Deimos certainly stands out in a crowd. Even without his gaunt features, jaundiced skin, and faintly-glowing yellow eyes, he also stands 6'7" and a freakishly thin 170 lbs. He is generally in plain gray robes with a gnarled oak staff, the head of which has been roughly carved into the featureless face of a golem's head. Deimos generally keeps his hood up, not in the interest of being mysterious, but to cover his mostly-bald head, on which survives only a handful of singular, wispy strands of dark brown hair. Close inspection shows liver spots and small moles across much of his mottled skin.

Deimos is cynical and callous, rarely having the foresight to keep his mouth shut when a situation irritates him (which is often). His demeanor changes significantly if he meets a fellow arcane caster, happy to talk shop and possibly trade spells.

He is not so much convinced of his own superiority as he is convinced of the inferiority of the mortal races in general; he is pessimistic on the best of days, and when he enters one of his occasional antisocial melancholies, he becomes entirely fatalistic. He generally spends these times poring over his father's journal for new information on how to kill demons.

In combat, Deimos stays well away from the main action, remaining only close enough to fire off the occasional acid dart or maintain control of a summoned creature (a spell he only brings out for particularly dangerous foes). He never summons fiendish creatures unless he faces a foe specifically weak against them, and then only from the Nine Hells (none of his fiendish summons are Abyssal in origin). If he runs out of acid darts, he will generally move about the field avoiding melee and attempting to aid allies in other ways, such as aid another actions and Heal checks to stabilize.

The singular exception to this is a fight against demons; in such situations he always allows his anger to get the better of him, and will expend all his spells to bring them down, and once those are gone, he will wade into melee with his staff.
