Hey all,

GM's right, I'm going to have to step out. Work is busy, and not getting less so in the foreseeable future. It's been good, and I've enjoyed playing.

Side note, I'm in Indiana, so if anybody is headed to GenCon, and needs a place to crash, let me know.

Init +6 / -9/10 HP /17 AC (T 17; FF 13) / CMD 18 (Grp 20) / CMB +4 (+6) / F+4, R+4, W+5 / Perc +7

Stabilize DC 10 (con - neg hp): 1d20 + 2 - 8 ⇒ (12) + 2 - 8 = 6

Drakar continues to bleed heavily.

Init +6 / -9/10 HP /17 AC (T 17; FF 13) / CMD 18 (Grp 20) / CMB +4 (+6) / F+4, R+4, W+5 / Perc +7

I'm back! Sorry I dropped off the world there. Was on vacation, and didn't have my computer charger with me.

Anyway, I'll be over here in the corner, bleeding out.

Init +6 / -9/10 HP /17 AC (T 17; FF 13) / CMD 18 (Grp 20) / CMB +4 (+6) / F+4, R+4, W+5 / Perc +7

Whoo! A combat I get to participate in! :P

And a grapple to boot:
Step 1: move to opponent
Step 2: Initiate Grapple
Step 3: ????
Step 4: there are only 3 people on earth that know what happens after a grapple is started

Also, not to bury the lede, but I'm on the road, so my posting schedule will be a little erratic, but I think I can check in each 24 hrs or so.

Drakar leaps on top of the human, planting a foot on each of his arms, and reaches down to cover the man's mouth. "Dead men tell no tales, but wounded men shriek," he whispers at the threshold of hearing.

Grapple vs. CMD: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

I'm onboard with a CLW wand. Rest of plan sounds good to me, but I'll let someone else take the lead on moving out. Who wants to carry the wand? It's on my spell list

Drakar's ears ring as he comes to, after blacking out for a bit. He lays on the ground and clenches a fist, as he prays to Pharasma to cure his wounds. "Ooowww." He "Ow." slowly "Ow." stands "Ow." up, and sees the motionless halfling laying there. "Is he dead? I hope he's not dead, because if he stabbed me and we don't get anything out of it, I'll..." he drifts off as blood loss clouds his brain. "Well, I guess I can't do much to him, but Aroc will pay."

@Amari: I am also in favor of not-murder. NG is an unusual alignment for me to be, and I suppose I should give it a good run for it's money.

Also, it would appear that I'm totally monologing

If Drakar notices any of the others, he will keep a wide berth, but slowly circle around the halfling, trying to be on the opposite side of anybody he notices. Otherwise he'll stand there, hands still raised non-threateningly.

"I know dead men spend no coin. And you should fear us because we are here. This is what has changed."

"Until now, Aroc has been a gnat to us. And he still is, but now we feel like swatting. He isn't any more important, no better. no more powerful." Drakar widens his hands in a full body shrug "He's just next on the list now. The Shadows are damn good at what we do, and we've gotten rid of enough bigger threats that we have teams available to clean up small operations like this one."

Drakar bobbles his head side to side. "I would say that Aroc's unlucky, but he's not. He's been betting with borrowed gold for a while now, hoping that we wouldn't notice him. You however, have a chance at a jackpot... well, as much of a jackpot as anybody in your organization is going to get. You at least get a chance."

Drakar thinks for a short moment, "And if you do try to fight me, you'll have at least seen the face of the one who kill you."

I'm okay with retconning Amari's interaction to be while I was waiting, if they want to come join me outside

As the halfling walks out the door, Drakar raises his hands and mutters a quick prayer (Detect magic, pointed towards the halfling), and follows the halfling out. As he proceeds down the alley, he puts his hands up, to show that they are empty, and walks slowly towards the halfling. "Hi, sorry about the trickery, but I didn't know if you would trust me. I don't mean you any harm right now, and really, I don't want to. I needed to get you by yourself so that I could talk to you without anybody listening. You never know who is working for Aroc." He pauses and shrugs, Well, I guess I know you work for Aroc. But I think I can give you a better offer. Aroc is being hunted by Shadows, so he's not long for this world. Neither is anybody who defends him. But if you help us bypass his defences, I can make a case for clemency for you."

