Thanks for the info. I think the standard druid is a bit more versatile, but I really like the flavor of the Eagle Shaman. Thanks again

Yeah I realize that I would be the only one that could talk with it. I thought it might emphasize the special link that I have with my AC. But I can see your point also.

I am not aware of Eagle Shamen. Which book is it from?

I am looking for a caster druid to make up for the lack of caster types in the party. I was not aware that the rules specified the common language.

I am starting my first PF campaign friday after next. So far our party has Rogue x2, Bard and Paladin. The rogues are playing twins and going for a flanking setup. The pally is going mounted combat. And the bard is doing a buff support role.

First question, do you guys think a druid would be a good addition or should I go Wiz/Sorc.

My stats are:

Female Tengu Druid 1

Str 13
Dex 18 (16 +2 racial)
Con 11 (13 -2 racial)
Int 13
Wis 18 (16 +2 racial)
Cha 13

Feats: Weapon Finesse

AC: Roc

Weapons: Elven Curveblade, Net

Second question, do you guys have any ideas to improve this build?

I plan on advancing the Roc to INT 3 later on. Third question, do you guys think communiating with the Roc in Druidic would violate the class?

Thanks again guys

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Thanks guys! I showed my DM all the posts and she ruled that because a goliath is big enough and strong enough to swing a large weapon, the monk unarmed damage should also count as large. She didn't let me get INA though. This flexibility is why table top will always beat online.

Thanks for the input so far, and on a slightly related note...

At 6th level a monk meets the prereqs for the monster feat Improved Natural Attack, can a monk gain this feat or is it usable only by monsters? Also the Unarmed Strike uses all parts of the body so I could not take Improved Natural Attack again for the "off-hand" correct?

To me, it seems as if a Goliath Monk should be able to use the unarmed damage for a large creature. The main problem I see is, unlike a normal weapon, a monk's unarmed damage scales with level. Any input?

The awakened route seems like it would add some awesome RP. I am fairly new to PF so some of the intricacies excape me but, couldn't you teach a monkey to pick pocket with handle animal tricks?
