Human Knife Master/Lore Warden (rogue/fighter) 1

Elena moves opposite Chaise, slashing at the goblin but not yet having any luck.

Five foot step gives me flanking, and attack with kukri: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 Grumble

Chaise, I might be wrong but I am pretty sure you trigger no AO by entering the square.
I think I would since G-12 is diagonal from the goblin and within his reach.

Moving out of a threatened square provokes. Moving into it is harmless. Since that's where you stopped your move, you should be ok.

Staying low, Elena moves quickly towards the goblin near the dog, drawing her kukri as she moves. She throws her dagger at him when she is a few (10) feet away.

Stealth to move undetected 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Thrown dagger 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Surprise Round

Startled by the sudden appearance of goblins in the crowd, Elena draws a dagger and leans back into the shadow of the building behind her.

Should have enough cover from the building to go stealth. If not, please disregard. 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

"Wouldn't miss it for the world" Elena replies. Assuming nobody credible offers her the world, she'll be there.

"Naturally, I would do what I could to help any traveller in danger, as anyone would," Elena says. She looks up at the cathedral and shakes her head. "I confess that the first I knew of the cathedral was when I reached town a few hours ago. From what I was able to piece together of the story from your speeches this morning, it is a testament to you and your town that such an impressive structure stands here today."

Elena gives a deep bow and grins at the Mayor, or at least the right side of her face does. The left side turns up in a faint smile, the best it can manage after a childhood scuffle. Orcs will be orcs.

"It is an honor to meet you, Mayor Deverin," she says. "Elena Whetstone, at your service. The festival is truly a delight and I am happy to help in any way I can, though I may be of more use serving ale than hunting down bandits. To be sure, the roads are dangerous, but this is mostly for show." She gestures to the crossbow strapped to the back of her pack. Not trying to fool her, Elena's modesty is perfectly transparent.

Done.

I had suggested he might have known my adopted mom (Kurah), him being a studious sort like she is. I just saw it as a possible connection but it doesn't seem to have taken root. It'll die a natural death.

Elena spotted the baby dragons first, and stared for a moment in awe. Awe quickly turned to laughter as the blue one gamely struggled to get aloft with its prize. Then she saw the elf, talking to the foreign woman, and she wondered if that could be the one she was supposed to greet. A quick look around told her that this booth was the local favorite, and she got in line for salmon and mead.

In the spirit of the festivity, Elena will certainly spend part of her winnings buying treats for the kids and the game's owner. I've no idea about what's available, or what it costs, but I'd imagine some sort of candy for the kids and booze for the owner. 1gp? 2gp? 5gp? Generous, but not ridiculous. After the speeches, she gravitates towards music, if there is any, and will keep an eye peeling for a scholarly looking elf.

They had made an early start that morning to reach Sandpoint before the day was gone, and Elena had been silent and sleepy for most of the morning, but Elena brightened at the sound of the festival, and spun around with excitement as they came into the square. The music, the games, the smells of the food, and the crowds. As Wyam and Chaise went their way, she stood for a moment, soaking in the festivity until she felt positively delirious.

I promised Kurah I'd pay respects to her friend, she reminded herself, but we just arrived. He won't be expecting me, and it is a festival, after all. Besides, THAT looks like too much fun to pass up.

She strolls towards the artful dodger game.

"You'll never get a drop on me, that's how fast I am," she teases, as she walks behind the line of children with their full sacks of water. She pays her two silver and walks up to the starting line, an impudent grin on her face for the kids. "You haven't got a chance. I'm just too fast."

The man dings the bell, and Elena springs into motion... but doesn't go anywhere. Water flies through the air as the children squeeze their bags, aiming at the place she should have been.

Bluff roll to feint 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

As the kids look around, realizing what happened, Elena walks quickly down the line and picks up the bag of coins. With a broad grin and a wink, she gives a bow.

Ready to roll.

Elena wouldn't know Spectrum personally, but it's easy to imagine that Kurah, her foster mother, would have corresponded with the scholarly elf. It is possible that Kurah would have written Spectrum to advise him that Elena was coming to Sandpoint, and could he keep an eye out for her, etc.

Also ... these are some intense characters. I'm looking forward to seeing this group in action.

Well, you can't say I didn't try. ;)

'Morning all.

Just saying hello, and offering a hundred gold towards getting a wand of CLW. I was thinking of buying a couple potions, but the wand is better
Also, I had thought I might have arrived a few months ago and started working at the Rusty Dragon, but that's completely unnecessary. I'm happy to have fallen in with some adventurers on my way out of Riddleport, if that makes the group more cohesive.
The character is done (I think) except for the "extra" equipment, blankets and ropes and so forth.
