should be one of those.

Using Windows 10, PCGen 6.08.00 RC8 it works for me.

Start PCGen
Advanced
search for Core and add to right side
search for Mythic and add Mythic Adventure, then add Mythic Origin.
LOAD

If this doesn't work, please provide Operating System, PCGen level, Java level

PCGen v6.08.00 RC8 and loading Pathfinder RPG for Game Masters. Start a new character, Templates, Vampire is there. Select it and it shows the Prerequisites.

In order to add the Lich Acquired Template, you have to create an evil character, level it to whatever level you want, then select templates and in the list of templates will be lich. Add that and you have a lich <whatever>.

I just did it using an NPC Drow Necromancer 9th level.

Did you make the changes that I suggested?

Character Traits Web Enhancement

Additional Resources

Character Traits - Web Enhancement is the first link.

Additional Resources - Lists the ones that are valid for PFS play (for instance, adopted is not and rich parents are not. I have not looked over at the others.)

-- david

Yup, that is why I created a personal copy. I have been a home game DM for a very long time and have been thinking about getting into PFS, but the gazillion options always turned me off.

Now with CORE only, I may change my mind and DM just that.

Also, if you would like to make it official, open a Jira (jira.pcgen.org) and request it as a data freq and someone should work on it. We have a guy that does a lot of the PFS "thingies" (<- technical word here).

-- david

My understanding, which is always subject to being wrong, is that when the Web Enhancement - Character Traits came out, it was for 3.5, not PFRPG, so that is why it is listed under 3.5.

I have cobbled up two files, one the "master" .pcc for CORE PFS, and one the traits .lst file for the web enhancement. Now, I will make them available with the following caveats:

1) You have to put it under your Custom data directory.
2) You WILL have to edit it to make sure it works for your PCGen setup.

I put it on Dropbox, and will leave it there for a week or so: Zip File

1 person marked this as a favorite.

For the brave (or is it foolhardy) two changes;

1) eliminate an error showing up in the console:
file:
C:\PCGen60500\data\pathfinder\paizo\roleplaying_game\mythic_adventures\ma_f eats.lst
line: 64
remove "PREABILITY:1,CATEGORY=Mythic Tier,Mythic Tier 04"
change "PREVARGTEQ:MythicLevel,1" to "PREVARGTEQ:MythicLevel,4"

2) allows the selection of mythic tiers after tier 1:
file:
C:\PCGen60500\data\pathfinder\paizo\roleplaying_game\mythic_adventures\ma_a bilities.lst
line: 6
change "CHOOSE:NUMCHOICES=1|STRING"etc to "CHOOSE:NUMCHOICES=10|STRING"etc

If you do this, all warranty is invalidated, no refunds, ymmv. Make sure you use a plain text editor such as Notepad in windows.

Always add tier 1 first, click ok, then double click tier level and add tier 2, click ok, double click tier level and add tier 3, etc.

-- david

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Mythic levels are "bolt-ons" in that they do not depend on XP, but are just given out by the DM so they do not follow the "normal" process of giving levels.

Load PCGen and the books that you want. Make sure you load the Mythic Adventures dataset from the advanced screen.

Create your character. When you want to add Mythic Levels do the following:

On the "Feats & Abilities" tab, "Mythic Abilities" subtab, select "Mythic Tier" on the right side. On the left click on "Mythic Tier" and then double click on Mythic Level. Add the 1.
Mythic Feat, Mythic Path, Mythic Path Ability and Mythic Path Feature should now be selectable on the right side. Add as needed.

All the above said, there is some kind of bug and I do not have time right now to figure it out. Post to the PCGen Yahoo group or open a Jira and the head data monkey might be able to take a detailed look at it.

-- david

Understand that the typo is on Paizo side. I was hoping that the HeroLab folks would be able to pick up the phone and say, "ok which one is correct?" to the Paizo folks. If not, I guess they picked the one that made most sense to them. And that is ok with me also.

If I change PCGen(*) to match HeroLab, then either we both are correct in our interpretation or we are both wrong, but at least we are consistent with each other.

-- david

* Right now, PCGen removes *all* bonus feats, with a note to get with Paizo. My changing it will give back the 1st and 14th level bonus feat.

wraithstrike wrote:

I happened to have herolab open when I saw this post.

I created an 18th level monk and it only gave me 2 bonus feats.
The feats gained at 2, 6, 10, and 18 and replaced.

The feats at level 1 and level 14 are retained.

wraithstrike wrote:
There is no bonus feat at level 12. I am assuming they meant to say it replaces the bonus feat at level 10.

Thank you for the information.

I was hoping that HeroLab, being an "official" product would have more access to the developers for these "typo" type issues.

Posting from my "PCGen Alias".

I have received a PCGen bug report concerning the Monk Sensei archetype and while investigating it, have found a conundrum.

