Oh. Maybe. But he’s dreamy, too! And from the desert!
That's funny, because I've had to push Lord Snappy around a lot over the last few years. He might be a pretty scorpion, but he can be dumb as a rock... which is probably why I have to keep my scorpion discipline tool ready (shows off a wooden club) Still, as a vermin, he doesn't get too many tricks. So most of what he does, I have to force him to do, and that has included "Down" for a good while. But I have heard of others that have had the same touble... including my good friend Sgt. Rikki Gunderson... that wolverine of hers used to go off in a rage, well, before he was killed crossing into Druma a while back. Her new companion, Crunch, well, he's still being trained, she tells me.

He's always a good guy to have around, always ready with a drink. Come to think of it, their both Caydenites, so I s'pose that makes sense. Magnus is a good guy... though I s'pose that goes without saying, seeing as he is a paladin and all. His sister is a little stuck up, though. Can't take a joke AT ALL! But, Faustus, he really scares me. Gives me a look like he's gonna sell me into slavery. He stops short of calling me a "slip", but I don't trust that inquisitor. Why, I hear a story told around the Grand Lodge that ripped a scepter off the belt of a lady oracle once, causing her pants to fall down! Why, I never! And stay away from the rat! That Lucius is a real lech... he calls himself a Rat Pimp, and tried to recruit me! Why, I never!
I will agree that it seems sort of arbitrary... and that means Lord Snappy (my Giant Scorpion) will be losing his barding... even though my player doesn't own the book. Doesn't make a lot of sense (he was going to eventually be getting really nice barding... which would match my armor!), but I guess it proves once again that a vermin animal companion is extremely sub-optimal. Poor Lord Snappy! So picked upon by the rules... no skills, no feats, almost no tricks. *sniff*

That's pretty much what I thought... especially since gun upgrade appears to be this way (the post linked to is by none other than Nefreet!). Thanks, guys. Guess my shiny blue armor will have to remain unenchanted for the time being. I'll have to be enchanting enough for the both of us!
Ok, to start with, I have already searched for, and read through, the various existing threads, such as Dragonhide Armor and
I am 99% sure I know the answer to this, but just want to confirm (since there was no true resolutions in the threads above). Since Dragonhide Armor is not Always Available, you must have the Fame to purchase it (or it can be bought with PP, or possibly available on a Chronicle). That's not my question. I would like to have my Blue Dragonhide Breastplate enchanted to +1, but given my current Fame of 6, the total cost (1700gp) is not covered by (lack of) Fame. Does the fact that the Dragonhide special material is not Always Available trump the fact that a +1 enchantment is Always Available? This is where i am confused. And I just had to go with Blue Dragon Hide... the color goes so well with my eyes! And the blue highlights in Lord Snappy's carapace... oh, you don't know Lord Snappy? He's my wonderful Giant Scorpion companion. He is so friendly... See, here he comes! NO, SNAPPY! Put the nice man down!!
