I'm in. It's difficult to get a homebrew class allowed as it is.

The goblins just started their attack during the Festival.

I'm Db3's character, Elloe Awran, and I'm a half-elf Summoner(Fleshbinder archtype). 15 point buy.

Re-launch. I love these characters.

Interested in continuing as well.

Well, the good news that I might be getting my computer back today seems to be less exciting for me now that I've read the posts in this thread... Hope he's okay.

So it's starting to look like I'm going to need to get a new charge cable for my computer. It's been acting up the last few days, and today it finally stopped charging my computer. So if no one hears from me for a while, don't worry, I haven't forgotten you. It just sucks that I might not be able to participate in all my games! :(

"You've ruined this festival for everyone. You have one chance to leave before I RIP OUT YOUR THROAT!" Elloe growls as her transformation takes place and she flexes her claws menacingly at the goblins.[/i]

Standard Action: Transform!

Remember that during a surprise round you get a standard action or a move action.

Just the move action then.

Elloe's eyes go wide, but with anger, not surprise. This was a time of merriment and joy, and these ugly green abominations were choosing to ruin it!? She may not have her bardiche with her, but she didn't need it...

Running at the goblins, Elloe lets her body change. Her nails shift into wicked looking claws, and her skin toughens while her senses get a small boost.

"Leave the girl alone!" She screams at the goblins.

Standard Action: Activate evolutions.
Move Action: Move toward the girl.

I just hope I can get to her in time.

Elloe pauses, completely forgetting the delicious food in front of her as her eyes watch the butterflies. She hadn't seen anything like them before, and wants to remember them in detail. One lands nearby and she gazes at it intently, smiling softly, as she follows the patterns on it's wings. She could see why an entire festival could be named after them.

"I think... I think this will be one of my fondest memories." She says. Her face goes pink when she realizes Gudada has heard her, but she doesn't take it back. "They're quite beautiful."

Hope you get all the way better soon, cause that sounds like it really sucks. Gotta say, I'd pick GenCon over being in a hospital.

"Think nothing of it. I can't speak for my friend here, but I like meeting new people. They have very interesting stories sometimes. Come, let's go to the Rusty Dragon and get some pie!" Looking at everyone, Elloe heads off for the tavern inn, intent on getting something to eat.

"Looks like we'll have company with our midday. All the better!" Elloe had spent a lot of time just talking to strangers to find out where hunting was good, which road had bandits, or simply where the best deal for a room to stay was. She didn't trust them, but she didn't distrust them either.

"I think we merely... misheard you, so let's put it behind us go get that pie. I don't know about a shepard's blueberry pie, but I do like a normal blueberry pie every now and then."

"I... I'm not sure. I think I heard something about a strawberry condor." Elloe replies. She looks at the excitable gnome. "Hello there. Any chance you can slow down a bit and repeat that?"

"Downright starving. I was so excited about today that I skipped breakfast, and I swear I've been through the entire city already! How about the Rusty Dragon? I passed it by once and it seemed like a decent enough place as any."

"Good to know the thought of pie distracts you, Gudada." Elloe says from behind him. "Just as entertaining as your last show, though I think this one was much shorter lived."

She's smiling, and seems to be truly enjoying the day.

"At least you actually hit the blasted thing."

I'm okay with it.

"My I'd say your not one for the bow little lady. What a second shot." The old hunter grins. "Still the first one was good, and hardly as bad as I did on the Devil."

"Little lady?" Elloe laughs cheerfully. "If an experienced hunter like yourself says it was a good shot, I'll believe! Guess I need to learn how to use a bow, huh?"

Elloe stays around to watch a few more try their luck before the lure of the rest of the Festival draws here back. There was a lot to see, a lot of food to taste, and a lot of music and tales to hear.

"Well, I'm not one for a bow, but I'll give it a shot." Elloe says as she hands over a copper piece and takes a few moments to get used to the unfamiliar weapon. She takes aim as carefully as she can...

First Shot:1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 2 - 4 = 13
Second Shot:1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 2 - 4 = 2

With a sigh, Elloe stretches and quickly cleans and dresses herself. Today was the day of the Swallowtail Festival after all, and she didn't want to miss more than she already had! She manages to hear the opening speeches, and feels the excitement in the air start to infect her, boosting her already good mood.

Nothing made her eyes light up like the sign telling of the Devil Hunt though! Sure, it was just a festival game, but any practice might be helpful if she encountered the real thing. She decided to give it a try and let Gudada earn some gold entertaining the festival goers. It was the least she could do after cutting his show short yesterday.

After getting directions, Elloe hurriedly heads for the beach and the Hunt. Today was going to be a good day.

Actually, you can use them now. They are on your list, having a caster level isn't required.

