Liberty's Edge

Hi everyone! When the occultist came out for Occult Adventures, I was really excited and ready to try it out. Right now I'm trying to plan out a human melee occultist build wielding a scimitar, but I'm a little stuck on what to do after the initial few levels.

As of right now, I was thinking of grabbing:
Transumation/ Necromancy at Level 1 w/ Necromantic Servant
Improved Initiative/Extra Mental Focus
Illusion at Level 2
The Invisibility Focus Power at Level 3
Power Attack at Level 3

with a stat array of 18 INT/ 14 STR/ 13 CON/ 12 DEX/ 12 WIS/ 8 CHA

I can see how at early levels, the bane from legacy weapon plus legacy blade and the transmutation resonance power could add up to a lot of damage. But after this initial base, I'm not really sure what to build in terms of feats or focus powers. Is there any way to make an melee occultist that is as strong in combat as a ranged occultist at levels 8-10?

Liberty's Edge

Right now I'm trying to build a Warlock Vigilante based around using Mystic Bolts, and have been going through the forums to see which feats are useful. As far as I can tell, Deadly Aim and Rapid-Shot are not applicable, and neither would be two-weapon fighting unless one set of attacks is made with a different weapon. Point-blank shot and Precise Shot, on the other hand, are useful I believe, as would be Snap-Shot Chain and Weapon Focus (Mystic Bolt).

Does anyone know of other feats that would be useful for a Mystic Bolt Warlock (looking at building a level 6 warlock) or have ideas for level 2 or 6 talents that would complement Mystic Bolt? And when building a mystic bolt warlock, is going straight bolt best, or would using TWF with another weapon yield more damage?

Liberty's Edge

Does anyone know when the Ultimate Intrigue Open Playtest starts? I'm thinking about playing the vigilante playtest version in my group's game, and I was wondering when it would be released.

Other than the River Kingdoms, what locations in Golarion do you guys think would be good places for a kingdom-building campaign? As of right now, I'm inclined to think of places without much central authority, and lots of room to expand, but also with a few neighboring city-states or even small countries close by. Varisia and the Mwangi Expanse were my first thoughts, but I'm interested to hear what you guys have to say.
