Per the spell, they follow spoken commands of the animator. It is a free action to speak, so free. No, I would not make it a longer action with more undead, they would simply have to be within earshot. As an additional note, even though you are allowed any number of free actions in a round, you are limited to a few sentences. As GM I'd allow 3 separate commands in a single round (without limiting the size of the groups commanded). Allowing more commands than that would seem to be a bit overboard for a single round of speaking. Not only that, it would be rather unlikely more would ever be necessary.

Opponents would have to be pretty tactical to strictly go after the casters. Highly intelligent opponent, sure. It's a valid tactic. Average intelligence, not likely. They would more likely be afraid of casters. Making vermin rush the casters, that's just crazy talk.
Use attacks that ignore AC: Spells, incorporeal attacks, etc. Get rid of the armor with sunder, or have a thief steal them. (this is pretty drastic though, so be careful) Attack at night when he's not in armor, or use an environment where you can't wear heavier armor. Make obstacles that require Str and Dex based skills. Keep him occupied with minions, and use flanking. Take away the enhancement bonuses with Antimagic aura. Grappling also bypasses AC, and can do damage. (my favorite) Honestly, if he can't be hit by your creature's first attack (less than 40% of the time), then you should bump them up a bit.

Your definition and mine are exactly the same. There is no point in arguing semantics when it is perfectly clear. @Brotato
Hmm, no responses. My guess is that both types of DR apply after the damage is split, reducing the 15 lethal damage by 5, and the non-lethal damage by 10, resulting in 10 points of lethal and 5 points of non-lethal. The less likely option (IMO) is to apply the DR before the split. But that feels a little clunky. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter?
When an ability like Resilient Brute (Half Orc) splits the damage into two different types, how does an Invulnerable Rager's DR handle it when it has DR against both types? For example, my IR Barbarian has DR 5, and DR 10 vs. non-lethal. He gets critically hit for 30 points of damage, and uses Resilient Brute to split the damage into half lethal and half nonlethal. What happens? |
