Name: Blixa Gratzuldash
Race: Gnome
Class: Ranger
Favoured Enemy: Humanoid (Goblinoid)

Blixa is missing a few cards from his Harrow deck.
He's spent the better part of his life recently obsessing over ways to kill goblins. It's become an art form. His weapons of choice are "Bowser's Revenge" and "Pokey". "Bowser's Revenge" is a dogslicer that he renamed and repurposed after taking it off a dying goblin. It has a picture of a dog's face growling on one blade face and the other face has a dog lapping up what would be blood from the blade edge. "Pokey" is a light pick that he uses in his offhand. Blixa collects goblin ears, tans them and displays them from a ring on his belt. He has nearly a dozen currently. He usually writes some humourous quip on the ear leather to offend other goblins even more - they love that. The concentration of goblin tribes near Sandpoint led Blixa to use it as a base of operations for his artistry. Blixa's not really certain why he hates goblins so much, certainly all gnomes despise goblins a little, but Blixa's hatred for them is extreme ragekill. He didn't always feel this way towards them, in fact it developed relatively recently a few years back.
Blixa was near a runewell of wrath when it activated and it transformed his normal feelings for goblins to that of a murderous obsessive wrath of them.

Crunch to follow.

Trillik's Backstory:
Trillik was raised in (and under) the land of Rahadoum. He left his warren in search of adventure, wealth and power. He ventured to the port city of Azir alone and discovered that one could make a tidy profit selling (highly illegal) religious texts and artifacts to the locals (they didn't even mind dealing with a ratfolk) . Business was good until he was captured in a sting. His contacts turned him in to save themselves (he found out that a ratfolk makes a convenient scapegoat in human-centric society). After being found guilty, Trillik was sentenced to death, but his sentence was commuted to life imprisonment. A healthy bribe later (his entire savings), he found himself on the next ship to The Shackles with a warning that if he were to ever return to Azir that he would be put to death as an escaped convict. His ship arrived in Port Peril and Trillik went about finding a way to accumulate wealth (he didn't really seem out of place). He overheard some locals speaking about a tavern called the Formidably Maid where one could make all sorts of illicit business contacts so he went there to check it out. Uncertain what transpired after he arrived there, he knows that he woke up on a ship by the smell of the sea air and the rocking of the waves.

Trillik's Appearance/Personality:
Four feet tall and barely 80 pounds, Trillik isn't a threatening presence. In fact, you might even miss him as he often keeps to the shadows. If you do get close enough, you'll note a glint of gold in his smile and a hoop of brass through his left ear. He wears loose robes with lots of pockets to stash merchandise and useful items. His beady brown-eyed gaze belies the inner strength and shrewdness of a hardened venture capitalist crossed with a jihad fanaticist. He doesn't seem threatening, but it'd be a mistake to underestimate him.

Would a Ratfolk Rogue (Smuggler) be acceptable?

If so, meet Trillik.

Male Human Sorceror 1

Festric jumps in trying to flank one of the attackers on Sturk and grows claws and attacks.

Male Human Sorceror 1

By the lords! What a fray!

Male Human Sorceror 1

"I'm all for doing what needs to be done and the rest of you are with me on this, right?"

Thought: These guys might just as easily kill us and playing along to give us the option to make an escape at the earliest possible convenience if necessary seems the practical response. We can always leave later if the morality can't be stomached.

Male Human Sorceror 1

"They likely could have killed us where we stood had Ardent wanted them to."

Male Human Sorceror 1

"Or alternatively, Finch was playing us false by sending us after your man, knowing that he'd attack us...
Finch does seem the type to do that."

Male Human Sorceror 1

"Perhaps your man was playing you false?
was his loyalty to you beyond question?"

Male Human Sorceror 1

"Who said anything about spiders?"

Thinks to himself Has he been watching us for some time? or is he just making an educated guess?

Male Human Sorceror 1

Festric nods his head as if to say I'm ready

Male Human Sorceror 1

"Let me survey the area for any emanations of magic."

Festric casts Detect Magic and checks out the cottage for any magical auras.

"Also, we can knock on the door from 25 feet away. I have an incantation that will let us do it from a safe distance if necessary."

Male Human Sorceror 1

Festric follows Sturk down the path he's clearing through the brush.

Male Human Sorceror 1

hmm isn't there some part of giant spiders valuable for spell reagents or magic item creation...if the pieces are still intact...
Knowledge(Arcana) 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Festric gets out a magnifying glass and starts inspecting the spider corpse.
Appraise 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 2 = 20

Male Human Sorceror 1

Festric shifts moving (1 square) around the spider in an attempt to flank it.

"Die foul filth!"

Festric swings with his claws trying to penetrate the thick shell of the spider.

First swing 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Second swing 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Male Human Sorceror 1

Festric's hands shimmer with a copper shine as his hands suddenly morph into claws and he charges forward attempting to claw the spider.

It's a primary natural attack so I get full attack bonus and don't provoke AoO. If I take a full attack action I get two claw attacks. Not sure if I can charge and get two attacks though
First attack
To Hit 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 + 2 = 24 Damage 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Crit confirm 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 + 2 = 15
Second attack (if applicable)
To Hit 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 + 2 = 16 Damage 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Male Human Sorceror 1

maybe try here?

