I'm also quite sure that in the end, we all get our downloads. I already owned all of the pdf's except the adventures, but even considering thoose is a big price save.

Also, I hope this thing will raise the interest in Pathfinder in my city a bit. A lot of people know Humble Bundle, a lot of potential players might come to the next Pen & Paper Roleplay day in germany. At least I hope so.

BUT: Paizo should have known better, that their server will be under very high demand. And I think people who don't already know Paizo and that they will deliver, might get a very bad impression from them. So I hope, that they will fix this problem soon. Not because I want my downloads, but because I don't want new players to get a bad first impression.

Maybe Paizo should increase the cache where they store the personalized PDF's, so that we don't have to init a new personalization request every couple of hours as long as we try to get the file. Or they should just remove the personalization at least from the core rulebook, so that new buyers already have something to read while we wait till the dust settles.

First, I want to mention, that by time you can trap a dragon and take his soul to sell it, a 1000gp will not be that much wealth to your "hero" anymore.

As a GM, I wouldn't allow you to create such a character UNLESS you can convince me why this would be fun. For you and for the others and for me. You have to provide a reason, why your group would want to work together instead of killing you on sight. And don't only rely on hiding your alignment, because that will not work too long. Also, it might be much more fun, if they KNOW about your alignment, but other circumstances force them to work with you.

Also, playing such a char just for beeing able to "farm gold with demons" is not very interesting. Also, just because you are evil too, doesn't mean they like you. Heck, they would kill and eat their own mother if they could, they don't have an evil alignment, they ARE that evil alignment.

You are going to experience adventures. Of course, you can also try to build an evil wizzards tower etc., but is this really what you want to do all the time in the game? Why do you need the other players for that?

But instead of only giving critical questions, I want to contribute a couple of ideas for your character:

What about playing a chaotic neutral character, who is just very curios and is interested in daemons? You don't need to be evil for this, you can even accept good deeds, but you are not as extremistic about playing with devils if this makes sense and is interesting. It would also lead to a lot of discussions between your group members, but they don't necceserely have to end into a battle about life and death.

The other idea would be, that you play an really evil character, who was send by his god to turn the good aligned heros around. Who tries to justify evil and make them do evil things. And the others heros have similar things in mind, they want to "cure" the evil that is within you. But actually, I don't believe this is going to work, unless you all don't really give a s+$! about your alignments when you roleplay your character (which is totally ok, if this works for you).

My current group is Good/Neutral, but on their way to save the city from a Leukodaemon, they already murdered a couple of innocent people, who where just doing their jobs (guardsmen).

@Spook: Yea, that's exactly what annoys me with the current generators.

@Wheldrake: I knew donjon before and I've also seen that generator. Although it comes quite close of what I want to do, I like a bit more customization. For instance, I miss the possibility to select a single treasureType (in donjons, you can only choose predefined "Types", but can't say that you want to create a Type G: Spellcaster Gear treasure hoard").

But besides that, the stuff with the average party level and CR is quite strange, don't you think? And in the end, it's also the answer, why donjon only asks for the cr but not for the apl.

I'm currently learning and writing a small Javascript in order to create random treasures to support improvising. I's based on the rules and tables of Ultimate Equipment Appendix 1:Treasure Generator (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/ultimateEquipment/appendix.html#treasur e-generator). The reason I write it is, that I'm not happy with the one that can be found at: http://pathfinder-treasure-generator.com.

However, I made a couple of questions and observations I would like to ask and share. Maybe someone has a solution or idea for them:

1) Treasure Budget.
In step 1, it says, I should determine the overall challenge rating of the encounter and then look into the Treasure Values per Encounter to get the base value for such an encounter. This doesn't make sense to me, because the base value that I get has no connection to the challenge rating.

So when I take a look into the gamemastering chapter (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/gamemastering.html) i find:

"Easy encounters should award treasure one level lower than the PCs' average level. Challenging, hard, and epic encounters should award treasure one, two, or three levels higher than the PCs' average level, respectively."

easy = APL -1 = CR
normal = APL = CR
challenging = APL +1 = CR
hard = APL +2 = CR
epic = APL +3 = CR

So we see, the level adjustment is equal to CR-APL (example: APL=3, CR=6, adjustment = +3).

Okay, so if we put this into a formula:

Treasure level = APL + (CR - APL) = CR.

ups... so the base treasure value is independend from the APL? Why don't they say that directly? Why so complicated? Or did I miss something? (of course, it doesn't depend solely on the CR, some modifiers for low/high magic worlds and monster types are applied afterwards, but the base is only depending on CR).

2) Step 3: Choose treasure types. It leaves it open to the GM to choose from the ones determined by the type of monster contained in the challenge.

What would you expect a generator to do? Ask which type depending on the creatures you used? Choose one randomly?
