Getting less gold is a huge deal. Sure whatever the amount is doesn't really matter but one of the things going on with organized play is a standardization of awards. Sure it would be nice to give your great roleplaying perfect player double gold so that they could buy more purple scarves to roleplay with but in organized play you can't.

Just as I think giving the player you like double rewards is bad I think giving the player you don't like half rewards is also bad.

I will agree that giving the player you don't like only rewards up to the point where you kick them out it's legal but I won't agree that it's fair.

If the only reason they are hanging around is they want a chronicle sheet just give them their chronicle sheet and send them along their way. No need to invite them back, no need for additional grief.

This is my general feeling, as well. Might as well give the players their sheet, and move on. No sense in fostering bad feelings, and the GM can simply refuse to play with those people again.

Thanks for your input, folks!

The GM has talked to the players, but to little avail. I'm aware that this problem is endemic of PbP sites, but I wanted to check to see if handling it as we see fit on the boards is okay as far as Paizo is concerned.

I'm currently running a chapter of PFS over on the Myth Weavers PbP boards. One of my GMs is getting a bit frustrated with a couple of his players whose post rates have tanked recently. The players in question seem to be "dialing it in", with no meaningful contribution to the game whatsoever. The GM would like to know how he should handle this situation, in regard to chronicle sheets after the scenario is over. Do the neglectful players still get normal XP and access to treasure and boons? Can the GM oust the players from the game? I'm not sure how to advise him, as I'm bit hazy how the official PFS rules apply in this situation.

Can I get a ruling?

Fair enough. I'll adjust things accordingly over on my end. Thanks for the info, Mark.

Over on Myth Weavers, a highly active PbP site, I've taken it upon myself to organize a PFS chapter. Random GMs have offered PFS scenarios once in a while over the years, but the site has never attempted to regulate and promote PFS activity.

I've named myself Venture-Captain, and already recruited a stable of willing GMs and a sizable player pool, all of whom are registered here with Paizo and the Society. Is there anything I need to do to make the chapter "official" with Paizo? What about naming myself Venture-Captain? Is that kosher, or do I need to get approval from Paizo?

I just want to make this as legit as possible, so if anyone can give me a heads up, that'd be great.

And of course, I encourage all of you to check out game ad and join up!

Thanks very much for the nod, Kalizar. I look forward to gaming with everyone!

Yes, good luck to all! It's been a fun thread to read. Some very creative folks here!

Here's another vote for PC kingdom-building. As was stated earlier, it's the main appeal of Kingmaker over the other APs. And I would dearly love to see how poor insecure Adreccam Surtova would take on the mantle of leadership.

Surtova is where it's at, folks. House Rogarvia got what it deserved; never forget that.

(I have no idea what I'm talking about.) :)

I would kill to play Kingmaker, and I have no problem posting frequently. From what I can see, the party would benefit greatly from some muscle, so I humbly submit ADRECCAM SURTOVA, a Human Fighter with the Mobile Archetype. He's a bit insecure due to his royal lineage, and he has some big shoes to fill, but he's ready to make his name in the Stolen Lands after suffering so long on the streets of Restov!

Mechanically, he's a slippery fella who's good with the sword and board.

If he ever happened to come into power, I could see Adreccam taking the mantle of Master-at-Arms or Captain of the Guard. Something like that. He doesn't realize it, but Adreccam responds well to guidance and authority.

Please check his profile for full stats, background, personality, and appearance. Thanks for your consideration, DM Kalizar!

Also, is it recommended that you GM a PFS scenario on the Paizo boards, or can it be done anywhere?

Interesting. So the players aren't required to fill out the sheets. I did not know that. That will facilitate things a great deal. And I didn't realize that bit about the PCs being locked in. Perhaps I'll recommend that they create new PCs in addition to whatever else they have in the Society, so at least they can use the other PCs at live events.

I'm brand new to the Society, and I'd like to try GMing a scenario using PbP. I've GMed PbP numerous times with other systems over the years, so the medium is old hat. The logistics of reporting an official Society scenario is what's confusing me. A few questions:

- I can easily send a chronicle sheet to each player via email. After they fill it in, how do I mark it up and sign it officially? Do I do so by hand, scan it, and then send back the scan to the player? Can that player use that chronicle sheet in future events, and be assured that it is official?

- Say a person wants to play with a PC that has already been used in PFS. Should I require that person to send me a scan of their latest chronicle sheet, so I can look it over?

If you have any general advice as to how to make a PFS PbP run smoothly, I'm all ears!

Thanks in advance!
