About Dono Songwapper

Background:

Born in Andoran from escaped slaves Dono Songswapper was raised in the shadow of the Eagle Knights and weaned on the talk of freedom and the goal of ending the evil that is Cheliax. Dono and his brother had a happy life but it was shadowed by events in the neighboring lands and one or both of his parents were often away for long stretches where they were "about the family business". With values firmly implanted Dono and his his bother Tomid joined with the bellflowers at a young age, joining the family business as it was. Small and easily hidden both he and his brother would often sneak into Cheliax to lend what aid they could to escaping slaves. It was on one of these missions when Dono had to watch his brother drug out of hiding by a man wearing hellknight armor and put into chains. Not even officially an adult yet, what could Dono do on his own but to stay hidden, and to vow vengeance.

Initially Dono's only goal was to serve as a tiller, helping escaped slaves out of Cheliax but as his skill set grew he realized he could, and therefore must do more for the cause he believed in so much and sacrificed so much for. As an agent of the Bellflower Network he strives to undermine all aspects of the Cheliax government and works towards the lofty goal of ending the institution of slavery. Only recently had the Bellflowers gotten word of the activities in the city of Kintargo. This was enough for them to send a minor agent back to the city they had chosen to pull out from to see what might be done to further destabilize the government.

Dono has heard of the Silver Ravens and hoped with all his heart that this organization was really coming back. He is unsure where his loyalties lie with the pull-out of the Bellflowers from Kintargo but wants to do all he can to cause trouble in house Thrune. So when he heard about the planned protests he readied a disguise and planed to attend. He hopes to learn about current events there and perhaps encourage anti-government factions if he can. He knows his silver tongue can accomplish much if plied in the right direction.

Personality:

Dono is a free spirit, freedom lover, and freedom fighter. He is motivated by the plight of slaves everywhere and is particularly incensed at the treatment of halfings in Cheliax. When not focused on his life's work he likes to cut up and to perform for others. You might take him for someone who is never serious about anything, but you would be very wrong.

Appearance:

Dono is a master of disguise and can often can be found looking like some other halfling, or even on rarer occasion, a gnome. He has a half dozen personas that he maintains for each city he travels in. His real appearance is quite striking. He possesses dazzling blue eyes and his long brown hair has a handsome tasseled look. He stands just over 3 feet tall when not wearing lifts and those few times he chooses his garb based on his own taste he chooses greens and yellows. But always on his person, in a location that is both hidden and easy to reveal is pinned a small blue bluebell flower. He has a healthy tan complexion. He seldom is seen without his prized possession; a sling staff that belonged to his grandfather.

Reason to Protest:

Staying up on Current Events: Public protests are a great place to gather inspiration and information alike, more so from those who are being protested against than from the protesters themselves. You’re heading to the Aria Park protest primarily to watch people, but also to make sure you stay up to date on current events. Things have a way of happening at politically charged public gatherings, after all, and you’d kick yourself if you missed the protest and something big happened. Beyond listening for rumors, it might be an interesting opportunity for you to rabble-rouse a bit, either by making a performance or simply using diplomacy to sway or guide the crowd’s frustration and anger. You gain a +2 bonus on all Diplomacy and Perform checks made during the protest itself.
