Um, should we still be going this way? I mean, I guess a horror wouldn't bother to clear the path so nicely, but I'm a little nervous about meeting new people. I guess that's what we were going to do eventually anyway.Um, does anyone know any other languages in case whoever cleared this path doesn't speak dwarf or human?
Thanks for posting the supply list again! I just looked it up myself. Are we allowed to bring a couple of things 'from home' (not on the list) if they're related to our artistic skill? I'd like to bring 3 cakes of colored ink (similar to Henna), a brush and a few needles for painting/tattoo work. I should have a full list of Dwee's choices from the supply list in the next day or two. She'll also be bringing her short sword 'Nicker', and her hand axe.

:) -I'm sure I've met everyone here, I just couldn't match names with, uh, names- heh. Thanks! I figure Dwee is the protective older sister in tiny dwarf form who is also pretty naive about how the real world works, which will work out great since I haven't finished reading up on how this world works. Lori, can Dwee have forging tools of her own? BTW, I hadn't read the information about how a karma ritual works before I wrote about Dwee almost breaking a sword like that--just an interesting coincidence. Thanks for your help! Roni/Dwee

A little player patience, a lot of GM patience and cat-herding, and it works out OK. Clearly, you are the easiest to remember, next to my husband and Lori. --Not just for the fuzziness, but also because of the style of writing. Thanx!
Would everybody be ok with signing your character name/real name on this post? I'm getting confused about who is who.
Dwee keeps her head down-even she realizes this seems silly for a dwarf-and tries to sniffle quietly while Delamater speaks, but when he turns to go, she rushes up to him and gives him a big hug, whispering something in his ear and giving him a peck on the cheek. Then she turns back and rejoins the group, eyes just as red as when she came in, but now slightly damp too. She bites her lip, and then swings her pack on her back and heads toward the door out. Spoiler: Thank you Uncle Del. I'll miss--- She stutters and sniffles, and then continues. Tell my family---<sigh>--take care of Father and Delario for me.
After Valsera speaks, she says,

That's great, but I have a more basic question: which dice do I use for each attribute? I have played a total of about 3 hours of earth dawn in my life. I undstand what exploding dice are, no problem-I played white wolf. I just need matching numbers and stats. I hate reading gaming books. Sorry if this is redundant.
As Delamater says the word Adept, it's as if Dwee's heart stops, but no, more that her whole world freezes in place. The echo of the hammer on the axe she was working still rings in her ears as Uncle Del finishes his mock speech. I know he's right. I've felt it when the fire is hot and perfect. I can see new things, I feel...tall, like a giant, like I could fill the whole smithy with the piece I'm creating and I am an extension of that piece and it's me. I'm so afraid, as I see Laren that I look away and put the axe in the water. Too soon, too soon, the metal weakens instead of solidifying, but instead of breaking, I see it mend itself in that way I've seen before, that others don't seem to notice. I keep my back to Laren, as much to hide my face, as to block the sight from him. I know he can't see it. I did this exact thing in front of him when he was first teaching me. I wasn't sure if he saw it or not since he said a bit of light flashed in his eyes. But since he said I was lucky the sword didn't break, I knew he hadn't seen it. I saw it break...
Dwee calmly puts down her tools and lifts her protective goggles, exposing the tattoo where her right eyebrow should have been. She starts to take off her heavy gloves as she takes a deep breath and turns to Laren to say,
