Eina grins and listens for a bit before bravado gets the best of her. With as quiet of a step as she can manage, she sneaks up to the poorly hidden chest.

Well, I think I'll wait for the GM to say how Eina messed this one up before I go any further.

Eina's going in a more blasty direction with some dips into oracle every few levels. She's going to be more reliant on her Electric Blast than her oracle spells anyway, which is usable in close quarters as a melee touch attack. She wouldn't get that much out of the staff. I dare say that Carith would find it much more useful.

When Eina joins up the others, her face is glowing red and some of the guards following her can be heard snickering about how they found her hanging from her belt off of a hook. Thud looks rather satisfied, if ansty to be out from the keep.

"Not. A. Word," is all she says to the others as she leads the wooly yak past them and through the gates.

A couple hours later, as the others grow frustrated and despair, the short young woman hands the rope that she'd been using to lead Thud by to Erodin and pulls out her staff from his pack. She makes a show of using it like a dowsing rod before pointing it down the right trail.

"Our missing treasure is that way," she says confidently as she begins to follow the tracks.

Speaking of, who's been keeping up with the treasure?

Eina spends a good portion of the night singing and dancing. The next morning, she looks tired, but happy.

"I would like to see if there is a wagon we may trade for, but that is not so important now. I will see that Thud is ready to travel."

She polishes off what is on her plate and stands with a grin as she makes for the stables.

GM, what kind of a mood is Thud in today?

"Some men are born with the talent of a skald," Eina says as she hops up on a table near those playing and looks at both Erodin and Pinto with a bemused smirk as she shakes her head at them.

"Sadly, you two cannot sing to please the crows! This is how that song should go!"

Eina bumps her tankard to theirs and downs it in a single, long pull from it. With a bow, she leaves them to their business and returns to the others. He cheeks a little pink.

"What is that saying you outlanders have about elves? Something about longbows up backsides? I thought it was a joke," she quietly tells the others before setting down and enjoying her breakfast.

When shown the map of the keep, Eina shrugs and looks to the others.

"I am fine with whatever rooms you pick. I would like them to be close, though."

Generally speaking I would put more stock into Eina's cultural leanings and her ability to adapt to new cultures as larger factors than her gender. True, but that's also within the Keep on the frontier where those things would be appreciated, even applauded, so not everyone's going to hear of her, at least for the next few levels. Even then, some will think it just stories, even though anyone that meets her is going to learn that she's not afraid to rough it or stick her neck out for her friends. Even if there's a party at the Keep, not all of the guests may be from the Keep. Some may be dignitaries from other places with less libertine views on gender roles and they'll likely take issue with the rather gregarious, strong willed storyteller and lore keeper in their midst.

Not precisely. She's 4 feet 11 inches tall. Her feet would be small even if she has a y-chromosome.

I'm not adverse to mirroring real-world time periods, though I don't do this myself. It bring sup some interesting opportunities for female PCs even. For example, how's Eina going to be received when there's some fancy party that she needs to go to?

Eina's all too happy to replace her boots with the free ones. It may take some work to find a pair that aren't too big for her, though.

Seeing the elves and their sour looks, Eina grabs a quartet of flagons and makes her way to their table exchanging salutes and jabs with the soldiers as she weaves through the crowd. With a flourish she sets three of the mugs before the elves.

"My father always said that warriors unwilling to celebrate a victory have only themselves to blame for their unhappiness. Drink and join the rest of us! We achieved a great victory against the vermin that infest this land, this is not a time for grumbling, but of celebration and bonding!"

Eina raises her mug for a toast as she smiles at the elves, waiting for them to follow suit.

Just realized that I can't really move on from here without resolving the bit with the elves. Oops.

Eina's hands crackle with blue-white sparks as she nods and begins to reach out for the closest of the eggs.

Coup de Grace on the eggs using her lightning blast.

Eina nods and makes sure any wounded are close to her as she offers a prayer to the storms that roiled endlessly over her home. She breathed easier as her own wounds were healed and smiled at Pinto.

"No, I fear I shall not grow any taller, but..." as her voice trails off, her smile fades and her eyes focus on something far away that only she could see.

"I have only known a few that could do what I did. They were the Wind Dancers. I just wish I had better control. Maybe that green-skinned fiend would be smouldering as a pile of ashes instead of running free."

As she mentions the Gremlin, her jaw clenches and hatred sparks in her eyes.

