BACKSTORY
In the summer of 1855 Edvard was born to a Lutheran pastor named Bjorn and his wife Gry outside of Aalborg. His family was provided for by Bjorn’s flock. Though his flock was not large the family rarely wanted anything. He grew up embracing the faith until he left home for college. He traveled to Copenhagen where he received his bachelor’s at the Københavns Universitet. While there he gained a strong interest in English and studied it rather deeply becoming nearly fluent he also began to study Pragmatism which caused an erasure of his religious beliefs. That erasure in turn caused his father to disown him and cut off all communication with him in his senior year.
Seeing he couldn’t go back home or associate with his family or old life he continued to push forward. Having learned English in Copenhagen Edvard immigrated to England settling for a year in London before continuing on to Austria Hungry in 1878 to work on his master’s at the Jagiellonian University. While there he worked closely with L. L. Zamenhof on the creation of Esperanto. After finishing his work there, he returned to England and settled in Oxford working as an associate professor of English there. He simultaneously studied to gain his doctorate in philosophy.
Language was his true love however. As such he continued working on constructed languages as well as encoding language. This drew him to the military in the late 1890s, he was too old to actively fight but worked to encode information to send to the front lines. During the Boxers rebellion he was sent into China in order to work to aid in the dissemination of information to the public due to his skill at language learning. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding during an expedition, Edvard was on a group of British marines fired on his position hitting Edvard in the chest and puncturing his left lung. He was fortunately able to survive the wound but had to be removed from his military position and returned to England where he continued as a professor at Oxford. He also lost much of his physical endurance and wasn’t able to move faster than a walk for longer than a minute after the incident.
He since has worked diligently at Oxford helping in the founding of their foreign language department and functioning as the dean of that department.

Light brown hair that is white at all but the base and a thick white mustache. Blue eyes, 5’6” tall walks with a cane. Bookish kind eyes and a constant slouch from his decades leaning over a desk.

Maintains strong Humanist and Pragmatist beliefs. Economically he doesn’t believe that he knows enough about the subject to comment. Strong faith in humanity and its ability to work together if communication was possible between all people thus the work on Esperanto and linguistics in general.
