"I do know something about the art of tracking hopefully i can find their trail at the edge of town. So i'll go have a look around while the others here make their minds up which way out of town did the locals tell you he went?" Assuming he was given the information Dren will gather his gear and head to the edge of town to look around the area in question looking for tracks that lead off into the forest, tracks that return from the forest and any other signs of passage in the last couple of days. Survival (track)1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
I'm guessing the village isn't walled in any way let me know if i am wrong :) "Well we could start by asking the local fishermen they may have seen a rowboat beached up or down the coast. We could also ask around outside of town a lone traveler walking towards the village would have stood out in some folks eyes even asking around to see if anyone new is in town wouldn't hurt."Dren will glance over at the boss and continue, "The big question is do we sneak off now or wait till the bar closes."
"I see no problems with helping to find this thief as long as the boss is happy with it." Looking over at his drunken employer he'll continue with a smile, "and judging by his condition offer him a drink and he should be ready to agree to almost anything." "What can you tell us about this Gnoxhelm?"
"Well I've had to use the sap more often than I'd like but thankfully all my bladework has been practice since i got a berth here."Drendek will laugh good naturedly as he continues. "In truth I favor a much bigger sword but the boss feels it's a bit off putting for the staff to carry blades bigger than he is!" After the brief amusement he'll call over to Vorian, "how about something lively mate!"
Hearing Kassara's request Dren will smile and comment to the sailors " I must know that song nearly as well a Vorian there does by now, we hear it at least once a night. Still its not a bad tune although I fer one prefer his shanties." Returning to his conversation with the captain Dren will say "I've been here ever since they pulled me from the bay, just after the bad storms last year, and the boss took me in. Kass joined us a few weeks back 'cause while i'm handy at hauling cargo and drunks I'm not much of a looker and don't nearly attract the customers like she can." He finishes the comment with a fond smile in Kasasara's direction secure in the knowledge that while Vorian is singing she'll never see him.
I'll take 10 on profession (sailor) if thats ok for 16 if not then 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 Moving slowly across to the sailor's table, Dren will wait until they have answered Kassara's questions before speaking to them. "The hardware should be unnecessary here mates, still yer welcome to the Keg. The boss should be over soon as he likes to share a drink with newcomers." Dren will smile at this point and continue "I assume yer new in port what vessel do you serve on?"
On the assumption that the locals don't usually come to the tavern armed in such a manner Dren will call Kassara over warning her quietly "Kassara, there are some armed folks heading this way, it may be nothing but best be prepared for trouble."He will then move over to near the door where his room is nd watch the tavern from there.
Drendek will chuckle and say " There was a time in my life where clean would have been a suprise let alone colorful Ms Twistletrinket. Besides few of us would look as good bedecked in such a rainbow of colors." Reaching the door Dren will stick his head outside to check the comming weather look around the street and get a breath of fresh air. Perception to look around just in case :)1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Dren is a rather unatractive hulk of a man standing well over 6 foot tall with a distinct rolling gait that easily marks him as a sailor. He sports a neatly trimmed goatee beard and shaves his scalp daily as well as 3 hooped earings in his left ear of iron, copper, and silver.Dren likes to wear simple homespun shirts, leather trousers, and sturdy boots that reach to his mid calf, accented with a sash of green silk for a belt he always carries a dagger and a sap on his belt with a backup in his boots and always wears a cestus on his sword hand. The huge man enters from the storeroom with a barrel of Ale held on each shoulder large enough that most folks would have trouble with one. He nods pleasantly to anyone that greets him but speaks little as he delivers his cargo behind the bar, smiles, and comments to the barstaff "Well that should keep us going for a couple more hours, well maybe an hour at the rate the boss is drinking it." He then weaves his way through the crowd towards the door moving with a grace that ill-suits a man of his size but shows his elven blood better than his shaprly pointed ears could ever do.
I think it would be a good idea to flesh out how the characters know each other ,if at all. As said above Kassara and i work together and considering she is probably rather attractive Dren probaly would end in in the big brother role fending off advances from customers (he's fairly aware he is no looker so wouldn't have tried himeslf :)). I'm gonna assume unless told otherwise we work at the Kegs'n'bottles due to the easier adventure hooks for garabbott there so we would know Vorian from his performing and Talison as a frequent customer. Kassara would probably have more reason to know Pai than Drendek does although it amuses me that she is the one who suggested and supplied the green silk sash he wears at his waist. Of couse these are only suggestions i'm open to other (and probably better) ideas.
You use the BBCode tags [*dice*] 1d20+4[*/dice*] without the stars any dice you need you just type the 1d?and the modifier so Drendek's Perception Roll 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13or
The BBCode button below the box you type your post in probably demonstrates it better than i do :)
Hi Drendek's style will be two weapon. Anything you can tell us about the village would make fleshing out the characters easier i think also if you want to make suggestions for changes i'm all ears as such :) For everyone else unless Garabbott says otherwise Drendek is a huge half elven man with little of the grace and none of the looks of his elven heritage he's been living and serving in the local inn for the past year or so after having washed up near the village after a terrible storm.
