Hi all,

I've updated the Player's Companion to more easily allow user-submitted content (feats, classes, skills, spells, etc), along with lots of fixes and some other features.

Feature: Logs now have a "link" link that will take you to the hosted log entry for easy sharing.

The version linked below is in development (with lots of a logging and no optimization), so it will probably only work on a real computer, but if you have a minute to enter your character data, I'd appreciate any bugs/features/criticism.

It's open source and built on 3.5 rules:

PS Two non-discoverable details on the opts->Options dialog:
1) you must enter an user key (any string) to distinguish your character on the server. Otherwise it will only be available locally.
2) Enter "phb2" (no quotes) in the Extended Data field to load Player's Handbook 2 feats and spells.

PPS If it dies completely and you're curious, you can send me the error by:
(in Chrome/Safari/WebKit-based) Right-click->Inspect Element, then click the console button
(in Firefox) Get the Firebug plugin and click the Console tab.
(in IE) I don't use IE.

Thanks to everyone for the great suggestions, esp. from the Mormon perspective.

The Paizo modules look great. It's been years since I ran a campaign, so I like the hand-holding of a pre-baked adventure.

As for handling age/Evil issues, you're correct I should just ask the parents what they want the boundaries to be. Growing up in a religious household myself, I guess I'm a little shy of the conversation at all.

Player's Companion - Character sheet for iPhone-sized devices

I've recently started playing again after a 30 year(!) hiatus. My nephews have expressed interest in playing a game, and I think I could convincingly GM for a group of 10 year olds.

The twist is that these guys are Mormons (or rather, their parents are devout), so any kind of Undead (b/c of religion) or Great Evil (b/c of age) is probably off limits.

I've googled around for a good kid's campaign, but have not seen what I'm looking for. Keep on the Borderlands would be perfect, except for the "objectionable" material that's really central to the campaign.

Any ideas?

Todd

Hi all,

I wrote a web-based character manager for iPhone-sized screens (to learn Javascript). There are a million character sheets out there, but I'd appreciate any feedback I can get.
