knew of these sewer grates and where they might have led. Do you think they might lead somewhere out of Gate's Pass and that any of us could fit inside of them?"

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Waiting for reply in PbP Discussion thread on the nature of the temple and religon to better role-play this bit. I will check again tonight after I get home from work which will be 10 or 11 PM EST

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Fist watches the pair of Thom and Audric work to relax and coax the ferret.

He starts to dig through his adventures kit of supplies and see if he has any food that might be enticing for the ferret. He also looks around if there might be anything easily caught that could be a suitable meal.

"Brother Weasel is said to like fish but there isn't much like that around Gate Pass. I hope he is willing to understand that this is the best that I have to offer."

Nature check again maybe with a modifier if I can locate some enticing food. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

"Hmm, Brother Weasel you say...I might be able to help."

"Brother Weasel is a tricky one and he knows the safe places to hide. Let's see what we can find."

Attempting Nature Check +51d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Fist casts around with his eyes and years but he knows this isn't his best skill.

He'd probably have been a better rancher if he could have kept track of the animals on his farm better.

Instead, he tended to lose track of the animals and it wasn't till they started bleating that he realized there was a problem.

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

27/33 HP, 10/12 Surges

Fist rubs his bruised shoulders.

"Bah, dragons know better than to travel in these parts. Grandfather Eagle rules these heights. Great Uncle Wyrm tried to catch Grand father Eagle but he couldn't build his home high enough.

You do know the story don't you?"

Fist looks at the others expecting their understanding.

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

"Well, there are rumours that the one temple was sacred to the Resistance but I still like my idea of putting a message in a pot and having the priest's help us.

We also still get some sticks if we wanted to pretend to be wizards?"

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Fist looks around and notes the halfling is missing. It wasn't surprising to Fist, halflings were cousins of gnomes in his book. They were hardly what you would call a trust worthy race.

"Typical. When a house is on fire there are always some people that you can count on to be at the front door.

Gnomes and Halflings, plenty of talk but not much lifting."

Fist follows along where the others lead.

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

kk.

"I know you can't save every seed in the wood but Grandmother teaches that if you don't save a few then there won't be anything to plant next year."

Fist assists Thoms efforts.

"Besides, I ain't no use when it comes to talking to gnomes. Far as I'm concerned they're one step above gophers. Constantly digging holes under trees. Making a life out of poping out of places and going boo.

It ain't Orc and I don't go trust'n people that don't stand up and shake your hand."

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

I take it that we are in a bit of a skill challenge with some vingnette scenes? Just asking to clarify the amount of role-playing and roll-playing desired.

Fist looks at the situation and realizes that he chose well when he carried his climbing kit with him into the city.

"Normally, I don't carry my climbing kit with me in the city. Mostly, need it for getting goats down from cliff sides. I swear, goats are dumber then cats. Always climbing up some where and then bleating their fool heads off when they forget how to get back down.

"Just lucky I guess that I expected trouble with the Rags on our doorstep. I got a grapple and good bit of rope that will sure enough reach that window.

"I can toss it up there unless there is someone here with a better plan or a better aim when it comes to tossing grapples."

Fist will listen if anyone else has a plan or wants to make use of setting the grapple.

if there are no other plans or grapple users:

Fist will use Athletics +8 to attempt the rescue of the woman using the grapple in the climber's kit to set a grapple and a rope. If there is a source of water then he will wet the rope first and his clothes but will proceed without the water if there isn't a suitable supply.

if needed Athletics roll1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

willing to spend a healing surge if needed to succeed on a failure and if any other rolls are needed then Arcesilaus can make them on Fist's behalf

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

"Well, Fist is a traditional Orc name. You don't last long with a name like Rosebud."

Fist heads on now to try and catch up with the rest of the group.

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

"My daddy says 'There's always room on the mountain for one more.'"

Fist turns to the man.

"We're leaving the city and if you want to come with me my back is strong and wide enough to take a few more."

Fist says to the others,

"Keep going. I'll catch up as I would only frighten someone pint sized with my good looks."

If man wants to go with Fist:

Fist will offer to carry the children to help the man keep up with the rest of the group.

"We can leave you and your family at a farm outside the city. I know most of the ranchers around here and get you a place to stay till the worst is over. I also know a few caves outside the city that the Rags won't likely check.

Athletics +8 if Fist needs to carry and try and keep up.
Endurance +9 if Fist needs to see if he can avoid spending a Healing Surge from tiring.
Arcesilaus can make the rolls if necessary on Fist's behalf.

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Fist not being very streetwise will trust the wisdom of the others to guide the way through Gate Pass by the quickest route.

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Currently 20/33 HP with 3 Temp HP

Thom has a good plan if we have time to declare a short rest and I would like to spend two healing surges for 2x8 HP.

New totals would be;
33/33 HP with 0 Temp HP
10/12 Surges
AP: 0
Daily: used

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Fist goes to slam the Scout with his Maul but pulls back.

"Ahh, Pelor's Shiney Arse!

"I really should thump you but it ain't no fit way for people to die roasting to death in a burning building."

Fist points to the Scout's companions with the butt end of his Maul.

"Help me lug them outside so they don't roast to death in here and you can go find yourself a healer to patch up that head of yours."

Fist will keep his Mark (re-applying as required) on the Scout in case he chooses to get 'upity' or run off.

Fist works to move the bodies of the minions, downed scout, and thug out of the burning building with the aid of the surrendered scout.

While he works, Fist mutters, 'My daddy used to say don't complain that the bull don't give milk.'

Fist will do what he needs to do to help the injured get out and get stablized. Fist has Athletics +8 and Endurance +9 for doing this sort of work. If Arcesilaus needs to make a roll then go ahead.

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Well my last hit on the scout did 14 and that bloodied him and this one did 12 so there is a good chance that I will be moving.(no move if Scout still on his feet)

Ram Form gives Speed of 8 currently but only need to go to C5 to C6 to D7 to E8.

Free Action = Nature's Wrath to apply Mark

passing on the minor action and finishing the turn.

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

HP update: 29/33 previous with 3 temporary. Took 12 damage from Scout (my new pal). Leaves 20/33 HP and 12/12 Surges. Still not bloodied so no Half-Orc Resiliance yet.

Fist takes the cuff across the face and just grins at the Scout.

"Heh, heh, that's it little skulker. No more fancy pop rocks or bolts in the back. It's blade on hammer as the spirits intended."

Free Action = Font of Life - no saves required.

Standard Action = 'Strength of Stone' At-Will Warden Attack 1.

Push 1 from Fearsom Ram on Hit; same trouble as last round no real place to push the cretin

If Fist hits the Scout hard enough then he will take a move action to bother the Thug and Mark the Thug; otherwise, Fist will stay put and Mark the Scout.

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Spending the Action Point. I can't be sure that I put the one scout down and out and I have the crossbow one to worry on as well.

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Fist's Ancestors aid him in shrugging off the thundering clap. They remind him that a Warden doesn't fall while the community is in danger.
