Qresh has also left 500 gold. Decide in character how to split or spend it. Whoever makes the most from the matches will get a souvenir from Qresh when he returns.

The bloodpits are where slaves are bought and sold to fight in gladiatorial games hosted by different leagues. Many of the weaker slaves are bought as fodder to go up against impossible enemies. There are monsters as well that are fought in the pits. Minotaurs, ogres and even a beholder have fought in the pits.

Today is the first day of the gladiatorial trials of combat. They are staged in the fighting pits of the Shackle Ward. Qresh has left a small chest with a note pinned to it with a stiletto. If read,

Thuban, It is time for me to travel to waterdeep. I have arranged business there. I trust you make yourselves useful in my absence. I've left some money for you to bet in the bloodpits! Do whatever you can my sons and daughters to leave with more than you entered with. I will bring a souvenir to the one who makes me the most! May fortune be with you!

In the chest you find 500 gold pieces and the stiletto itself is of rather ornate crafting. The pommel of the stiletto has the head of a cat carved into it. There is a scorpion symbol painted on the cat's forehead. It is the symbol of a well known criminal organization built around the gladiatorial matches, the Black Sting.

Welcome to the city of intrigues! This game will revolve around a party of evil aligned characters who must further the goals of their organization while balancing power. If anyone is going to make direct attempts on the lives of other pc's please post in the discussion thread and talk about how it'll further the storyline. There will not be any completely secret actions but please do not meta-game based on actions not known to your character. I may change the secret actions rule in the future if players agree that it'll be more fun.

Haboob Niraf-al-tajh is the mysterious liaison between the Muzad and the Thuban. Only Haboob has walked it's dark passages and seen it's dark secrets. As a slave he learned hatred for his masters and when he became a young man he was approached by a shadowy figure who released him from bondage. The monk said that he had sensed the hatred in Haboob and deemed him worthy to enter the temple of old night. There he was taught the secrets of shadow and assassination. The Order of Dark Moon answer to no one, not even the clergy of the church, their orders coming directly from their Lady of Loss. Haboob presents himself as a sorcerer, carrying a quarterstaff and wearing simple robes. To the others Haboob is but a stranger who Qresh trusts for unknown reasons. His ability and strange power have not been witnessed and the other members find little reason to care for or trust him.

Liera yr Kalik is the newest member of the Thuban. A young woman with a disdain for wizards, she was once lieutenant of an elite Amlakkar task force within the Wizard Ward. She joined when she had come of age , spurred by the death of her father who was murdered by a rogue mage. One night, while sleeping in her room, she awoke to a horrifying commotion. She ran to her father's room only to find him burning alive amongst his silk pillows and sheets. His slave scribe, Taraj adh Kalik, had secretly been learning magic unbeknownst to his master and out of jealous love for his master's concubine cast a fire spell that ignited the sheets. Liera watched in horror, unable to help her father, while the scribe ran and jumped from the window. She soon found herself in the Amlakkar, learning to counter magics with arcane and martial arts. One day, she fell in love with the son of a Druzir that ruled her precinct. They tried to keep the affair secret but she was soon approached by her Captain, a strict and overbearing mage who had been scrying upon her nights with the young prince. In her rage she assaulted the Captain after being confronted, nearly killing him with her mageslaying techniques. Fearing imprisonment, she fled to the docks and booked passage on a ship to Waterdeep. Fate would have it that it was Qresh's very own Schooner, the Bahr Sharmotah(Sea b$@#!). During a sudden pirate raid Qresh witnessed the battle prowess of the young woman and her magical powers. He offered her a place in his network as an enforcer and spy.

The Thu'ban El-Qreshi, the snakes of Qresh, are made up of a handful of skilled and dangerous criminals. Faruq El-bashir has known Qresh the longest. The Hook Ward is home to the skilled thief, having grown up on the busy streets, he knows its roads and passageways by heart. He was raised by a simple fishmonger and prostitute who lived in crushing poverty. With burning hunger he spent most of the day begging for money till in desperation he began to pilfer coin from the dignitaries that congregated around the many embassies of the Errare Sabban. One day while following a flamboyantly dressed and bejeweled captain, he dared to snatch a bit of coin from his purse and to his suprise the man whirled about and snatched his hand, lifting him into the air. Faruq kicked and scratched but the much younger then Qresh just laughed. Impressed by the spirit of the boy he offered him food and took him under his wing. He was given work delivering messages and running packages to shady men, learning to read and recognize the symbols of thieves' cant. Overtime the boy earned a bit of his own coin and began catering to the decadent members of the church of Sharess, offering Tekkil leaf while stealing from the exhausted and drugged celebrants.

