'That's why we're here, as I understand it. How long until you get enough of your folk together to pass judgement? I don't relish spending more time than I have to in all this.' Dugan gestures all around, slightly exasperated.

'I don't know many specifics, but I know the lumber bastards to be piss-poor hosts. They never bother to even try to treat me decent. Most of what I know is there in them books.'
'Aw, sure, but that building has to be big enough to give 'em all space to do their thing?' Dugan argues, throwing a thumb towards a warehouse dominating the block the group is traversing.
Dugan nods dumbly at Aleksey's suggestion. The sheer press of humanity causes the dwarf a great amount of distraction and he marvels at the diversity of buildings in the city. 'Why can't you just put all the gods in one temple? Do they all really need their own?'
Dugan thanks Humphrey for his offer, but ultimately leaves empty handed. He hands Mendel a gold coin with a tut, and then settles in for the voyage. 'Be nice to relax and enjoy the river.'
'If you don't mind me getting a bit of practice in with it, I'd be more than happy to. I don't want to lead you on, I'm very coin poor at the moment. Too many mouths to feed. I don't know that I could offer you enough for it.' Dugan says, casting longing glances at the bow.
Dugan wanders the shop, listening to Humphrey's advice on Almas before stopping awhile before a display of bows. He takes a few in hand, strings them, tests their draw, and finally finds one to his liking. His hand goes to his coin pouch as he continues to admire the weapon and his face sinks as he feels it's lightness. Sheepishly, he returns to bow to it's display and steps back.
Dugan, with his thirst ever so briefly slated, follows along contentedly. He enthusiastically returns the shopkeep's handshake and sets to perusing the man's wares. 'Not sure what I'm looking for, but I'll know it when I see it.'
'You imagine this place has a half decent brewer? I'd buy a barrel but settle for a sip at this point.' Dugan scans the market stalls thirstily as they make their way through.
Dugan digs in the purse at his hip and produces a small handful of coins. 'To feed you and the babe.'
Dugan stops and turns at the door to the farmhouse, standing vigil as Aleksey further tends to the woman and child's comfort. 'You wouldn't happen to have a spot of drink squirreled away in there would you? I'd settle for a thimble of that thin elven piss-wine at this point.' Dugan asks over his shoulder hopefully. 'Feels like it's been months since my last sip...' He grumbles to himself.
Hearing the infant's first cries in this world Dugan breathes a sigh of relief. As Aleksey cleans himself from his task Dugan sheepishly approaches the woman and sneaks a glance at the boy. 'Good lungs on him.' At Aleksey's suggestion he's snapped from his admirational trance and sets to breaking down what they'd made of a camp and readies to get the woman home.
Dugan keeps a good distance between himself and the birthing scene. His dwarf eyes, still fairly keen in the gathering evening darkness, scan the horizon keeping watch for any threats but the worried glances he casts to where Aleksey works with the woman betray where his true unease lies. Occasionally muttering about 'Midwife's curses.'
'If one of you wants to see to her I can keep an eye out.' Dugan offers, not being much use when it comes to medicine.
'I can see reasonably well, should we put in and see if we can help?'
'Well, that's a pretty beasty! You think it can swim?' Dugan has spent the journey basking in the sun, enjoying the leisurely pace.

'Do you have people? With what you have there we could easily get you back with them. Maybe not right away, but as soon as we're done with what we're doing.'
Dugan is fine with it as well. He's more interested in finding the treasures than keeping them honestly.
Dugan barks a laugh at the man's outburst directed at his companions and himself. 'Dwarf! I got off pretty easy.' His mood sobers slightly as the man seizes and collapses. He watches with mild concern as Aleksey attempts to revive the treasure-maddened man and eventually helps lower the body into the freshly dug grave.
Dugan leans in and whispers low 'Now, hang on, we didn't talk about going to no Shackles...'
Dugan stands nearby the interrogation, ready to grab the assassins if she should try to run.
'We could lock her up down where we found the fish-man.' Dugan offers.
'Imagine there is a treasure, though? It'd be a nice break from paddling to go on a treasure hunt with a madman.' Dugan muses.
Dugan slowly walks out from the building, keeping an eye on the branches on the roof to quickly react if needed to save the structure while he recovers from the exertion of combat.
Dugan steps forward and strikes one of the men attempting to grapple Ulark.
Dugan moves out into the storm mixing the elemental wrath of the weather blend in with his own growing anger at his pleasant, dry evening being interrupted by low assassination attempts. He hacks at the nearest enemy with Glintax.
Dugan nods, throws open the door and advances, shield up, leading Ulark towards the nearest enemy.
'Bar the door! We'll deal with these and then the drowned rats outside!' Dugan says, whirling to charge the insectoid looking attackers.
Dugan nods along behind Ulark. 'We killed plenty in our time together, but as we, and your law see it, they all had it coming.'
Dugan follows Ulark towards the door, Glintaxe in hand.
Sorry to see you go Inconnu, but totally understandable. I'm sorry for your loss Vayelan.
'What in the Hells is that?' Dugan asks and begins making his way back upstairs.
'I guess he didn't consider people coming down here and you telling them about the treasure' Dugan says, turning his nose up at the spoiled drink.
'Well, there's the fish part of you. I was beginning to be a bit disappointed based on what I'd heard.' Dugan begins rapping on the casks and barrels to see if any have anything in them.
Seeing Aleksey make for the cellar, Dugan stands to follow. He leans in conspiratorially and asks 'You think he's got a bit to drink squirreled away down there as well?' The religious discussion clearly going over his head.
Dugan grumbles shortly over the lack of proper hydration but quickly falls to quietly arranging himself as comfortably as possible in the former Inn.
'You wouldn't happen to have any drink laid in you'd be willing to part with for a bit of coin, would you?' Dugan asks hopefully. 'Been a hard paddle getting here.'
'It's not bad, though.' Dugan moves forward as well, shield and axe at the ready, and calls out. 'Pretty good. You practice that?'
Dugan eyes the dark interior with caution.
'Don't have much love for slavers.' Dugan grumbles as he continues his progress towards the shuttered building.
Dugan nods at both suggestions. 'Building's not going anywhere.'
With that done he nods towards the shuttered building. 'Now, about saying hello...' And he sets off to do just that.

Dugan, freed of having to find shelter, sets about securing and attempting to conceal the canoe. He studies the sky as he works trying to determine if he'll have time for a quick hunt before taking shelter.
'Agreed' Dugan says simply.
'If we put in on the shore somewhere I can look around for some form of shelter if you all want to see to the canoe.'
'Dugan.' The dwarf at the stern of the canoe says by way of greeting. 'Now that we're all familiar do we want to get back to paddling?'
Dugan eyes the water rushing past the side of the canoe uneasily for the first time since they departed. He has been seeming to enjoy the trip down the river and the strain of steering the large vessel through the various hazards along the river but the thought of having to stand and fight in the middle of the river has drained most of that exuberance. 'I'll take any help you got.' When the keelboats have gotten within shouting range, the dwarf calls out, 'We're just passing through, no cargo!'
Dugan, eager to be off his feet for awhile, takes a position at the stern of the canoe, taking charge of the longer steering paddle.
