Doran is a massive man even by Ulfen standards. He wears heavy plate armor and wields an enormous great sword with an almost comically broad blade. When his helmet isn't worn you can see that he has a rugged viking-esque face with a heavy square jaw beneath a long blonde beard which he wears in several braids. He tends to come across as overzealous in almost everything he does, be it conversation, combat, or buying a drink. Because of his overbearing personality many people find him hard to interact with but those who put in the effort find a loyal and caring companion devoted to those he protects until his last breath.
Every day Doran gets up at sunrise and greets the day with his prayer to Gorum. This prayer consists of standing at the tallest point in his vicinity, bashing his sword against his armored chest, and shouting a list of his victories at the top of his lungs often waking everyone within a fairly wide radius. He finishes off this routine with a short prayer to Gorum asking The Lord in Iron to strengthen his arm so that he might conquer his enemies and defend those who need protection.
Doran was taken from his family by slavers at the age of 16. At that point he was already taller than most normal men. He was sold to a man who ran an illegal underground fighting pit and told that he was to fight for he freedom. Doran spent four years fighting in the pits during which time he earned his name "Ripper" he was feared as one of the strongest fighters to have entered the arena in years. When the time came to for him to be freed however he was told he made to much money in the pit to be let go. He flew into a blind rage tapping into the power of his ancestors and tore his master to pieces with his claws. He fled the city hoping to find work as a mercenary or body guard but was instead taken in by a priest of Gorum. The priest was well into his old age and needed a strong young man whom would take up his mantel as one of Gorum's Sentinels. He now travels the country battling for the glory of His lord in Iron and offering his service as a body guard and mercenary for the commoners.
