Oh goody! The paralyzed one is still alive. Can I get a save vs. Ghoul Fever please? If I play this right I'll have a Lacedon Sea Devil in a week or two. The sea devil's attacks somehow turn out less damaging and severe than the doomed creatures first thought. DR 5 subtracted from each attack reduces the damage of both attack sequences to 4 The three otherworldly creatures converged on the the prone sea devil, tearing at it and drinking their fill of it's blood, eventually dragging it kicking and screaming into the rip with them. Pure fluff. They each attack it and drag it "overboard" on the last round that they are around. Attack rolls: The big one and one small one can 5' adjust and take full attacks. The other one will have to move in. Big One, Claw Attack 1: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 2 = 14
Big One Claw Attack 2: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 2 = 25
Small One 1, Claw Attack 1: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 2 = 7
Small One 1, Claw Attack 1: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 + 2 = 13
Small One 2, Claw Attack (no full attack due to movement): 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 + 2 = 14

The things fell from the rip, answering Deader's call, lunging forth, all claws, dripping blood from every tiny mouth. Smaller one, 1 (appears at A7, attack B7)
Smaller one, 2 (appears at B6, attacks C6)
The Big One (appears at C9, attacks D9)

The bloody creatures finish their ghastly meal and vanish back into the folds of space and time. The two things that were once grindylows and the Ghoulish Sailor move back to the smallboat and gut and bleed the heavy corpse of Son. Once they've lightened the massive mutant corpse they drag his body, and and two other grindylow bodies from the smallboat and down into the bilge. Aside from an occasionally hungry glance, they completely ignore the living crew.

The creatures pay no mind to surrender. They happily gorge on Plugg's unconscious body, replenishing the blood they have been constantly excreting. The ghoul likewise continues it's feast. If you want him alive, speak up. I'll order them to stop before they can do damage this "round" The little hook covered horror Deader had named Greedy looked for the nearest breathing target and dragged itself forward by it's arms, trailing dripping leathery tentacles behind it. Zombies can Charge their movement speed, which for Greedy is only 15 feet. If there's anyone in range, Greedy will attack. Charge: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 2 = 24
Trip (entangling tentacles, swift action): 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 5 + 2 = 17

Previous round's Summon Monster 1 spell drops another Bloody Skeleton at H8 Another rent in space. Another terrible creature. Another pair of tearing claws. We'll call this one Other One. :)
Claw, Flanking: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 + 2 = 22
Pretty sure Plugg didn't see this coming. :)
Greedy HP 16/16, Buddy HP 16/16, Nasty 20/20, Grimy 20/20, AC 17
The two bleeding creatures follow their prey The larger one moves in behind Plugg in a sudden flurry of claws
Claw, Flanking: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 2 = 14
The smaller one steps up in front of Scourge, but remains intent on Plugg.
Claw, target flanked: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8

Greedy
Buddy
Ghouly
On the other side of the ship, the dripping ghoul tears into the body of the paralyzed sailor, flaying flesh and ripping off a bite of living meat. The zombified octogoblin covered in hooks and nets finally made it to the railing, pulling itself to the edge and looking at the living with dead white eyes. The second one followed a few feet behind.

The two bleeding creatures lash out at their fleeing prey. AoO (big one): 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 4 + 2 = 26
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 = 11
Oh well. AoO (little one): 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 2 = 7

Bloody Human Skeletons as base creature. 1d3 ⇒ 2 Two of them arrive in square I9. One adjusts to J10. The other moves to flank at H10. The inhuman things were covered in tiny mouths and dripped crimson all over the deck. They tore at Plugg with single-minded savagery. Bigger one
Claw Attack, flanking: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 2 = 18
Smaller one
Claw Attack, flanking: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 2 = 18
Good luck Cedrick. Hope that takes some heat off you.

Let's see if we can start turning the tide... Ghoul Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Ghoul moves the rest of the way up with 5 feet to spare and moves to M5 to attack. Since he's coming over the side after having been using stealth, I'm pretty sure I catch him flat footed unless he makes a Perception check that beats my Stealth roll. Ghoul Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Greedy Stealth: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33
Buddy Stealth: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23
Greedy makes it up 10 feet. Buddy flails in the water.

