As much as he detest it, there simply may not be much alternative. With all the skeletons about, Durion quickly realizes he has the wrong equipment for the job. He takes a deep breath, and moves in to confront the skeletons. Club attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Male Elf Wizard (Conjurer 1)
Remembering the mishap Lanten suffered earlier in the day, Durion clarifies, "It's not necessary the undeads, but the traps that concern us at the doors." Turning to Lanten, he scratches his head as he offers his thoughts, "Given our job here at the mansion, I would consider our poking justified, even necessary, don't you think?" He tries a smile to lighten the mood of the group, the it registers on his face as an awkward grimace.
Male Elf Wizard (Conjurer 1)
Seeing nothing to hide for the job, Durion fills in any gaps Lanten leaves out. Between the two of them, they manage to provide an accurate picture of the events that transpired earlier at the mansion. Then, he studies the reactions of the potential new comrades and leaves the follow-through to Lanten. Please review the sequence of posts to see what did in fact transpire :)
Male Elf Wizard (Conjurer 1)
Durion nods in agreement of Lanten's assessment of their progress thus far. His read of the situation indicates a delicate situation. He concludes he best let Lanten do the talking, and avoids disrupting Lanten's attempts to appease their employer, and keeps quiet for the moment.
Male Elf Wizard (Conjurer 1)
Strange, a friendly and polite dwarf, Durion thought to himself. Then he thought of how he's known people to describe him, in stark contrast to the fluidly taking, elegent manner so typically attributed to elves, and chuckles. He grabs his drink and plate and joins Lanten and the dwarf as Lanten describes their predicament.
Male Elf Wizard (Conjurer 1)
"A wet goblin?" Durion responds in puzzlement, before catching on and shaking his head over such a strange reference. "I do agree. Without the support of a cleric this endeavor would go from hazardous to deadly in a hurry. I wonder where we can get such help." Durion sighs as he ponders the group's predicament. He hopes Jane gets well as well, for Durion has determined her to be most competent, and had hoped for more chances to work with her down the road.

I'm still laughing over this post. I think four is a good number as well, especially if we've got a cleric built for the front lines. If we do opt for a fifth (not necessary yet - we'll see after we deal with a few encounters, though), I'd vote a martial type. But, like I said, I think we can do with what we have and see how it goes first. And, if we really need it, I suppose we could "buy" (adopt) a guard dog and I'll sink a point or two into handle animal. It'd be fun to have a dog that won't listen (but will still fight since her life would depend on it as well). The dog would be "competent" until about level 3 or 4, when her abilities start to lag too much and she becomes more of a hinderance than help.

Durion agrees. The combat got slow due to lack of mass undead destruction. Level 1 vs 24 undead creatures, no matter their level, without a cleric blasting away is simply not a good thing. Can we just have our now defunct cleric blast them away (I don't know how many channels she has left), or have us high-tail out of there, and have us retreat back to the inn, where some can bade us farewell and we can be left stewing if others will join us?
Male Elf Wizard (Conjurer 1)
Durion shifts in the back row, constantly seeking a gap and taking shots as he finds one. Again, if there's a clear shot at one, Durion moves around in the back to try to find the gap and take it. Touch Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
I've probably used up about 1/2 my daily allotment by now. I'll go back and get a more accurate count later so that I don't overstep my daily count. And yes, we really can use a cleric here. This would be so over with one blasting away with the channeling.

I believe my action from the earlier post is for this turn. If not, let me know, and Durion is repeating the same action (he's a squishy wizard who prefers not to be within swinging range of the baddies). The item is a pathfinder conjurer ability: Acid Dart - Unleash an acid dart on a foe within 30 ft. as a ranged touch attack. Deals 1d6 (+1/2 levels, so +0 for now) acid damage. Standard action. 7 times/day. (PFCR 80). (PFCR 79-82). Gerald, we'll miss you!