Despite the futility, Eina sends several bolts of lightning down the passage after the gremlin. Frustrated that it had gotten away, it takes a good minute for her to calm down.

"Does anyone's wounds still need mending," she asks, her voice calm and controlled, but the sparks that occasionally race down her hair give lie to that fantasy.

Eina marches up the ramp towards the gremlin, lightning gathers in her hands once more and she looses a blast at the little, green monster.

Eina growls and Moves around Erodin and the rats to get at the shaman. Her eyes glowed as she channeled the power of the storms of her homeland and flung it at the wretch.

Yeah, and thanks for treating the blast like an AoE attack. The rules state that it doesn't get the extra damage, but it still does full damage to the swarm, but hey, Rule Zero.

Eina scrambles out of the mass of biting and clawing rats, and feels her stomach lurch and heave as the smell and greasy feeling on her skin hits her.

"'Ware the rats," she gasps as she fights to keep her supper where it was.

Eina moves down the ramp to better see the closest of the grumpkins. Her steps crackled with blue-white sparks and her eyes glowed with raw power. She begins to move as if she is dancing, and with a crescendo, sends another crack through the cavern as she continues to rain a storm's wrath on these hated foes.

Irritated at her sloppy marksmanship, Eina snarls.

And something strange happens.

Thunder rumbles, like a gathering storm, sparks of blue-white dance and gather in Eina's hand as her eyes glow. She looks to one of the grumpkins, the one closest to her on the ramp that Captain Smuckers had taken, and sneers at it as she almost dismissively waves at it. A bolt of lightning leaps from her hand, streaking towards the disgusting creature...

Once everyone's in position

Eina stands at the top of the platform and twirls her staff as it glows and crackles like lightning. She slams the end of it to the floor before her with a resounding boom of thunder.

"Your blows fall like lightning! Your warcry is thunder! How many of them can we make die," she calls out, her voice ringing out through the cavern and instilling everyone with courage and strength.

Casting Bless. Everyone gets a +1 to attacks and saves vs. fear. Lasts for 10 rounds.

Eina cries for several minutes. Slowly, as the sobs fade into watery coughs and hiccups, she picks her head up off Brandt's shoulder and wipes away the tears.

"I am sorry for being so weak. Thank you for understanding. The outlanders, er, sorry, the people not from the tribes, they never understood why I was so angry and why I had such a hatred for the craven bastards. They always said, 'a pretty little thing like you shouldn't fight! Find a good husband and settle down. Raise a family.' They never understood."

She gives a snort of wry laughter and waved a hand dismissively in the air.

"And now I sound like some of their older children! What a sight I must make right now."

The big thing is that she's now a Kineticist with an electric blast. Oh and she can make things loud. :)

"The craven bastards took my family, and I will hate them for it, and I will kill them for it."

For a long moment, Eina sits there, leaning against Brandt, but before long, she reaches up and clings to him as she softly sobs into his shoulder.

"It has been three seasons, but it still hurts. I still miss them so much it hurts."

Erodin's Apology

Before, Eina had always been quick to smile and speak, telling stories and jokes. Not now. When Erodin apologizes, she looks at him sadly.

"The fault was not yours, but your blade nearly sent me to the rest of my kin," she tells him. "I would be wary when next we meet that one."

She finishes what Carith had started after thanking the priest.

Now

Eina sits away from the others, looking at a bloodstained talisman that had been cut from her clothing by Erodin's attack. Her eyes are dark and the way she mutters to herself, it's like she's somewhere else and not in the keep.

She's deep in thought and kinda reliving some stuff from her past. She'll talk if anyone comes to her.

Eina hisses in pain as one of the javelins opens up a gash on her arm. The attack had taken her by surprise, but not nearly as much as Erodin turning on her and clamping down on her neck. She drops like a puppet with its strings cut and bleeds out onto the ground.

Carith's timely aid saves her. Her eyes open, no longer blue, but dark and ominous like the bottom of a thunderhead. She rises to her feet and glares at the green-skinned, devil-faced goblin.

"Kill them. Fear nothing and kill them," she growls as the sounds of distant thunder roll over everyone within fifty feet, feeling her allies with strength and courage, and her foes with dread. Sparks of lightning dance along the limbs and weapons of everyone facing the menaces.

Casting Bless and standing. Everyone fighting the grumpkins within 50 feet of her has +1 to attacks and saves versus fear for the next 10 rounds.
