![]() I hate the advice to "wait for higher levels" or "it should round itself out in 4-5 levels". That's alot of gameplay to trivialize. Anyway, as a GM, I generally try to sculpt specific encounters around what my players are using as PC's, so that I can turn their strength into weakness, and provide a certain amount of challenge to their game. ![]()
![]() As a GM, I usually run homebrew campaigns, and my starting characters are gimped much more than RAW. Weapons and armor are severely limited for starting out, with a 10 point buy system. Everyone has fun though, and every encounter is dangerous. It's one of those things where you and your players (friends in my case), have to sit down and discuss what you think is important and not important in your gameplay. It's OKAY to stray from the CRB now and again, if it increases your gameplay value. [And as a GM, I don't mind throwing in CR + 2 encounters. ] I started doing this, because as a player, I found most AP's to be insanely easy. In the end, it's whatever you find the most fun! ![]()

![]() In my games, we sit down and even though we have all played together before, we always go over the house rules. And first and foremost, "GM has final word over everything." We're a close-knit group of friends though, so we don't have much arguments other than some discussion. And then we pray :) Then game on! (breaking only when pizza and wings arrive) ![]()
![]() Hello, I am a fairly new Pathfinder player from the Baltimore area. My current group of friends who play are incredibly unreliable, and so we manage only a game a month or less at times. Which is frustrating as I have quickly become a big fan of the game, and put alot of time into developing characters and storylines, and after playing just a few sessions I began GM'ing my own games for them. I am looking for a group, playing any campaign or homebrew (the only PFRPG game I've done is Kingmaker, and we only made it to level 4 before stopping). I am a pretty easy-going player, who enjoys both the tactical combat side, and the fun-RP side (fit with horrible accents). I am willing to travel -some- distance, as I currently drive to Pennsylvania for the group I am in. Usual game times are Saturday Nights, starting at 5(or 6 depending on travel time) until whenever, and Sundays from whatever times. If you know if any games starting or in need of new players, let me know! |
