Male Taikangian Zen Archer (Monk)1 | HP 12/12 | AC 16/T16/FF14 | F+2, R+4, W+6 | Perc +8 | Init +6 | Move: 30ft

While taking his leisure and eating his kabab and pita, the young man strikes up a few conversations with others buying food, as well as the vendor himself. Being new to the city, he asks the usual questions of where to find a good place to stay, good food and drink and where to purchase goods. He also sprinkles into his conversation a little about his homeland, and that he trained with holy men in his youth and asks about the religious traditions of the city, hoping to learn more about the catacombs.

"In my home we are able to visit our ancestors whenever we feel the need. Is that not so here? Can we not simply enter the place in the guise of visiting our beloved departed?"

Fa Ying wanders over to a food vendor and purchases a skewer of some sort of meat and a piece of flat bread.

"I too am new to this town, but I am sure it can not be that hard to find...we just ask people! Come on, let's go and see what we can find!"

Fa Ying makes a quick gesture as Tamit speaks of dark magic.

"Careful what you say Tamit...just mentioning evil can attract it to you."

He again makes the particular hand gesture, then spits upon the floor.

Muttering under his breath in his native language, Ying follows the others to the house and watches in surprise as Gornash starts to barricade the entry and windows.

Looking over the weapons and armour laid out before them, Ying dismisses all, except the silver dagger.

"This is most unusual. It must indeed be special...can any of you tell what it might be for?"

Looking at the dead leader, Ying bends down and takes the odd dagger from his body and sticks it in his belt, then go to search the other corpses...relieving them of any money they might have.

With the thugs too close to fire at with his bow, Ying lashes out with his feet and hands.

Ying holds his great bow up and takes careful aim at the leader, then in a very rapid motion sends 2 arrows towards the thug's leader.

"I too am honour-bound to help. Your brother was brave and selfless. You need only ask, am I will do everything in my power to help!"

The Taikangian youth holds up his mug and in a slightly slurred voice says, "For Karim...the best of us!"

DM:

So am I in a holding pattern until the group shows up? Should I be doing anything else? Just not too sure if we are working on the same timeline and location

Arriving at the regular meeting spot that he and Feremon-Father agreed upon, Akro flicks his tongue out, tasting the air. Sensing nothing out of the ordinary and with no sign of his foster-father, the lizardman sets about making camp. Glip flops down in his familiar spot and closes his eyes. All is quiet and Akro, once the camp is set up, heads out to find some food and water for the two of them...lazy Glip can hunt his own food!

Were the orcs going my way, or the opposite direction??

Once the group had passed, Akro moved forward to their trial and examined it just in case he ever ran across it again. Signalling to Glip the two continue on their way but remain watchful for any other groups.

Slowing down, he holds his hand out and slowly lowers it as he himself drops to one knee. Obediently Glip stops and also lowers himself to the ground.

The lizardfolk ranger strains his senses to see or hear anything about who or what is on the other track.

The Edge of the Hool Marsh

Slinking through the night, Akro and Glip wend their way towards the cabin of their friend and mentor, Feremon.
Akro hopes the frog-people have not caused the human any trouble. Knowing the human can take care of himself and his brood, Akro grins at his misplaces worry, but still hurries through the swamp to bring warning to his friend.
The miles quick fall away as the lizardman swiftly and silently moves through the boggy wetlands of his home, with the mighty Glip right at his heels...near his heels...somewhere behind him...battling a fern that had the audacity to lash out at the giant monitor lizard?!?!

"Glip...what the hells...."
