About Dexter Quickwit

Dexter Quickwit

Background:

Dexter grew up an orphan in a gypsy caravan of entertainers. His music and magic developed separately. As a member of the caravan he was expected to learn a skill of the trade. He made himself a lute and taught himself to play. When he was 20, just entering young adulthood, a gnome sorceress named Kiara saw magical potential in began to mentor him when the caravan was on the road, or not otherwise performing. He eventually discovered that he could mix his two talents and create something much stronger.

A few weeks ago, his caravan was attacked by goblins while travelling near the Brinestump Marsh on the way to Magnimar. They had no way to defend themselves. Most of the caravan was slaughtered, Kiara among them.

Dexter and a handful of others escaped with their lives. Dexter parted ways with them a week ago to seek employment at the great Sandpoint Theater. He sent a message ahead to the owner, Cyrdak Drokkus, but has not heard back. He is on his way to seek an audience in person.
