He spent four arrows on the rest of the trip to the Inn on shadows and flickers of movement in the trees. There is no sign that any of the arrows hit anything besides shadows or that the beastman he saw earlier is still there in the trees, but he keeps an arrow knocked anyway. Even when the sound of the horns falls behind and the Inn comes into sight he doesn't relax. He is the last one to pass through the gate into the safety of the Inn. Only when the gate is closed and barred behind them does he take the arrow from his bowstring and return it to his quiver. perception(35): 1d100 ⇒ 31 Once inside the Inn Elthaslas strips of his sodden cloak and drapes it over the back of a chair near the fire to dry. Move! you think these were the only beastmen in the forest. We aren't out of danger until we are behind the footman inn's walls. Move you fools! Elthaslas will take a moment to sheath his sword, string his bow, and settle his quiver for easy access before following his own advice and hurrying up the road. He grumbles to himself about the damage the rain could do to his longbow.