Durion frowns as he realizes the cramped space is really minimizing what they can do as a group effectively. He continues to stay back while looking for a clear shot at the skeletons. Again, if there's a clear shot at one, Durion takes it. Otherwise he continues to wait and let the heavy hitters do their work. Touch Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

I'm a bit nervous as I'm sensing our DM may be losing interest in this game. If there's anything we can do to keep the game interesting for you, Mr. DM, please let us know. Otherwise, we are waiting for skeletons to beat on us before we make our next set of turns. It means skipping Jane for a turn, but I think she'd understand in the interest of keeping the game going.
Male Elf Wizard (Conjurer 1)
I think Wulfie and Jane can squeeze in a turn if they show up and post before Relayer posts for the skeletons. Otherwise, It's Relayer, and then all of us again (Durion, Elena and Wulfie at the bottom of the turn, followed by Jane, Lanten, Darius and Ammian at the top of the next turn. Edited to add: Wulfie mentioned casting Mage Hand in an earlier post. I assume he has a follow up in mind for the next round. That leaves Jane as the only one needing an action before the skeletons have their move again.
Male Elf Wizard (Conjurer 1)
Durion waits for the team to shuffle themselves, all the while looking for a clear lane to fire off an acid dart at the skeletons. If there's a clear shot at one, Durion takes it. Otherwise he waits and lets the heavy hitters do their work. Touch Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Male Elf Wizard (Conjurer 1)
Durion curses at the cramped space and the lack of a clear line of attack as he waits for the comrades ahead of him to sort themselves out. "Get the door open further! Melee by the doors! Range further back and fire into the room!" Trying to get meleer's to position themselves at B(-1) and D(-1), the range types at B(-2) and D(-2), and the cleric somewhere like C(-2). It might be too late, but that's the tactic Durion envisions with his intelligent but amateur eyes as the scene becomes clear to him. As it is, Durion can't fire into the cramped space with someone already just inside the door. So, he cusses and lets this round go.
Male Elf Wizard (Conjurer 1)
"Indeed, Elena. The numbers are not with us." Durion studies the room, ateempting to recall the prior skeletal room for comparison. "If they were to attack, we may be able to use this doorway as a choke point, which is to our advantage. What I want to know is, what is the purpose of all these skeletons?"
Male Elf Wizard (Conjurer 1)
In the d20pfsrd, under the cleric description, it states the cleric can CHOOSE to affect either the living or the undead. So I would interpret it as one or the other, but not both. Thank you indeed, Jane. Durion calls forth arcane sight, and looks about the room for traces of magic about the room.
Male Elf Wizard (Conjurer 1)
Durion studies the room from where he is, his body tensing in expectation that the skeletons may move at any time. His hand instinctively reaches and readies the club, although he has long trained himself to consider such brute weapons a choice of last resort. Readied Action
Male Elf Wizard (Conjurer 1)
After inspecting the contraption, he speaks the obvious, "it looks ordinary enough, as far as top-notch teleportation contraptions go. Perhaps we can check the exit and see if the culprit left any clues or tracks for us." Turning back, he addresses the spirit, "Anything else you can think of before we begin this hunt? Names of people who may want to see you dead, or have reason to want your sourl, or any soul, for that matter?"
Male Elf Wizard (Conjurer 1)
Durion makes a mental note to look into the distinction between the spirit and the soul, as demonstrated by the phenomenon before him. Suppressing his academic interest, he speaks up, "Answers to Elena's questions would prove helpful. Please give us any information you can that may help us find and transport your soul here." Finding that, yet again, he is in agreement with Elena, Durion makes a second note to inquire if Elena will be looking for an adventuring comrad when this is all over.
Male Elf Wizard (Conjurer 1)
That's fine. Feel free to roll my initiative for me. I'm glad I'm finally on your radar, Wulfie :). Durion still has no deity. He is searching, and may be converted yet...someday (read, I haven't had a chance to look at that list yet even its location in the book was pointed out to me).