EDIT: Link just remember that wands are spell-trigger items. :)

Well, Thorfinn doesn't appear to be a Skirmisher or a Trapper, so he can use Cure wands without UMD, and I planned on taking some Ranks in Heal after first level.

Huh, what if we use Eschew Materials and get rid of the material component?

Honestly, I'm not worried about it too much. Even without Infernal Healing, we should be able to stay patched up enough to handle all but really big threats. We've got a good group.

A few ranks in the Heal skill can go a long way, and I can grab Infernal Healing too if it's really needed. Just wish there was a good version of it somewhere.

That was just a tab bit mean, don't you think, Gudada?

Oh, I think you'll do just fine, Gudada. After all, you'll have to if you're going to show me around the Festival! :)

I'm fine with the recruitment thread discussions being canon. It's actually a good way to get a group together before the game technically starts.

"Is there anything special you like to see or do at a festival such as ours?"

"Maybe get a trinket or two, listen to some of the tails about the weird creatures living around here, maybe play a few games or visit the new cathedral. So anything and everything, really. I'm guessing you know the town well enough, and I haven't minded your company so far, so why don't you show a new comer the festival?"

"Though... maybe the cathedral first, to thank Desna for all the luck I've had lately, and Gozreh for keeping me safe."

Gudada Purrun wrote:

"Are you here for the Swallowtail Festivel, the opening of the new cathedral, both, or is the timing simply coincidence?"

The serving girl sets two plates and two mugs in front of the pair. 'Dada glances down and cautiously pokes at the unidentified meat.

"The Festival." She replies, cutting the meat and taking a bite. "I've no clue what it is, but it's a welcome change of pace. Anyway, the Swallowtail Festival was the deciding factor for coming here. Truthfully, it's been a while since I've really relaxed and had some fun."

"My people?" Elloe asks, amused. "I don't know where my human heritage is from, nor my elven. All I hear is second-hand gossip and rumors, which is what I make my living off of. I've found there is usually a grain of truth to be had in rumors and gossip, but it's best to take it with a grain of salt too. You'd have to prove it before I thought you a thief."

"Water or milk will be fine, thank you" Elloe tells the serving girl. "So, Gudada, how did you get into the profession of street performer? I've seen a lot of them as I've wandered, but your the first to jump on an anvil."

I know I haven't. Even if I don't make it into the game, this is fun!

"I only just woke up, not long before the show actually, and I have a whole day to enjoy. I'll pass on the wine, but I will join you so I have someone to talk to while I enjoy a breakfast not made over a campfire." She smiles at the thought, her mouth watering at the idea of meal she didn't have to cook herself. it had been too long since she'd had something other than squirrel or rabbit or berries and tubers to eat! "You wouldn't happen to know a good place, would you? Your first wine is on me, on account of making you fall like that."

Gudada Purrun wrote:
"Oh! I still haven't named myself, have I? I am Gudada. And I'll get your knives here in a second."

"No need, I got them while you were finishing your business. Got the mug too." She holds up the items to prove her point. "If I'd realized 'give the young lady a hand' meant clap instead of help get the items your were juggling back, you wouldn't have landed on your back. Even when you were falling though, it was a good show."

Gudada Purrun wrote:

The show seems to come to a rather sudden end as the Varisian falls flat on his back, the blades scatter into the smithy behind him, the mug floats in the bucket, and the trencher that Elloe threw lands on his feet.

"Ooooh! THAT wasn't supposed to happen!"

"My apologies for tossing the trenchers too soon!" Elloe says as she moves to 'Dada's side and offers him a hand up. "To make up for it, my name is Elloe. Given the entertainment, it's nice to meet you."

Sounds a lot like what I've been doing, just centering around Sandpoint.

"Not a problem, Mister Juggler." Elloe laughs as she kneels down to help the child with the trenchers, careful not to hit anyone with her polearm. She'd done that few times before, not used to having it on her back. With a smile, she tosses the trenchers she picked up back to 'Dada.

"Don't you know it's polite to give your name before a lady gives her? For shame, Mister Juggler. If your manners were are well used as your juggling skills, I daresay you'd have plenty of women fancying you from afar. Her tone is light, her smile still there. "But it seems you have to roll in the road before you get anyone's attention. Such drastic measures seem... over the top."

Background and Reason for being in Sandpoint are in the profile. Azten here, presenting a Fleshbinder Summoner.

She had just made it. The day before the Festival, Sandpoint came into sight and Elloe picked up the pace. The trip had been a long one, but worth it for the Swallowtail Festival. She'd spent most of the day selling the few pelts she kept to local traders and swapping stories of hunts in a few taverns, all the while watching the town get ready for tomorrow. She slept lightly that night in expectation of the next day.

