Falzeal shrugs. "Well, I was simply wondering what the wizard and dragon were/are so interested in. Come on, Lukas is getting agitated, let's take a stroll to the cave."

Falzeal breathes a sigh of relief as the exit the Baroness's chambers and head back out into the streets of Belhaim. Once they meet up with shae, Falzeal listens to her, then asks. "What sort of things about the Great Beyond?"
Up to this point, Falzeal has stayed quiet, not wanting to betray himself by speaking. When Celes begins getting angry, Falzeal's eyes widen, as he jumps to his feet and puts a hand on the halfling's shoulder. "Er, he's just a bit wound up. Fighting dragons and all that. Pay him no mind." Pushing Celes toward the door, Falzeal calls over his shoulder. "Fine. Fine. We'll go find these rumored books...."
Falzeal stares up at the ceiling, feeling he is better not saying anything at this point.
Falzeal nods in agreement with Lukas, shaking his head in awe. At the Baroness's order, Falzeal gathers his things and begins to follow. "Eh, Baroness. Is there any way we could get some healing?"
Feeling better, Falzeal evokes another sonic blast at the dragon.
Falzeal withdraws from the drake's range of attack. Severely wounded, he searches his pack for a potion, but finds none.
Falzeal's eyes widen as the ball of flame nears and just manages to jump to the side as it explodes. Calling on his arcane reserves, he hurls a blast of sound at the drake.
Falzeal points and fires a missile of force at one of the grioths.
Never having seen a dragon in real life, only reading about them, Falzeal's eyes widen as he peers at the creature.
Falzeal tries to position himself to catch a couple of the creatures as he creature a burst of radient light. "What in the Nine Hells are they!?"
Falzeal shrugs. "I say, why not? I certainly don't have anything else to do at the moment. I'd like to, perhaps, bid on some item. Speaking of which, may I peruse Hunclay's spellbooks before they go up for auction?"
Falzeal shrugs, projecting an innocent mien.
Falzeal nods. "The team was very....industrious in setting off all the traps we found. There were a few unsavory creatures, but those were dealt with as well. The manor is now safe for an inventory to be taken for the auction."
Falzeal nods to the shae. "Aye, a companion such as yourself would be most welcome!" To his companions, he says. "Let's go report in, aye?"
Falzeal nods in response. "Just throw this dark powder on the wall there?" He asks. If that seems the way to go, Falzeal does so.
Falzeal shakes his head. "Bah! Nonsense. How'd she ever find out? What if this wasn't Hunclay's, but he was watching the monies for someone else?"
Falzeal peers into the chests, then glances at the party. "I would posit that these items, as they are not, technically, in Huclay's manor, would not, per se, qualify as part of his estate, don't you think? I mean, granted Hunclay mentioned the caves in his journal, but who says these things are his? I haven't seen any sort of deed for this cave. How does one claim ownership of a cave, squatter's rights? What I'm getting at is, what the mayor doesn't know won't hurt her, in this case, agreed?"
Falzeal shrugs at Lukas's suggestion. "If they're not trapped, might as well try the keys."
As the beast falls, Falzeal brushes his hands together and moves toward the chests and detects for magic.
"I detect magic. The chests are locked with magic, arcane locks in the academic parlance."
"Perhaps you should try another spell." Falzeal comments to Jeb as he circles north to get into the open. Casting a spell, he launches two missiles of force at the creature.
As Celes moves in, Falzeal nods in approval. "That's my boy!" Following after, Falzeal moves in, then fires a bolt of force at the creature.
Falzeal pushes from the back. "Where'd it go? Move in! Move in!"
"You got it boss!" Falzeal says as he casts a spell, creating a burst of light around the creature.
Falzeal's eyes widen then squint as he peers at the creature. "It's a...um...no not that....a...um..what do you call it....neh-thalggu! Yes, a neh-thalggu." Tilting his head, Falzeal stares with a quizzical look on his face. "Something about it seems off, though. Mind you, I've only read about them, but still....." Shaking his head in confusion, Falzeal begins to recite what he has read about this sort of aberration. "Neh-thalggu typically can only be fully harmed by magical weapons, and have limited magical abilities as well. Their claws are vicious and they are slightly resistant to magic." Shrugging again, he says. "That's what I've read, but this, well, I make no promises."
Falzeal follows along after the party. As they move deeper into cave, Falzeal holds up a hand and whispers. "I can hear a strange skittering and a wet hissing sound coming from ahead."
Falzeal is fine with it.
Falzeal is fine with taking the two wands and the scroll.
Falzeal is leveled. And I haven't been keeping track of loot. Falzeal would like to take some time to transcribe spells from Hunclay's books, before and after the cave.
Falzeal frowns, but follows after the party.
Falzeal's furrows his brow and blast the demon with another force bolt.
Falzeal gulps as he sees the creature climb out from the pit. "A schir demon! Cold iron weapons will work best against it." He says, then tries to pronounce the name. Swearing softly, as he butchers the name, he calls upon his arcane power and blasts the creature with a bolt of force.
Falzeal purses his lips and nods to Lukas. "You seem to be right!" Calling out, he says. "The wizard is dead, but I fear we won't be letting you out until we are assured of your compliance. Who are you and what are you?"
Falzeal smacks his forehead and begins going back through all the written material found. "Should we inspect the rest of this floor before heading out to the cave?"
"Do you happen to know where this cave of Hunclay's is located?" Falzeal asks.
Falzeal shakes himself from his wonderment as he gawks at the creature. "A shae? Er, I mean, pleased toeet you. Are you a shae?"
"Well, who's going to open it?"
Feeling more confident as he realizes the devil is likely trapped in the circle, Falzeal opens the journal and begins paging through it. "Your an accuser devil, no? If memories serves, one of the lowest forms of devil. How did you come to be here?" He asks, glancing up at the devil.
Falzeal studies the devil. "You don't look like the stereotypical devil, so to speak. Are you a lower species, then?" Never taking his eues on the devil, Falzeal reaches down to pick up the journal.
Falzeal moves up and studies the door, then shrugs. "Hmmm, it's all Azlanti to me!"
Falzeal gazes greedily at the spellbooks, calculating how much ime he has to copy spells before the books are sold.
Falzeal weakly asks for some to heal him before he tries to stand.
Glancing at Celes, he coughs. "Do you think that wise?"
Falzeal nearly screeches the words, , as the creature chomps on his shoulder.
He feels the wound begin to burn as its saliva drips into the gash.
Falzeal just manages to jump away as the lightning bolt arcs through his body. He screams through rattling teeth. Pointing, he fires a bolt of force at the creature.
"If it was Hunclay's, it has likely gone mad since he died. Kill it."
