In exactly twelve days (wow) I will be completely finished exams, and looking to start running or joining about a half a dozen new games. I've got an Apocalypse World game in the making, and am now thinking about trying out AW: Fallen Empires, either here or on Discord. I've absolutely loved playing with you guys, and if any of you want a new game or have a space for another player, it would be great to join in.

Everything in the bag is fine. It's the pulsating grey splotch on the back of her neck, throbbing in time with her pulse, that is sliiiiightly unnerving. Wait... what were you looking at again? Dhice, why do you have that strange look on your face? "Dhice. Dhice! Snap out of it. What's wrong?" Runic letters scrawl across Emma's grey eyes. Defy Danger to avoid reading them too deeply.
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Emma says "Well, what is it?" However, inside Emma's head, a shifting pool of goop prods and pokes at the nearby force, doing some... interesting things. Aiding Lyntel with CHA: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 5) + 1 = 12
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Sick. No. No it doesn't. In fact, the bubbling pit of slime in Emma's brain recedes a little, biding its times, conserving its strength. It's no longer an insane, barely contained maelstrom. It's watching. Testing. Measuring the strength of its cage. Emma prods at the tangled metallic brushes. "Lyntel, Dhice, you wouldn't happen to have any lightning magicks hidden away somewhere? Because this place would be... well, if you are planning on using it, do tell me beforehand so I can remove myself from the situation."
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
I'll take the important role of "hit things and follow the railroad" Emma follows the group into the wilderness, longsword drawn and swishing gently. Her gaze is steady. Discern Realities: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3 Hahahaha have fun Archepex!
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Wow. "My Queen. I seek only to obey. Grant me freedom from worldly cares and the fortitude to overcome the foul enchantments of our enemies, and I swear to you." She looks up, her expression one of scars and justice. "Hell shall kneel before you." Primarily to obey the Queen in the cleansing of Skaven and demon alike. Freedom from hunger, thirst and sleep, and some amount of resistance to magic of demonic origin.
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Compared to even the humblest of elves, Emma is, to not put too fine point on it, a hideous brute. Bulky, cumbersome, scarred, ruined in mind and soul. Still, she makes her way towards the elven child-queen, shedding her pack as she goes. Eventually, she stands before the diminutive ruler. Placing her longsword, which has been patched up as many times as she has, at the queen's feet, she kneels wordlessly, asking for her blessing in the fights to come.
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Emma is going to take a poke around, looking for a moneylender or changer. Of all the possible problems to have, bags of gold being almost too heavy to carry isn't that high on her priorities, but the bulky stolen loot was getting ridiculous.
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
"Yes, it certainly was enough to kill a horse. Your point?" Emma unfolds from a sitting position to balanced entirely on one hand, then two fingers. She doesn't quite manage to get to a single finger, which annoys her greatly.
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
At the start of the night, Emma says basically nothing other than pleasantries. As the honeywine starts piling up, she begins telling old war lies to anyone who cares to listen, mixed with a few tidbits from her childhood. The actual memories sound like the unrealistic exaggerations. Then she starts smiling. Then she passes out. It takes a lot (and I mean a lot) of honeywine to do that to a paladin, but she wakes up with seemingly no side effects. Really, did you expect a crippling hangover to deter a paladin from her morning calisthenics? For shame.
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Levelling up: New Bond: Milo may be a useful ally. So long as he is used for the greater good. I'll be the judge of that. Three questions: Firmly answered Alignment: Casualties? Pah "Carousing" Spending 50 on getting blind drunk: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (6, 1) + 5 = 12 You hear rumors of an opportunity.
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
As a large group of men once said "I was only following orders." Howeverrrrrr... I can see your point. Emma has been known to do dumb murder-hobo things, but quite a few of those have in fact been due to me misinterpreting a few posts then lashing out as I see fit, then rereading, panicking, and trying to rectify the situation. Mm. Anyway, be interesting to see how Grigor reacts!
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
What happens, sans interference, is Emma steps forward and sinks her sword into the elf Archepex indicated. As blood drips, knowledge is gained. What here is not what it appears to be? I will remind you Mooshy, that that was was no divine proclamation. There is no divinity in Emma that isn't drowning.
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
I AM THE LAW: 2d6 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4, 6) + 1 + 1 + 1 = 13 Emma stands before Wildsong, a (k)nightmare of mostly righteous steel. Her justice is messy and catastrophic "Enemies of the Queen, your lives are forfeit. Drop your weapons and kneel. You are permitted to beg for an honorable death. Be warned though," she shows her teeth, in a grim not-smile. "My patience is infamably short."
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Discern Realities: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12 Emma pursues Wildsong, predicting his movements: What is about to happen? What should I be on the lookout for? What here is useful or valuable to me?
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Emma speaks quietly but firmly to the noble, as one might to a recalcitrant horse or beaurocrat. "Neither your hands, eyes or genitals are a prerequisite for your survival. Cease your spellcasting or you stay with us will be... Unpleasant." I AM THE LAW: 2d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6, 5) + 1 + 1 = 13
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
It gets worse. Emma has had chaos crystal inside of her, and got them out by herself. She's been soaked in greater demons blood. And she went toe-to-toe with a brandlewynn inside her own brain. Have fun!
