The Exchange

Daxter will cast haste on the party.

The Exchange

For Tier 1-2, yea that's all I can play. Like I said, I'll bow out. Theres too many people and there isn't much I can play anyway.

The Exchange

I cannot.

The Exchange

I have Thornkeep. But if it ends up being 7+, I'll bow out since I'm the most inflexible.

The Exchange

Is there anyway you could just split the 9 PCs into 2 groups? Mainly because the scenario will drag on if we're waiting on everyone and also because it'll be really hard to find a scenario that everyone can play.

For example if we have to play tier 1-5, my options are limited. It's down to either The Disappeared or the first 2 level of Thornkeep.

The Exchange

Well, unfortunately Scarlett Sun is one of the few levels I can't play at. I'm working on it, but currently I don't have any PCs levels 4,5, and 6.

The Exchange

Well, I would be in for playing if you would be willing to run something, Helaman. Though the selection of mods I can play for credit is dwindling.

The Exchange

Well, like I said, I have enough PCs that it didn't hurt too bad. It was still frustrating though. And now they're free to adventure outside of the first steps.

The Exchange

Yea, I've had 2 characters stuck in the first steps series for a year. That was painful.

The Exchange

I've been through the scenario that Shifty speaks of. But I have enough PCs that it isn't a big deal, even for a mid level PC. I would totally be in for that.

Alot of the interest in PFS PBP is intro stuff unfortunately. Scenarios can be short as 2 weeks in PBP if people are good about posting, or as long as 6 months if people go on hiatus. The only criteria for me is stuff I haven't played.

The Exchange

I would assume that it is. My opinion is as follows:

A: Yes, other classes do what the rogue does better.

B: They are still viable and you can make it work.

My 9th PFS PC is going to be a pure rogue. Mainly because I've never seen a rogue with trapfinding. I actually plan on tanking(which if you're permanently invisible aka a ninja), is harder to do. For a rogue, stealth just means working harder to make it work. If that's fine with the OP, go for it.

The Exchange

Either one works for me. Though if you could do Frostfur that would be great. I'm the only one in my group who hasn't played it so it's gonna be hard for me to play it otherwise. I'll have my rogue's profile up by tonight after work.

The Exchange

Yea, I can play a new PC. I need one anyway. I have a fresh level 1 rogue. I would like to play Frost Fur Captives, Goblinblood dead or any of the year 4 mods of course.

The Exchange

Well for 3-7 mods, I have my 6th level barbarian. If its a 1-5, it would be a fresh 1st level rogue.

The Exchange

When you say low level, do you mean 1-5 or could you do 3-7? There are a few 3-7s I would like to play. I'm a pretty active poster and I have experience in PBP.

You play with a vastly different group of players than I then. I have multiple standing requests that X player not be placed into Y situation. I just tell the requestor that the burden of effort is in their court, and the issues resolve themselves without demonification. People make sure to wait till Y player signs up, and avoids them. I have multiple 1 on 1 conversations with "problem" players, and every conversation has resulted in better play for all involved.

Well we are a smaller group so it has come conflicts. We had a player vow to never show up because he didnt like that his magus was not welcome. The player and any other of his PCs were, just not the magus. But there was also a thread about a year ago when someone said they'd walk away from a magus table and a lot of flak was given. Both reasons basically being that since it was legal you had to deal with it.

I'd like you contact your local police dept about the man holding the gun to your head demanding you sit down next to a summoner. If it was so horrible that someone now has the "right" to be a jerk because the class was banned, then why pray tell didn't you speak with your feet, or better yet actually speak to the person about how you felt about playing with them prior to the banning?

You're right, except people demonize the guy who doesn't want to play with the synthesist or the magus and is willing to walk away from said table.

The Exchange 4/5 *

Fair enough. But at least the 7/7 fighter had no skill points, even worse at intimidate/any social skill compared to the synthesist who had it all. Free points are free points. And for the record, my tiefling ranger is a total jerk to everyone who admits to being the dumbest tiefling ever.

And +1 to what Cheapy said.

Well, the problem with synthesists versus the low mental stat fighters, is that the fighters actually had to deal with having low mental stats. Skill points, will saves, etc... Synthesists dumped their physical scores and still got good physical stats when merged. The 7/7/7 synthesist basically gets (assuming biped) another 25 points for free. And that isn't an issue for some of you?

