Eleshanto's Story:
Eleshanto was born to the caravan. Possessed of an outgoing and carefree personality, he became a “talker” for the caravan at a young age and whenever the caravan makes its way to a new town, Eleshanto is there to help reel in crowds. The bard has a gift for bally, the spiels that draw in the crowds, as well as a wide variety of small tricks and tales to help make money or distract customers (or authorities) from unwanted attention. Of course, with his dashing looks and style, the attractive Varisian sometimes brings that trouble on himself, but always seems to find a way to skate out of difficulty with both locals and caravan leaders. While confident in his own talents, he’s always careful to leave an offering for Desna at one of her roadside and wilderness shrines whenever he escapes disaster. Between towns, the young man has become a crack shot with the bow and helps to keep the caravan fed (and defended if necessary). His most prized possession is an old Harrow deck that Old Baba Marenka gave him the day before she passed. The old fortuneteller told him that one day it might save his life and Eleshanto religiously performs a Harrow reading for himself in secret each morning at dawn.
Eleshanto is excited to be making the trip to Sandpoint for the Swallowtail Festival. He’s always had a soft spot for Sandpoint and gets along with most of the town with the exception of Ven Vinder who (rightly) thinks Eleshanto has had an eye on his daughters. Eleshanto is sure this will be the trip where he finally gets his name on the wall at the Hagfish though it’s more likely he’ll just draw more good-natured ribbing from Jargie. Either way, his “yarning” will be appreciated and he’ll be sure to draw a few more locals to the caravan’s wares and performances with his self-deprecating attempt to drink Norah’s water.