Next, the story of Liera yr Kalik

The safehouse is a 20x20 foot room containing a long table where mugs, daggers and a few loose coppers are sprawled on its wooden top. A map of the Hook Ward hangs on the western wall above a small table for two where a Shatranj game board sits, the pieces locked in a stalemate between the emerald and ruby kingdoms. The air is damp and a draft blows from a passage leading further down, winding towards the south where it opens below the docks. An old smuggler's tunnel used by Qresh to steal cargo from ship's docked at night. With a few bribed sailors in Waterdeep they arrange to have crates of the more valuable cargo dropped down to a small skiff and the inventory forged by the bribed sailors to hide their misappropriation. Along the passage to the sea are small stockrooms where the stolen goods are stored and then taken to be sold in the Black Bazaar at cutthroat prices.

Calimport is a tangled web of intrigue filled with a chaotic network of streets and walls that even locals find themselves lost within. The city is divided into wards(districts) and each ward divided into sabbans(towns) which are comprised of 3-5 drudachs(villas), each subdivision encapsulated by yet more walls. Only the exalted nobles, land owning citizens, are allowed to walk along the wall paths while the rest of the population who are but slaves must travel in the grimy streets congested with carts and bazaars.

The shining jewel of the city is the massive port that is home to hundreds of ships from all over Faerun. It is said the docks of Calimport have the most of everything. The Hook ward contains the shipyards and welcomes the many sailors, merchants and visitors that have come to Calimport. At night, ships are greeted by the temple of Selune in the Osiir sabban;Piqaz Drudach, which serves as an unofficial lighthouse reflecting moonlight across the docks with a great mirror. All captains who dock in the port must first register in the Osiir Sabban also known as the Harbor Sabban and it is therefore to many the true entrance to the city. It is here that one would be the first to hear of the newest shipments and visitors to the city and it is here that the Thuban Qreshi have coiled around the pillars of the docks.

Along the wall, opposite the temple of Selune, within the Enqir Drudach sits the entrace to the Temple of Old Night below, the guarded access to the Muzhujaarnadah, city of shadows, most commonly known as the Muzad, Calimport Below, Dark Calimport. The temple entrance attracts many shady characters who skulk at night and offer contacts into the Muzad for the criminal undeground. Across the street sits a nondescript, two story building, a simple warehouse, owned by the smuggler Qresh who stores his ill-gotten goods. Within Qresh's warehouse there is a tapestry half blocked by a stack of crates behind which is hidden a passageway leading to a safehouse where the Thuban operate, a small time gang of misfits and adopted sons/daughters of Qresh.

Deep within the deserts of Calimshan, the spinning keep of Siri'wadjen hovers above burning sands and seas of glass. Within the walls of its arcane mazes and elemental wards the Calimemnon crystal glows with red, blue and purple energies forever at war with itself. Upon one of it's thousand facets a tiny crack has formed and from it a river of fire and wind flows forth, pouring into the sky, filling it with violent red clouds. Over Calimport, the city of splendors, fire rains down upon the the domed buildings and towering minarets. The archmages of the wizard ward feebly tried to hold back the power of Memnon as many of the outer wards began to burn when finally a great tempest rose from the sea and formed a barrier across the sky. For days the storm raged and after many nights the Skyfire subsided only to return and be held at bay once again by the tempest. After months of the war in the skies the archmages began to predict the patterns in the strange weather, using their knowledge of ancient magic to predict it's chaotic patterns. The people of Calimport have learned to live with the chaos and many have come to the city from afar to study the strange phenomenon. The archmages have claimed they alone held back the skyfire but rumors are quickly spreading that it is the return of Calim that has saved them from the wrath of Memnon.

Yep just like that, and you can add your other rogue abilities on there and a character background if you'd like.

Im a witch cartomancer archetype. I throw cards to deliver touch attacks and hex it up. I was thinking for my character concept instead of witches cackle he shuffles his spell deck all magic like there by resetting the fate of those hes hexed.
