A group of friends and I are just starting Pathfinder and we're in the process of creating characters for the first time. For the most part, I think we have the basics down, but one thing I'm not sure of and have trouble understanding is the way racial traits/feats and even traits in general work.
For example, a dwarf has the following racial traits according to the core rulebook:
+2 Constitution, +2 Wisdom, –2 Charisma
Medium
Slow and Steady
Darkvision
Defensive Training
Greed
Hatred
Hardy
Stability
Stonecunning
Weapon Familiarity (Battleaxe, heavy pick, warhammer)
Languages (Common and dwarven)
However, another website I've found, http://www.d20pfsrd.com , says that dwarves have the following racial feats:
Brewmaster
Cleave Through
Cloven Helm
Dented Helm
Giant Killer
Goblin Cleaver
Hard-headed
Ledge Walker
Orc Hewer
Shatterspell
Toxic Recovery
It also has a race traits section, in which the traits listed with a dwarf prerequisite aren't even the same as the ones in the core rulebook.
Firstly, do I get every racial trait that the core rulebook gives me?
Secondly, why are the traits different and which source should I be taking as most reliable?
Lastly, what's the difference between racial traits and racial feats?
