Yes, I know this is an Old question, done to death and I know there are other threads. But in the interest of not resurrecting them, I created this.
HOWEVER - I want an Official answer, not to be a Munchkin, not to be full of cheese. I just want to know how this actually works.
I do not want spam or opinions, I want cold hard facts.
By RULES AS WRITTEN does this actually work or not.
Lastly where is the ERRATA to fix this? People Cite Developer notices, and other facts, but they never link them. So they do not exist until publicly made available. Not hidden away on the depths of the abyss known as the Internet.
So the statements go as follows.
#1 : I DO NOT WANT SPAM / OPINIONS, just FACTS.
#2 : If it's not RAW or DEVELOPER / PAIZO - It does not exist.
#3 : FACTS are not links to other "dead" threads. They are reference materials from RAW / PAIZO.
Heighten Spell - METAMAGIC FEAT
Magic Lineage - TRAIT
- - -
General Idea ::
Heightened 1st level spell to 2nd level spell. I.e. Magic Missile as a 2nd level spell.
Magical Lineage decreases the Metamagic level increase of Heighten Spell.
Magic Missile, 2nd level spell cast from a 1st level spell slot.
- - -
Now, someone explain with RAW, if this is how it works.
If so, can Heighten Spell allow you to cast spells of a level, where you do not have slots?
Yes, I know there was an FaQ about being able to cast spells of that slot, however does Heighten / Magical Lineage use a lower slot or not, if so, how does not having a level 2 slot work?
If this is not how it works, and it works as the following
- - -
Translated into Laymen :
Heighten Spell is a Feat Tax, that allows you to use lower level spells in higher level slots, to allow you to have higher save DCs and Penetration.
- - -
If this is so, why did they not just errata Heighten Spell? As this reading of Heighten Spell, it doesn't require Spell Increase and thereby eliminating the Magical Lineage / Heighten spell conundrum. Does anyone have a RAW or PAIZO answer to this? Without hearsay or opinions being thrown about.
This question will probably not be answered, due to the fact that no one seems to be able to think Objectively about the subject.