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Aid Grigor with smacking stuff: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 2) + 2 = 7 As Grigor raises his broadsword, black lightning crackles behind Emma's eyeballs. She has no idea. As far as she knows, she's just seeing what will happen to the ring next. Spoooooky foreshadowing!
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Nooooo! I was literally just about to post an Aid roll for Grigor. Is it too late for backsies? Either way... Emma paces over to the ring/finger combination, and picks it up swiftly, aura not-withstanding.
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Damage from ages ago: 1d4 - 2 ⇒ (4) - 2 = 2 Emma is fine with taking up her position again by Lyntel for the next few moments. Late post, good on you guys for handling it fine!
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Emma will stagger to her feet, if possible, then stand there swaying and leaking black soul-fluid. Otherwise, she'll lie there and leak black soul-fluid. It's all much the same to her at this point.
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
That IS majestic. In addition, I like to think that every time something goes after Emma's soul and fail, rather than being banished, it is instead incorporated into a swirling maelstrom of metaphysical garbage that swirls deep in her subconscious. Because reasons. I'm sure there are plenty of interesting things in there...
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Emma spares not a glance for Grigor. This thing must die. Hack: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 4) + 2 = 8 Forgot the +1 from Bless if it becomes important. Slash: 1d10 + 2d4 ⇒ (3) + (3, 4) = 10 The sword makes a sickly, sucking sound as it enters possessed, shadow-infected flesh.
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
"That creature is going to die. By my hand. This I vow." Emma grimaces, and her scar pulses once, justifying her actions. She marches into the thicket, heedless of the lashing vines. Her mind is aflame with justified anger. Hack and Slash, Exterminatus: 2d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1, 5) + 2 + 1 = 9 Damage: 1d10 + 2d4 ⇒ (4) + (4, 4) = 12
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
As Emma struggles with the errant foliage, divine guidance courtesy of Archepex slides through her eyes. Blessed Discern Realities: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 5) + 1 = 7 What should she be on the lookout for?
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Emma strides into the clearing, takes one look at the vines snagging Archepex, and opens up on the plant-thing with an overhand swing from her longsword. Hack and Slash: 2d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2, 2) + 2 + 1 = 7 Weedkiller: 1d10 ⇒ 2 That's probably about... 1 vine?
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Yes, that sounds excellent. I'll add the Vision enhancement to my longsword. Emma takes a moment to look around before following the group. Discern Realities: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 2) + 1 = 5 Welp
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Emma's sword seems completely normal, unless you happen to catch a glimpse of it in her eyes. In the reflection, it wavers like it's seen through a deep pool of oil. Tendrils shiver and shake in a nebulous aura around the pommel. They are the eyelashes of the weeping orb in the pommel, reaching out towards Emma's neck. Who know's what she actually sees... The enchantment said +2 damage, but I wouldn't mind if it did something more... esoteric. Perhaps relating to death, binding, corruption, insanity or disease.
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Dream: In addition, there is a spell lurking under the flesh of your forearm. You aren't quite sure what it does, but if you can dig it out of your flesh it's sure to be useful. Emma takes up a rear-guard position. While the rest of the them look for danger, she'll be doing her best to keep the rest of them out of harms way. Defend: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 5) + 1 = 9 In addition, I completely forgot that I had a weapon enhancement. Could I have retroactively used that on my longsword since the demon-slaying?
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Dream: Yes. Very. The heat that is normally produced by a nesting pyro-spider is replaced by the explosion. The shards of "stone" begin hatching, dripping tiny crystalline spiders amid wisps of burning web.
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Very belated end of session: Alignment - That poor, poor old man we tried to rescue. Go in pieces, for your death allowed me to stab the sh!t out of that pit demon. Resolving Bathildas bond. +3 from rest of end of session bring me to 9XP total and a level up. I'll be taking Bloody Aegis. I plan on using it.
Female Human Intimidating Paladin | Lvl 3 | HP: 24/25 | Armor: 5 | XP: 2 | STR +2 | DEX 0 | CON +1 | INT -1 | WIS 0 | CHA +1
Very shiny... Emma splashes water from her canteen on the filthy banner. "Lyntel, have you seen this sigil before? I... I don't like the look of it." She says. Her eyes tell a different story.

He excelled in surviving, earning a place in Ocean's elite secret police that would ferret out dissidents and deal with them as needed...and dissidents there were aplenty. Then one day Shad watched as a good ally, for noone really truly had friends, was set up and framed for being a dissident and dealt with accordingly. That made Shad think...if it could happen to his comrade,it could happen to anyone...including himself. Anyone who was in the way of anyone elses progression or agenda, could be framed. He wasnt protecting a way of life...he was helping others climb the ladder of prosperity and power....soon his thoughts turned to why...always why...it was easy for his mind to turn to rebellion after this realization.