He looks down at the halfling, "You have a choice here. Aroc is going to die. Shadows don't fail, and they don't give up. Is the little gold he gives you really worth your life?"

How do I keep getting put in face situations? I am literally the ugliest dragon.

Also, paying someone to lie for me is never a bad idea.

Drakar thinks shamefully of the poor performance he put on last night, and decides to not confront the halfling directly, rather, he pulls out a piece of paper, and scribbles on it,

Note:
Meet me behind the tavern in 5 minutes. Your life depends on it. Your partner is planning on double-crossing you.

Drakar waits for a group of people to leave, and then flags down the barkeep. Quietly, "There's a gold in it for you if you hand this note to the halfling over there, and tell him that the person who gave it to you was the fat human who just left."

If the halfling gets up, I'll follow him out. Bluff is -2, Linguistics a +0, if either of those would be appropriate here.

Never played Andromeda. haven't even gotten started on 3 yet. My hard drive took a cataclysmic failure, and about 200 hrs of ME1+2 with it.

Drakar double checks the prisoner's bindings, and makes sure that if he wakes up before expected he won't make much noise, before heading downstairs again for lunch. This time he's a bit more subtle, picking a table off to the side, and pretending to not watch the halfling, or who he's talking to.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

If the halfling takes off, I'll follow, stealthily if possible, but not to the point of losing him

Yeah. He's Wyvaran. I've got his sheet off-line, but it's taking me a little while to get it formatted onto the boards. (If anybody has suggestions, I'd appreciate it).

In training, Drakar would have been the one who never hesitated to rush into a situation, confident that he could fight his way out if needed, or at least turn around fast enough if things were way out of hand. He doesn't always resort to violence, but it's a pretty good first and last solution to more problems than people give it credit for. Definitely overconfident though.

Drakar bares his teeth at the woman in a what could be generously interpreted as a smile, and offers, "I'm sorry about my behavior last night, by the way. Your drink was excellent, and I had too much."

Heading upstairs, he looks at the door excitedly, when he sees the others standing around it being suspiciously quiet and armed. He lowers his shoulder, and points to it, and then the door, then makes and exploding motion with his hands, before punching the air a bunch of times, and placing his hand on his hips, with the same terrifying "smile", nodding his head eagerly.

Still here, still interested. Just getting back into the swing after a few years off boards.

Drakar also totters down the stairs, and orders a snack and a hair of the mutt to help ease his headache. "What's the plan?" he mumbles to the others as he eats the bread whole, then chases it down with yogurt and the drink in quick succession. "I'd be all in favor of making a convincing speech. I know that it didn't work last night, but I think that was because I was using the wrong accent. Nobody is going to believe me as Katapeshi, but I think I could pass for Qadiran if I just make my voice a little more nasally." He tilts his head up and makes his best efforts he as says this last sentence, but can see that nobody can hear a difference. "Or we can break some doors. That usually works too."

Those days when you forget that you're not a face, but you've a;ready committed to a bad idea...

@Lo'Lann Thanks for the suggestion about italics. The last PBP that I ran was on ENWorld, which uses the full bbcode options.

I don't know about you all,, Drakar growls as he jumps up off the bed that he was napping on, but I'm here to do a job.

As he walks out of the room, he looks over his broad shoulder, and mentions, and right now, that job involves going out, getting rowdy, and having some fun. So who's with me?

He taps himself on the chest [color=#996633](Guidance)[/color] as he heads downstairs to the tavern, and beings ordering a few rounds for the people next to him, letting them know that he's from out of town, and here on business, as an importer of rare and interesting goods, and that if anybody could put in a good word for him with the tariff officers, he'd definitely let them know how much he appreciates it.
