Dingo accepts the vials with a smile and a nod. "Thank you, Janiven." he says, then draws from a holster at his hip a compact device - a pistol, and checks it over. When he is satisfied all is in working order, he keeps it in hand. "I am ready to move." he says.

The Halfling follows Janiven and Morosino with numerous glances back at the front door, then raises an eyebrow when he sees where they are headed. "Ah, the sewers. We're not going to be alone down there, so watch yourselves." Dingo says.

The Halfling's eyes widen and his hand goes to his hip when he hears the banging on the door, and they widen more still when he hears Ruark speaking Infernal. He shivers at the sound of the loudspeaker and he hops down from the table and looks around for an escape route or a place to hide. "Arael? Not him... he's the one I'm supposed to find!" he says.

The small fellow, child-sized by the standards of the others in the room, chose to sit on the edge of the table, rather than on the large iron pot that had been set on the chair to accommodate his height in comparison to that of the other furniture. He eyed the other people in the room uneasily at first, but the woman's introduction opened him up a little. His voice is soft, as though not used to making himself heard. "I've lived in Westcrown all my life, with a little time away to pick up certain... skills." the Halfling says. He is bundled up in a cloak that covers most of the cured leather armor he wears, and the hood, which previously covered his head, he doffs now to reveal a tousled mop of brown hair, small, pointed ears, and large brown eyes. "And all my time in Cheliax has been as a slave, until now." he says. "I've lost loved ones to these Shadows." he adds even more softly so that it's almost lost even as it leaves his lips. "But what can we do?" he asks, his tone becoming more animated. "Not to say I don't think we should try..." His eyes lower.

The Halfling was all-but invisible to most. Slip servants are so pervasive in Cheliax, and so downtrodden, they are rarely noticed. But despite his efforts, this one does stand out to those looking. He is dressed in traveller's clothes, and armed, this alone is notable enough on a Halfling in Cheliax, but even more so is the exotic object hanging on his hip when he moves - a Pistol. Having been pointed out, he smiles and steps up to the table with the others. "Good, good. You have eyes to see and not folds of society blinding you." he says in a soft voice. "Dingo. Dingo Meadowbreeze. Even though my family has not seen a meadow, or felt a breeze outside of the walls of our owners' Manors in more than a generation."

I like the idea of diesel punk. I think it'll go well with the theme of the AP, going with a Dickensian Westcrown (or an Industrial age one) combined with the Devilish elements of the plot. How will that affect the overall setting in your mind, GM? (selfishly, how about the availability of firearms - Dingo being a Gunslinger and all.)

Apologies for the length. I started writing it and then got carried away.
Noble House: From what little research I was able to do, House Arionne seems like a good fit. If they're not a presence in Westcrown, I'll pick Seidraith. Dingo's opinion of the Pathfinders is a positive one, for the most part. He met some Andoran Pathfinders, and though there are some factions within the organization that tolerate slavery, on the whole he found them sympathetic to the plight of the slaves of Cheliax. Etgar was not a Pathfinder agent, as such, and so he didn't have much to impart to him of the principles of the Pathfinders, but he had a positive view of them. Working on stats now.
Phew! Relieved! I finished the background, but will still be making a couple edits. Mostly for names of characters and the like. Full stats and traits also forthcoming. Djivan: I have several hooks in the background. Use as you see fit if I am approved. :)
- Mia is not dead. What became of her after the Beasts took her?
Hello, this is Capricornus. My background, while not complete, is up in my profile. I will finish the rest tonight and add some details like names and such. Just wanted to get it up so you could see part of where I am going with it. Dingo will be a Gunslinger with the Mysterious Stranger archetype. He will be able to function as a secondary 'Face' type, perhaps a stealth character, and may take levels in Alchemist (Grenadier) as well. Or a Rogue. We'll see! Haha! Just writing a background and that may take me in a different direction than I originally intended. Edit: Erk, I hope I'm not too late. Didn't know there was a submission threshold for full feedback. :( |
