Did we search everywhere as we went? They had all sorts of secrets. We didn’t check out the vampire’s room after he left, for one. That said, I just got here, so I’m following the group’s lead, specifically Raliscar.

It’s a thought. I can give him 200 gp to more than meet Raliscar’s estimate and the party comes out ahead when they sell the weapon, but that’s metagaming. Without metathinking, the gold in my apartment is already liquid and wouldn’t require him to sell something.

”Since Raliscar is offering his wagon, I would be remiss to not offer something. I have a small sum of gold that I was saving for a rainy day that you could use to hire a driver. I would have to return to my rooms to get it.”

Feldivarxon looks at the dwarf with no small amount of surprise on his face. "Are you sure you want to do that, Raliscar? I was thinking to offer to transport him in the wagon, true, but not until I'd actually asked you. But offering the wagon itself..." The gnome looks at the vampire, "I imagine you would have means of obtaining a driver so you could remain out of sight within the wagon during your journey, would you not?"

I didn't want to offer the horse and wagon outright, but I certainly thought we could provide passage out of the city. Perhaps that would work as a first offer, the horse and wagon as a second offer, then other items if we need further sweetener in the pot. Aye? Nay?

”That’s a great question. We did not actually anticipate a ransom opportunity. May we have a moment to discuss among ourselves to see what we might have to offer?” The gnome makes no move to leave, waiting for the nosferatu’s permission.

I think I can sacrifice my ring of protection since I spend my time behind the warriors. I don’t know if that counts as 1000 gold or 2000 gold. I have loose cash I did not spend when I threw Feldy’s build together, but I don’t know if he would offer it with no idea who the young man is. Anyone else have suggestions?

Diplomacy to negotiate: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 So much for that... "We are not wealthy, I am afraid, but we are not without resources. We could possibly transport you out of the city in lieu of part of such a princely sum. That would depend on where you need to go, of course, before we would part ways."

The gnome shrugs and nods. ”Oh, absolutely, I’m sure you have more important things to do. I was just trying to find something more productive than yet another fight. What sort of agreement did you have in mind? The dwarf in question is rather independent, so his knowing the terms will go a long way to determining whether he works with us or against us in this effort. I’m sure you’ve known others like that.” Diplomacy, any aid happily accepted: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Pay? ”Well, I think we are working at cross purposes here. Some are talking, some are attacking, but you really can’t claim we’ve hurt you yet. Perhaps we can start over. It’s been a most trying day, really, and you’re not catching us at our best. I, for one, really don’t know anything about vampires and wouldn’t mind hearing some of your stories. You must have seen many things, right?” Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

”Indeed. The amulet, I’ve seen its like before - it’s a good choice for a holy woman. The cloak, it finds its best utility on the shoulders of one targeted by magic attacks. Vyshael, I think that describes you as the leader in melee. You should wear it.” Very quick and dirty scan of character sheets leads me to believe Vyshael would benefit most, but none of us have exemplary saves across the board. Feldy needs it least at this point.

The gnome lugs the large-to-him weapon across to the entrance before considering the conundrum of the worn objects. ”I am sure that whatever she is now is probably toxic, don’t you think? Maybe they could be washed in something and made safe?” Casting a cantrip (mage hand), he tries to pull the three magical items from the ooze, but the armor is too heavy to even budge. The cloak, wet with fluid, he can only drag free, but that just spreads more ooze across the floor and he stops. The amulet he plucks and dunks repeatedly into the water like an invisible washerwoman is scrubbing it. Setting it back on the floor, he tries another cantrip. With repeated castings of prestidigitation, he works to remove a little of the ooze at a time.

The gnome very timidly re-enters the room, his dog sniffing around - but not too closely - at the nasty puddle that used to be the most formidable foe he thinks he's ever had the displeasure of seeing. He looks around the room at his new allies and at the remains. His mouth opens and closes several times before he finally can say something. "This has all been very exciting, but I'm not sure I'm up for a fight like that ever again..." This is not an attempt to say goodbye, it's more of his ongoing crisis of confidence. He will endeavor to gather up anything of value in the room while the others are checking their wounds. He will cast detect magic and gather what he finds near the entrance.

Ole' Feldy is having a serious crisis of confidence that he can do anything useful at this point. However, a question - do we have Haste running at this point? If not, he will use his last 3rd-level spell slot to cast Haste. I think he last cast it against the maidens a lifetime ago.

I have AC 22 but no effective attacks. My spells are probably not much help, but I can grease the ground at her feet all day long. I can also put Rutter invisible a few more times. And I have wands of mage armor and cure light wounds (50% chance of success on UMD to use it) that might help someone. Other than the above, I'm thinking my small heavy crossbow and acid splash are what I have to contribute. I presume we should split up before we find out she exhales a 10' spore cloud or similar area attack.

Feldy's not sure where the invisible rogue is and the last thing he wants to do is negate his invisibility.