A slight commotion outside her room's window awakens the sleeping half-elf and, rubbing the sleep from her eyes, Elloe opens the window just in time to see a man climb on top of an anvil. Hearing his declaration and wanting to get outside anyway, Elloe quickly collects her things, gets dressed, and goes out to watch the performance.

"Perhaps one of you would care to help? Do you have something for me to add? A fruit? A full mug? A flaming torch so you can watch me burn myself?" The man asks as Elloe joins the crowd.

"I've some blades if you don't fear cut fingers!" She calls out, her voice light and cheerful as she holds up a pair of knives.

'Dada sees a rather tall half-elven lady, clad in simple leather armor and some sort of polearm strapped to her back. The armor has several long scratches in the leather, and the last bit of a faint scar shows under her right ear as she brushes her pale blonde hair back.

"It's not a burning torch, but I figure a pair of daggers is about as dangerous. You up for it?"

I'm ready for a good adventure! Just need to add the range of the Fire Orb spell and I'll be done. Why they just couldn't say the spell was like and acid splash that deals fire damage is beyond me.

@Thales - I like this guy, and the backstory is great! I love the friend turned enemy.

Thanks. I think I have everything in this profile now.

Azten here, with everything but the character sheet done.

Spoiler:
Class/Profession: Pyromancer(Herbalist/Mundane Healer)

Outline/Description: Thales is kind and trusting, preferring to give people the benefit of the doubt before judging them. He's always ready to help in any way that he can. Put him in front of plants and he can tell you the uses it has, from a tea that cures headaches, or a paste that seals wounds. He'll teach anyone who wants to learn, but still being and almost not-an-apprentice himself, admits that he doesn't know as much as others.

Rights and Wrongs: Thales believes that if you can help someone, you should. He believes you should also be honest, even if it hurts someone. He hates bullies and pities them, because bullying usually means something is wrong and you're taking out your anger on those who can't defend themselves. Slavery is just another form of bullying to him, and it's something he wants to get rid of.

Backstory: Thales was a kid without a father, but never cared. You can't be sad about something you can't remember, right? Besides, his best friend's father was like a father to him, so there was even less to care about! Derek and Thales grew up doing everything together. Getting in trouble? Several times. Going places they were told not to? All the time! It was this friendship that led to Derek suggesting Thales apprentice to his father and learn the ways of an apothecary. Liking the idea, he asked Derek's father about it and got the chance, alongside a girl a little older than him. Instant rival's, they made each other work harder in their attempts to prove themselves.

Years passed, and Thales grew, becoming taller than even his teacher, who he had thought was a giant long ago. During these years he made two more close friends. One was a lady he had helped move into her house without a word of payment, and the other was a man whose eyes had been scarred by a mug of fired ale during a bar fight. They weren't as close to him as Derek, but who cared, they were friends!

One day, he can't remember why, he got into a fight with Gale, his rival. Something to do with bullies, he thinks. All he really knows is that at the end, sparks were flying everywhere, he felt his blood burn through his body, and he had to run as the shop burned to the ground as Gale screams "What did you do!?" at him. It was not a good day for Thales.

Friends and Foes
Saren Koethar – Friend. A woman who likes Thales' attitude, and has had the occasional drink with him.
Apoc “Lochfriend” Gredilferb the Eighth – Friend. A rather eccentric guy whose sight was saved by Thales' herbs(and lots of luck). Got his nickname because he loves swimming in lakes and hates people trying to ruin them.
Derek Lagallo – Foe. Once a childhood friend of Thales, that ended the day his father's apothecary burned to the ground. He knows Thales is responsible for it, and plans to make him pay for it.
Gale Foresstor – Rival. Competing for the chance to partner with Derek's father as a fellow apothecary, she's the one who people Thales burned down the shop in the first place, hoping he'll get imprisoned for it so she has no competition.

Woe – Thales accidentally burned down the shop of the man who was like a father too him. This weighs heavily on his heart and is one of the very few things he doesn't want to talk about.

Goals
Short – Learn how to control his magic.
Short – Contact his friends safely, letting them know he didn't mean to burn the shop down.
Short – Decide to either a place where no one knows him and hide out or to keep moving, so he's not caught and put in prison for arson.
Medium – Become a full-fledged herbalist and healer.
Medium – Do something that gets Dereck to forgive him and let them be friends again.
Long – Convince the world slavery is wrong and that they should get rid of and help those freed.

Quirks and Mannerisms: Thales has a thing for keeping things clean and orderly, a habit he picked up during his apprenticeship. Unless something really important is happening, he'll become absorbed in the habit and tune out everything else until he's done.

Sheet:

Equipment: Artisan's outfit, a sack, 2 uses of a healer's kit(herbs), 2 day's of trail rations, 20 silver and 5 copper.

Let me know if anything needs to be changed.
