alright thanks for the reply's, ill just use the Adventure paths as inspiration.

I figured it would be like that, personal use but can't make money off of it but i did want to make sure.

Quickly getting to the point.

I'm writing a novel.

I've glanced and googled the open game licence. Wasn't 100% sure if it answered my questions so i've taken it here.

So the question.

If I wrote a novel based off an adventure path (rise of rune lords, curse of crimson throne etc etc ) and then planned to publish it with the idea of making a bit of money from my effort...

Would I be violating something?

like some kind of copyright thing since the core plot from the adventure path isn't even mine?

I'm not one to plagiarize so obviously I will be changing a lot of names and even twisting the plot so it flows within my own world built universe.

I have no trouble writing my own plot but I do love the adventure paths and owning all 19 pdf adventure paths ( +1 of the most recent one but incomplete), I would like to see what it would be like if my own MC lived through it in a non tabletop fashion.
