Felixus is a tall gaunt man. He has a long thin face, and thin stretched lips. His hands are constantly covered in ink stains, and these stains always transfer to his white robe, causing a multitude of grey stains on it. There is frequently ink marks on his temple, which his where he rubs when he thinks hard.

Personality & Motivation

Felixus's personality is melancholy. He is usually despondent at the world, and thinks that the universe is inherently unfair. This does not make him depressed, or suicidal, but rather gives him a melancholy sense of humor, and a pessimistic outlook, particularly in guessing the future actions of others.

Felixus has two primary motivations. His first motivation is that he wants to believe in his deity. He sees lots of faith in Darlen, he sees lots of faith in other gods, but he has yet to see they exist. He wants to see a God, to hear a God, and observe one with his own senses. All he has seen is greedy clerics, all he hears about is the innocent dying, and all he feels is the memory of the oppressive heat that caused the harvest to fail. He wants to have faith, but he is finding it hard.

Felixus's other driving motivation is he wants to help the poor and less fortunate. He believes that anything is good provided it helps the poor and less fortunate. He has been known to forge documents so a family in need will get extra grain, plant false rumors about a judge's infidelity with a duchess so the judge has to leave town and not hear a case he was likely to take a bribe in. He has no qualms in forging the rich signatures on letters of credit so the poor can escape their wretchedness. As he believes less and less, he believes that such injustices will never be righted in this world unless more people like him do what needs to be done.

BACKGROUND

Felixus's background is hard. He came from a family and was taught to read and write at a young age.
His father was one of two bakers in a town. The other baker added sand to his loafs, short changed his customers, clipped the coins, and stole customers dough. He also ensured his daughter married the second son the Earl. And he then used his family connections to get Felixus's father run out of business.

Flexus's father saw the writing on the wall and forced Felixus into the church of Darlen, his elder brother into the militia and his sister into marriage.

Two years after his bakery closed Felixus's father and mother died in a famine. The next year his brother died trying to put down an uprising. His sister is unhappily married.
