I'm a player in my buddies campaign. He's struggling w/ certain members not using appropriate tactics. I'm the wizard of the group and - unfortunately - quite use to being abandoned. Fortunately I'm really good at playing mages and know how to position myself and use my spells to great advantage. Our main issue is non-fighter types rushing the front line in hopes of getting some action and spotlight. The next adventure promises to be extremely challenging. The GM informs me that if the party doesn't use decent tactics that he's likely to nerf the whole party. Fortunately I know when to retreat. The others, eh...
This group has only recently agreed to stop kicking in every single door and jumping at every chance to fight *rolls eyes*. I know, embarrassing, but that's our group. Anywho, the GM doesn't want to fudge attacks made against the party but doesn't want murder the entire party. I told him that I usually got an exit strategy just in case the rest get me and the bard into too much trouble. The bard is typically pretty careful too.
I told the GM to just kill whoever doesn't take the threat serious. If all else fails I can use one of my many illusions to hide. I told him that if it were me I'd leave their dead bodies to rot (also so they can be resurrected) but take all their "toys". If they have to go a whole adventure w/out all their "fun stuff" I'm sure that will make an impression. Another option is the enemy takes the dead party and the GM already have weaker NPC's prerolled for them to run. They'd hate having to play some basic, run of the mill character over their own. Eventually they'd get their characters back but not until dealing w/ their consequences. Any advice???
