"As long as Jaki gains, that is. Jaki must gain." The magpie flaps over to sit on Elfriede's shoulder.

"Jaki's a mercenary, though. You'll need to pay her. She likes shinies." Elfriede grins.

Sorry, it's been a rough last week of school, and I've been sick on top of that. I'll try to have a post up soon, if we're waiting for me.

From her corner of the glade, Elfriede watches the nixie and the lumberjacks. Negotiations broke down when she couldn’t speak Sylvan, the nixie didn’t speak any of her languages, and Corax was too stubborn to listen to reason. For the last few hours, she’s sat at the edge of the glade, just glaring at all parties.

When the people Lanyssa told her about arrive, she stands and walks over to them. Looking down toward the ground so as not to make eye contact, she starts talking softly. ”Yes, is it going to get ugly? Because if it is, I’d rather be on the side with the weapons. Lanyssa sent me to negotiate and buy some time, but there’s a language issue I can’t overcome. She’d also like me to help you, Pharasma knows why…”

She looks over her shoulder, where a magpie sits in a nearby tree. ”Do Jaki and I need to be ready to fight?”
