About Empress-on-Grey
Matriarch of a clan of stellifera on the aquatic homeworld of Parin, Empress-on-Grey was forced to leave after confronting Azlanti oppression on her homeplanet. Now adventuring with the Starfinder Society, she still hopes one day to return and liberate her home planet from Azlanti control.
The stellifera's native language involves subtle telepathy, body languange, and colour-changing skin, which is difficult for many species to really understand, let alone communicate in. In the field, Empress-on-Grey uses limited telepathy to communicate with her team, as well as the speakers on a miniaturized tier 1 computer slotted into her datajack to vocalize, as necessary.
When not operating in an aquatic environment, she usually maintains her waterbody - although since her armour and longarm are sized for a diminutive creature, she can drop the waterbody and still function (albeit with greatly reduced strength, reach, and land speed.)
COMBAT
In combat, Empress-on-Grey debuffs and controls with mind-affecting spells like Hold Monster, Fear, and Id Insinuation, as well as with the Demoralize application of Intimidate.
To make sure spells land, she opens up by using Improved Feint and Spell Feint to make foes more likely to fail their saves against her spells; this is often used with her Focused Expert Gimmick to increase the DC of a lower level AoE spell, like Hazard. Once an enemy has failed a save, she'll use Frightful Display as a Reaction to try and Demoralize. Thanks to her Ferocity Blazon (and, if she had prep time, a Warrior Serum of Enhancement chugged before battle) her Demoralize's Shaken conditions last several rounds. She'll pick on Shaken foes, continuing to use Spell Feint to try and force more spell save fails.
Against mindless or unliving foes immune to mind-affecting effects, she relies on her longarm, and damaging spells like Ectoplasmic Barrange or Ice Bolt. She'll also focus more on keeping her Reactions available for the many paradigm shifts and witchwarper features that let her protect allies, and hinder foes.