I for one am totally okay with the banning of synthesists and the no changing ability scores. Go Brock!

I hate you.

The Exchange

From Feral's list, I can play Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment, Goblinblood Dead, and Storming the Silent Gate.

The Exchange

I would love to play Frostfur captives. I have a level 5 barbarian.

The Exchange

Yes, thank you for running this for us. I thought that the ending of this mod called for a change in Daxter. I like the avatar alot too.

The Exchange

Vudrani:
"Well this is the first time I have ever felt any kind of empathy for anyone. I usually just feel contempt for those around me, especially my allies, not that they don't deserve it.Though I suppose as long as it doesn't affect me, how does the song go? I should live and let live? But now, I feel sadness for all the victims brutally cut short by the cult. I don't know what to do with this feeling."

The Exchange

During the ride home, Daxter will converse in Vudrani with Jalissa. Just small talk at first and then about the visions he saw when the ghost looked at him. It is clear they bother him as he is not used to feeling anything but contempt and anger when it comes to most people.

The Exchange

Sounds like a plan. The rest of us can climb down since there is no rush.

The Exchange

Vudrani:
"There is a village not too far from here where we can get some rest and you can get cleaned up. We can grieve together over some Penj, perhaps?"
He says with what can only be a slight smile.

The Exchange

Daxter shakes his head and refuses to translate that last line for Ursus.

The Exchange

Vudrani:
"Thank you. Hopefully it will work. We have been through a lot these past few days. A little meditation and calm will do us some good."
Daxter says with a calm tone.

The Exchange

Sorry about that. You'll get better I swear. I underestimated her AOO. But you did die gloriously.

The Exchange

He wipes his blade and gets a vial out of his pack. His wrings out the blood into it and stoppers it before he puts everything away.

"Agreed. We should leave post haste." He replies with what you would assume is a look of sadness when he sees the man-bear pick up the fallen bard.

The Exchange

Not an Evil Language At All:
Many thanks, servant of the heavens. You have my appreciation.

Daxter pulls his knife. He produces the leftover blessed oils he had saved. He coats the blade in it and proceeds in slitting the foul creature's throat.

"I feel a presence here, an unsettling one." Daxter says as he looks around.

The Exchange

"It is not a problem. Just do not try to throw your life away again, Serah Takuma."

The Exchange

Daxter will refill Takuma's and Ursus' Ioun stones using their wands. Daxter will also cast Shield on himself before he will continue further.

The Exchange

Yes, Daxter will translate.

Daxter asks them if they know anything about the complex If they do not, he welcomes them to come with the party for safety.

The Exchange

"I think they may be victims of the cult, kept here against their will." Daxter says to the rest of his party.

The Exchange

" He teleported away Farouq." He says shaking his head, as if it was obvious what happened.

The Exchange

"Are You all satisfied? You wasted resources and he got away. Because we let him get away. All of you are idiots." Daxter says as he drinks a potion to cure the last of his wounds.

1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

The Exchange

"You talk of meaning? What is the meaning of torturing someone with acid before they die? Life's ultimate purpose is not entropy and rebirth. Its purpose is to contribute to those around you and to stop idiots like you."

Ursus the Breaker wrote:

Ursus watches in awe as the semi-Orc dodges deftly despite being denied denying himself his vision.

When Daxter interferes the big Ulfen is visibly disappointed and

considers holding him back but decides against it. The young wizard would have to learn the meaning of honor eventually.

"Dax, you may think we are all just meatheads but this something he has to do. A warrior can't turn down a challenge like that. Give them their space".

Delay. Fatigue round 2/4.

"Yes he can. When he dies here, it will be pointless. Even you are smart enough to realize that. There will be no honor in his death."

The Exchange

"You have no right to speak. You pick on the weak and the helpless. Torturing them before you murder them. Their spirits walk the world never able to rest because of you. To top it off, you take advantage of the poor fool's misguided sense of honor. There is no risk for you to duel him. You have your most powerful magics to protect you. All the semiorc has is his katana and his heart. I am just trying to make it a fair fight."

The Exchange

"At the very least, I am going to even up the odds. We are a team, the rest of you have forgotten that, apparently."

The Exchange

"You all are willing to let Takuma die? For what? A duel where he is clearly outmatched?" He says deriding his allies for their lack of concern.
