Davio walked out of the fighting pit. He slinked down the streets and saw the same sights he saw every day. Children huddled, families broken, the powerful presence of the Hellknights... There must be something more here. Life wasn't meant to be this way.
There was once a time that he believed he could have become a glorious champion of Iomedae, but that time was long past. Davio made one crucial mistake, one thing that sent his life spiraling, and he spent every day trying to forget it. Whether it was through the blood of the fights, or charity for whatever urchin passed, he knew he would not be given another chance to be that person and he should accept his lot in life. Hopelessness was common in these parts as the black sky and grey aura of it all reminded him every day.
That was until he heard of the legendary Council of Thieves. The whispers came to him after a fight. He was meant to kill his opponent but with some twist of fate the fight was stopped before the killing blow went down. He thought nothing of it at first but afterwards he received a small ember of hope. The other fighter slipped him a small note:
They exist
Davio kept walking but instead of going down the street he traveled hundreds of times he stopped. There was another road to travel, and maybe he could one day find redemption.
Hope rides alone in this place, but maybe it doesn't have to.
If he was willing to punish himself for his fall, the least he could do was make it worthwhile. It was dangerous, but that was every day for some people here.
And it was time for change.
Belief: I am a tool. I can be used for good or bad. I am my own hand. I decide.
Goal: There's something wrong with this world. People shouldn't be afraid to just live. The boot of society is crushing people... and this isn't right. I may not be able to stop everything, but perhaps there's a better world somewhere here; I will find it and I will find my hope and redemption in the process.
Instinct: I may doubt myself, but I will always do what is right.