Greedy Climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Buddy Climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Ghoul Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
The ghoul moves 10 feet up the side. Greedy moves 5. Buddy doesn't manage to get out of the water.

Lacedon 5' adjust forward. Full Attack Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Starting attacks at Grindylow at C6. Any hit provokes a DC 13 Fort save vs. Paralysis. If the Grindylow dies or gets paralyzed, Lacedon will aim all other attacks to the big guy.

Lacedon
The dead sailor ripped free of the grasping tendrils, lunging forward to continue it's assault on the Grindylows. Move to D7 Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
DC 13 Fort save vs. Paralysis

Bloody Skeleton
The things that rose behind her were terrible to behold. Instead of normal facial features, they had a single large eye that took up most of their head. They moved like they were boneless. Their hands were little more than massive scything claws. They were covered in tiny fang-filled mouths that opened and closed, drinking in the filthy water and spitting out blood from others, like some bizarre parody of a fishes gills. They were fixated on the Grindylow witch. At B4

1d3 ⇒ 2 Bloody Skeletons summoned, one with the Advanced Simple template Advanced Bloody Skeleton
Bubbles surfaced and popped behind the Grindylow witch. Then clawed hands breached the water and raked at her back... At B5

Deader's new crewman lashes out savagely at the creature in front of it. Full Attack
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
each hit requires a DC 13 Fort save vs. Paralysis. If an enemy fail's it's save, the Lacedon will immediately target the next creature, 5' adjusting between attacks if need be. Ghouls have a 13 int, which is plenty to know that once something is paralyzed, it's best to move onto a new threat.

Deader's new friend dipped below the surface and reappeared attempting to it's teeth into Grindylow flesh. Is the Lacedon able to Charge since it has a swim speed? Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Greedy HP 16/16, Buddy HP 16/16, Nasty 20/20, Grimy 20/20, AC 17
The terrible thing surfaced again, it's eyes just above the water, bobbing along next to his master like a puppet on the end of lazy strings. The unrestrained savagery it had just displayed was firmly in check again, locked away by it's master's commands.
Greedy HP 16/16, Buddy HP 16/16, Nasty 20/20, Grimy 20/20, AC 17
Greedy's hook-studded tentacles thrash with barely repressed malice. It's clear that the mindless urge to kill it's former's allies is there, but it obeys the commands it has been given. It moves to a new patch of netting and hooks, continuing to thrash and rip. Move to J4
Greedy HP 16/16, Buddy HP 16/16, Nasty 20/20, Grimy 20/20, AC 17
Never did roll Greedy's HP. He started with 1 HD, then became a zombie, so it's HD changed to D8s and he got 1 bonus HD from size, so he gets 8 HP base. HP: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 Nice. Greedy's a tough little bugger. With DR5/Slashing he only took 2 damage from that last set of attacks, putting him currently at 14/16 HP. Edit: Greedy's stats added to alias. Grindylows make surprisingly good zombies.
Greedy HP 16/16, Buddy HP 16/16, Nasty 20/20, Grimy 20/20, AC 17
The undead octopus goblin continued to tear at the netting, reaching hungrily towards it's former companions, getting more and more hooks imbedded in it's flesh and thrashing with all ten limbs, whipping the water into a bloody froth topped with pinkish foam. One more space cleared of hooks and nets. Lets go with square J5 since it's toward the enemies and will let the others squeeze past if they want to engage.

Summon Monster 1 goes off. Deader grinned and beckoned and something stepped out of a rippling fold in space just behind the last of their foes. It screamed a thousand far away whispers as it's skin bubbled in the light of the sun. Enraged, it lashed out with miss-jointed limbs and tore into the man before it. Claw 1: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 2 = 15
Claw 1: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 2 = 18
Deader summons a Bloody Skeleton with the Advanced template using It Came From Beyond. It appears at J6 and attacks. |
