Desmond is appalled at the indiscriminate use of blood and especially the deliberate attempts to get bitten by the turtle. The medic sighs and tries to turn a deaf ear to any screams or shouts from the snapping turtle pen.

He watches Maruta get the caterpillar to explode in color. "I guess if it feeds the little guy, I can try it." He pricks his finger for a bit of blood and then tries to see what art he can coax it to make.

Desmond sits on the moss-covered seat and smiles, trying to be comfortable on the living furniture. As others fill in around him, he asks about the history of Bhopan, including Princess Ganjay. "I've heard she was quite independent growing up. Her parents must have had their hands full."

Desmond narrows his eyes as the tale is told. "What do you mean the vault lethal to Bhopanese, but less deadly to outsiders? It sounds like it's not completely safe for us either. And why would the royalty be immune? Is there some magic or effect that is specifically deadly to you?"

At first the medic hovers near the food and drinks, not quite knowing what to do. Inevitably, some of the socialites corner him as a newcomer and he finds himself explaining how he travels with Pathfinders in some of the oddest places. As always happens, someone begins asking him about a medical issue and the crowd grows as he tries to answer.

Desmond follows Lelzeshin out and nods at the request to speak to others. "I'm just a simple medic. No magic or anything flashy. I can't even wield a weapon in a fight."

"But if I may ask, does King Webhekiz trace his family to either Princess Ganjay her family? Is this more personal than simply an issue of history?"

Desmond frowns when the king tells their version of the story. He looks back to the Pathfinders as they attempt to address this disparity. "Your Grace, whatever may have happened years ago, I think your inclination to judge this group by their own actions rather than those of Selmius or Adolphus, is both wise and quite honorable."

Desmond initially sits and then leaps up at he feels the upholstery move! "What in the blazes?!"

He looks around as the others stare at him and then he sits back down, a bit more carefully and with a look of reluctance. He looks around the carriage. "This whole thing is alive?"

Desmond is in awe of the way the city is built(?)/grown(?). He lingers just a moment, looking at the lake and the castle. "Who is your ruler? Who are we going to see?"

He watches the entrance ceremony, trying to make note of the words. When they are through the gate, he offers Thadie a small bandage.

Desmond shows his empty hands. "I'm just a medic. I have no weapons. I'm willing to tend to anyone who is hurt if you need." He walks along with the others. "Hoba Dukuza is a city or settlement? It would be interesting to see it and learn more about you."

Desmond allows the Pathfinders to deal with the issue of their previous Society member. He offers his expertise if any of the Bhopanese need medical help. I'm a medic, I can help." As he comes closer he looks at several members of the unit. "Are you related to some of the fey?"

"Whoa!" Desmond feels the wind push him forward and he quickly moves his feet to keep up. Once up to speed, he races along the edge of the ravine, glancing down at the plants far below. While he hopes they couldn't make it all the way up, that was probably a secondary concern to the new assailants chucking spears at Ghardak.

Desmond rushes towards Selena when he sees the plant grab her. At first he's worried about her wounds and he works to heal them even as she's held. Then he realizes that as long as it has hold of her, she's in continued danger. He plants his heavy boots on it and gives it a shove into the ravine.

Nope, Desmond tried to throw the plant down the ravine and then backed away. Now hopefully he's in a better position should someone need healing.

Desmond grits his teeth as he brings his shield up to block the plant's attack. After the attack, he quickly steps up and tries to shove the plant over the edge and into the ravine. He quickly retreats again either to give Ghardak the front line or just to watch the plant fall.

Seeing the others struggling against the vines and roots, Desmond realizes they can't let the plants surround them. He dashes forward to block them from collapsing down on the group, readying his shield. "Come on! Dispatch these two quickly and the others won't be able to do anything about it!" He touches his pendant to ready for the onslaught.

We don't need to cross the ravine to get to the dryad. We just go to the north and then across the map. I would assume the plants can cross the logs, so they might be able to engage us. Ideally, we can take them in twos rather than all together?

Desmond peers over the edge and then over at the giant plants. "I might be able to make that jump, but it's far from certain. We should probably stick together. How easily do you think they can cross those logs?" The medic flexes his legs to get ready, but looks to the Pathfinders for their plan.

A half-orc jogs up to the group. Without weapons or armor, at first you think he's just one of the dockworkers. Then you see his pack filled with medical supplies and a bright blue emblem identifying him as a medic. "Hey, I think you're the right crew." He nods at Blackthane. "Name's Desmond. I've been asked to tag along and keep you all alive. Probably on account of the last guy getting himself killed. I go where you go and make sure you live to tell about it."

He looks around and sees both tiny sprites. "Hmm, I might need to cut down some more bandages."

Sorry that your medic is late!

I play Desmond as a field medic hired to help keep Pathfinders alive. As such, he doesn't exactly see himself as a Pathfinder. He also tends not to attack with Strikes, although when he does, I may reflavor them as slapping away the enemies' hands or even accidental hits.

Friendly fire is fine, though expect to hear about Desmond having to fix it.

He's a Treat Wounds monster, so feel free to let him handle out of combat healing.

Desmond knocks the blow aside with his shield and is about to say something to the leader when he sees Ghardak surrounded. "Hey, I don't think that's fair!" The half-orc moves to pull Red away from Ghardak, though he ends up ripping at his arms and neck.
