Ah; nice temple; solid...oh; look yonder, seems my brother is here and involved in some heated discussion in mediation; hehe, so like him. I remember when I was little I had a row with one of my sisters in which his mediation ended up dunking both are heads in a barrel of rainwater until we agreed to be civil, lol, see any barrels handy? Well, as spiritual examples to the people; I suppose we should lend our support; lets join in.
Greetings brother <gives a hug> such a lively discussion in the house of the gods...how interesting. <raises an eyebrow at the other two>

Certainly; as you wish, but my mother would box my ears but good if I spoke to other than with reverance; it is not every day that one such as I gets to spend time with she who has known me my entire life; pulling me from the womb and wrapping me in swaddling cloths and holding me up to the gods in naming ceremony. Perhaps your friends and neighbors here in Sandpoint are lax; but some of my sisters are about and would love nothing more than to run home with a story of my disrespect; but perhaps a more familiar title would suffice; shall I call you Auntie, as certainly my father and mother would adopt you in our clan if they could and are as dear to my mother as the sunshine. So, it has been many years, where would you walk; I would like to see more of this cathedral.

oh; let me honor you by paying for this meal; leaving, how can you leave? Who can take your place; who will provide for these people and people in need; I sense a battle in your heart, but do not loose hope and give in to despair; certainly their may be changes coming for us all, but to surrender to the deeds done to us by the enemy is wrong and hurts all of us; these people look up to you, what will be in their hearts when they see you walk away; grief; saddness, they will say that the loss of your husband broke your spirit; you whom they have turned to for many, many years; to whome will they turn; can they find the herbs; tend to creatures in your care; you are the post they lean on; without that post their lives will be harder. Your homeland; home is in the heart, let not yours be empty; a cottage is no place to live; walk with my father and our clan; we would welcome you; we who know you who have cared for us so well; let us care for you; haha; listen to me; a week out of the Abbey and already I play counciler; methinks the gods have plans for us; I too carry all I own with me; two devoted of the gods in the same place ready to journey; auspicious indeed; have faith precious one; as you have told me I say back to you; clear your heart of desires of what you think you should do and listen and watch for signs of the task the gods have set for you. Often do I ponder those words, the clergy at the Abbey say it a bit differently; listen with your heart, watch with patience; neither saying is easy to follow; my how I do go on, if you do decide to leave this land you must stop and see my mother; I think she enjoys your company and sometimes wearies of mostly human interaction. Is there some reason you have not remarried; like your animals; what creature lives alone; life is given with many devoted to the same principles to uplift one another. As for me; I seek to find my place much as any young buck; shall I teach; will there be some battle brewing on the horizon that summons me; I know not so I try to listen and be patient. Ah revered one, I have said too much perhaps; after we break our fast let us wander together if you will that you may review and see that which you would leave; eyes filled with leaving will see things differently so I am told; the clan always move as to not wear a place out going from one place to another following our hearts; let us wander and see Sandpoint as it is now; for who knows what it will look like next time you see it.

Farevon listens to the speaches at the gathering, then walks around town enjoying the festival; noding, waving and such at his brothers, sisters and other clan members and making reaquaintence with the town folk he knows and answering questions about his displayed holy symbol (which leads him to believe that a shrine needs to be built here to teach and be a symbol of rememberance (Farevon quietly prays for an event to spark the fire of Glory in the hearts of the people) Knowing that a war priest is likely to make people uncomfortable, Farevon will make small comments on how secure the festival will be that all may enjoy and have a good time, but just in case the guards and sherrif look very capable and as a war priest he would certainly help if there is trouble. He will attempt to meet and great the leader of the church here as would be polite (perhaps he brought a mail pouch from the abbey as that might be likely and have a letter of introduction). If Farevon sees the druid, whom he greatly esteems, he will invite her for a beverage and snack that they can cath up and make small talk. Farevon is fully geared for battle, though carrying his helmet, as he believes that he is a symbol of his diety and a reminder of Glory and War which is the struggle against adversity and as the Sherrif stated; all peace and law has a price.

Am thinking my father married an elf he fell in love with while adventuring and brought her back to the extended family over by the river; she taught many of the cousins elven hunting and trapping and added to the family wealth; so while dad was always looked down on a bit for bedding with an elf; the clan gained in prosperity overall; dad did most of the traveling and trading with city folk and being a good fighter, with mom, taught us all how to fight to protect the family. The extended family would be about five families ours being the smallest as mom's gestation is a bit longer and she is not as fertile as a human with most families having 12-15 children of all ages which is typical for a community with no birth control. With a few large family herds trade goods would also include homespun wool and wool garments, dried meat and fruit, fancy needlework quilts, leatherwork and other cottage industry stuff that busy townfolk would want. Purchases would be things like barrels, blacksmith items, rugs, glass and things from the ocean as well as any manufactured items that would keep the family wagons rolling. I picture the Varisians a lot like gypsies and tinkerers. The clan spends fall and winters stretched out along the river Yondabakari am thnking right about where the Yonda word is on the map with Sandpoint being the closest town many would travel there for a big annual festival and to pick up supplies and drop of goods for sale. During the spring the clan moves to the Velashu Uplands or over by the Curchain hills to breed stock and mix with other clans. |
