Backstory

Fenran has always had an above average interest in the ninja tool called the shuriken. Many of his assignments for redacted were carried out swiftly and silently by a single, well placed shuriken bringing an evil man or beast to a quick end without ever revealing his attacker. His last assignment was working as a counter-agent, defending a female dignitary from enemy assassins. During the course of the mission the dignitary told him stories about all the traveling she did and Fenran became enthralled. His entire life had been focused towards completing his missions and bringing honor to his academy, but now he realized there was more to life than simply following orders.
Soon after Fenran successfully escorted the dignitary home, he sent a messenger back to the academy informing them of his success while also letting them know he was taking a...leave of absence. With nothing more than that he set out to explore the world, an exercise he had been denying himself for many years.
