Fayn never had an easy life; as her entire family and ancestors, the kagonesti's life has been one of toils, constantly being hunted. Born and raised in the island of Southern Ergoth, she had to be constantly on the move within the scarce forests bordering the Forghaven Vale, infested with ogres and thanoi - and fighting them became her second nature.
Living such life required an unprecedent level of discipline for a race dedicated to nature, love and freedom, and the surviving kagonesti were only able to accomplish it by focusing on a sort of monastic path. Blessed by the voice and powers of Chislev, Mother of Nature and animals, Fayn became an accomplished hunter and a person truly dedicated to the good of Krynn. Her eyes became used to the night journeys, her arms became used to the tension of the bow cords, her heart became used to pain.
While young, being the single female sibling she'd be kept behind on the low canopy trees around the cave entrances; not only this would prove strategic for scouting and defense, but also a nice spot to shoot with the elven longbows. This also meant that she was not as exposed to combat as her brothers - forced to hunt for food, and she used a good chunk of her time to produce high quality arrows and improve the cording of the bows.
Even if she was born after the cataclysmic events that tore Ergoth in two, she'd still live heavily influenced by such consequences, and for decades the travels of the Saruu family across the island meant mourning the ones that fell through the years, saving the few they'd manage to cross, and the insane - somewhat nonsensical - moments in which they'd find time to celebrate life in their own happy little festivals.
Such moments still resonate on her; the fact her entire existence had been one of constant moving, being hunted and losing people, basically meant she doesn't even realize that a life of peace is possible. If it somewhat hardened her heart, it also made her appreciate the small moments and the nights under clear skies. In their culture, such lives were treated as a fading lute song; one which the chorus were those moments when another loss happened. By the time she hit adulthood, before her first century, she was already alone in the world, having lost contact with the few of her siblings which still breathed.
She eventually traveled outside the island, navigating east towards Ansalon, and became an adventurer. If the coins were already of help, in truth she enjoyed being useful as a tracker and guide through forests - plus, it also gave her the opportunity of pinning some ogres with her arrows. If nowadays she still lives one day at a time, in her core she grew to hope that her destiny could somehow be related to something greater, and that someday the few living kagonesti could find peace.
Appearance and Behavior:
Fayn is a somewhat attractive elf with long ears and a silver white hair - likely inherited from her Qualinesti or Silvanesti ancestors - which she keeps medium sized or short. Hey eyes are dark green, and her skin almost pale - from a life used to navigate and hunt in the nights more than under the bright sun.
Good hearted, shy and reserved, Fayn is monastic and contemplative. She constantly prays for Chislev and meditates over her life and the small successes she accomplishes. She's loyal, but lived long enough to become somewhat rugged and paranoid. Yes, she's a survivor, but when she trusts someone - she might become almost childish naive.