Male Human Sorceror 1

Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Initiative 1d20 ⇒ 4

Festric looks around sensing a disturbance in the air.

Male Human Sorceror 1

it was in italics to indicate it was a thought, but sure we'll play along with it being said aloud

Seeing the calm return to Sturk's face, Festric takes a moment to right the wrong he did.

Having an enraged half-orc mad at you isn't wise

"I apologize Sturk. It was a joke. I meant no offense. I'm not your enemy. By the way, that cloak really suits you."

Male Human Sorceror 1

There once was a fellow named Sturk,
who jerked and he jerked and he jerked,
Festric did ask, 'what's in the flask?'
he replied, 'naught but the juice of my dirk.'

Festric snickers quietly while trying to avoid looking at Sturk

Male Human Sorceror 1

we...

Male Human Sorceror 1

"Well I could sure use the 25... so if there's still a chance of getting that I'm all for it. Let's go to Grima's place."

Male Human Sorceror 1

"If anyone needs a heal, I have this."

Festric starts shuffling through his backpack and pulls out a wand.

"My parents gave it to me before I arrived in Selsey and before the whole goblin fiasco. Sorry if I was holding out on you all before, but I didn't know we'd be in this for the long haul."

Wand of Cure Light Wounds

"What do think the odds are now of Sticky paying up?"

Male Human Sorceror 1

Smiting from the welt forming on his arm.

Festric gesticulates and incants and suddenly an orb of acid flys from him towards Blackie.

"Alright, the hard way it is then."

Ranged touch attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 includes bard performance, does not include perception penalty (if still applicable)

and the orb whizs by Blackie into the bramble.
"Gods!"

Male Human Sorceror 1

Festric stands at A4
Initiative
1d20 + 0 ⇒ (4) + 0 = 4

Festric looks around for cover to move to and then shouts.

"You realize that we just saved Selsey from a goblin threat.
What chance do you think you have against us?
Give up now and we'll go easy on you!"

Intimidate 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Male Human Sorceror 1

To the discussion, "25 pieces to deliver a box. Sounds good to me. Even if there might be a spot of trouble, we can handle it. Let's do it."

Male Human Sorceror 1

Sticky likely knows who we are from our exploits with the goblins.
Raising Sturk's unfinished ale in sticky's direction, "Yes, do join some local heroes in revelry."

Festric pauses, then continues

"To be honest, we are in need of employment, we certainly can't rest on our laurels, nor will those laurels feed us for long and a gent such as yourself might know where we could find some means?"

Male Human Sorceror 1

"Knew him? I still know him. He's still alive. I don't rightly know how old he is, but he said he was born during the Second Tordren War and that was around what three or four hund..." Festric downs his ale and regards the slumped half-orc snoring loudly on the floor.

A song in Elvish escapes Festric's lips.
Perform 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
A reasonable rendition it is too.
"Kellahath in nalla matt o lass.."

Elven Speakers:
"The youngest smile at the stars..."

I've had enough ale..
ho.. what happened to blacky?

Festric looks to the door just in time to see it close.

Male Human Sorceror 1

"Cast spells? For me, it's in my blood. My great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great...Is that nine "greats"?... grandfather taught me. He told my parents that I had the gift," responding to Daven's question, his voice elevated a touch from the amount of ale in his system.

Male Human Sorceror 1

LOL @ Sturk+Theriandas
Can't stop him when he's on a roll...

At Daven, "Thanks for the drink. Enjoy the show", gesturing at Sturk.

Male Human Sorceror 1

Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Festric sitting towards the centre of the inn (D6) is observing the general mood of the crowd and responds to Sturk.
"Sturk, with you around... deaths aren't mysterious", says Festric. Gods, I hope this ugly mug doesn't take that the wrong way. "but seriously, while I was outside Wrigg's Boats & Tackle..." Festric's voice lowers, "I heard folk talkin' and they were speakin' plainly about a number of townsfolk that passed on, and by their tones it didn't sound like consumption. They were scared."

Festric downs his ale and says in a loud voice, "Another ale, kind barkeep. I've not drunk enough to drown the smell of my compatriot and while you're at it, get another for him too", nodding at Sturk.

He then whispers to Sturk, "indeed, boney could use a sandwich."

When the ales arrive, Festric asks the person who brought them surrepticiously "Do you know who the pair in the corner are? My friend here likes his meat a little on the agèd, boney side." pausing just a moment to leave doubt in his/her mind
Bluff 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Gods with that roll, the servant probably thinks Sturk really is a cannibal

then continuing "just kidding...but seriously who are they?" as he passes the servant 2 gp "keep the change."
Diplomacy
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Gods, a nice bit of music would liven this place up

Male Human Sorceror 1

"Something's afoul hereabouts what with all these mysterious deaths."
Something needs to be done here, but I'm not wanting to draw their ire on just myself, perhaps the sentiment is shared?
@DM: consider this either a practice post or use it to help set the scene