The PRD Monk Table lists Monk bonus feats at 1, 2, 6, 10, 14, 18 level.
The PRD Sensei archtype removes bonus feats at 2, 6, 12(?), 18 level.

It is been FAQ requested, but not answered. Or at least I can not find an answer on the boards or in the FAQs.

I was wondering how HeroLab handles this, ie. do they remove 10 or 14 or both or neither?

-- david

Posting from my "PCGen Alias".

Yes, we are "behind" on books. Currently there are 31 NEWSOURCE open requests, of which 18 are from Paizo material (Link).

Remember this is an all volunteer open source project. If you have a specific book / request, PM me and I will either open a Jira (request) or point you to the open one, and you can follow the status of it.

You will get a faster answer by going to the Yahoo Group, but if you want to state what you want exactly I will help you thru it.

You will need to be able to create a .lst file using a text editor (Notepad, Metapad, or other) and learn a simple syntax.

-- david

Distant Scholar is correct. Really doesn't matter which line it is after. I said 628 so it would fall in with the rest of the level 0 witch spells.

As far as editors, I use Crimson Editor myself for editing PCGen files.

-- david

The easiest way to do this (not the best) is to edit the following file:

@\data\pathfinder\paizo\roleplaying_game\advanced_players_guide\apg_spells. lst

and insert a line after line 628:
Ray of Frost.MOD CLASSES:Witch=0

(tabs between the .MOD and CLASSES:)

Two "problems" with doing it this way. Every witch will have access to this spell, but you can remove it via double left clicking on it in the known section, and also every time you update PCGen you will have to make this modification again. The correct / best way to create a home brew with the winter witch archetype in it or wait for the Inner Sea Magic to be done, or the Reign of Winter Players Guide to be finished.

Jira's here:
Inner Sea Magic
Reign of Winter Players Guide

Both of them have active data monkeys.

-- david

Ah, I completely misunderstood. I thought you were seeing the archetype and not being able to add the spell. My bad. Let me look at it, and I'll get back to you. This will entail coding up at least something in the home brew folder, as there is no other way to do it.

-- david

Inner Sea Magic is not in your loaded list. Please send me the .pcg file to

Spoiler:
papa_drb@yahoo.com
and I will take a look at it.

-- david

edit: Inner Sea Magic is not in the download for 6.2. It is still being worked on. How are you seeing the Winter Witch Archetype? I think you are really selecting the Winter Patron, and they are not the same thing.

Which data sets to you have loaded? and I am assuming you are using PCGen 6.02.00 (either RC2 or Production).

-- david

edit: Do you mean winter patron?
edit2: I think you mean the winter witch archetype from the Reign of WInter Players Guide, right? If yes, it looks like it has not been coded up. Please open a Jira and someone will look into it, thanks.

Yea, that looks like it....

It is still in very early alpha and not distributed with the program. If you would like to code it yourself, head over to the PCGenLstFileHelp Yahoo group and someone will be able to help you code it up. Looks somewhat easy,

Any way to make a PC Aasimar Paladin of the Holy Light without having to use the Pathfinder for GM's source? With the Pathfinder for GM's source I cannot load an Paladin Archetype in the Archetype tab(Warrior of the Holy Light). And with the PC(advanced or not) source I cannot load an Aasimar.

Any help?

Start PCGen. Switch from the Basic Tab to the Advanced Tab for loading files. Make sure you are in Pathfinder RPG mode (upper left). Remove, by double-clicking all entries in the right window pane. Select, by double-clicking from the left pane, under Paizo, Core Rulebook, Bestiary 1, and Advanced Players Guide so they are now in the right pane. Load them.

The options you are looking for are now available.

How do you make custom classes in the latest version 6.00.00?

i don't see a LST editor

Read the posts on the first page, starting with the initial post. The editor was removed, and will be put in at a later level as it was woefully out of date. Some of the other posts tell how to use a text editor, and about the homebrew sub-directory to create you own custom classes.

Also, within the help structure are the lst file classes and I believe that one of them is for classes. Also you can ask on the Yahoo group.

are these just updates on the current project, so nothing is available for use or am i just failing at the internet?

Blood of Angels has been requested, but no volunteer is working on it, so the lst files do not exist yet.

Advanced Race Guide has been requested, LegacyKing is actively working on it, and letting a few folks pre-alpha test the pieces that he has done, so it is not available to the general public yet.

You could pretty easily make a Versatile human LST entry. Hack something together using the current human as an example.

As a side note I don't understand why this program uses LST files instead of a relational SQL DB or at very least XML. LST files are tedious :(. And OMG you guys love tabs haha :)...why is every entry is so massively tab inflated? Hard to read often times due to that.

I am not one of the monkeys, just a long-time fan.

Anytime you have years of development and effort into a project like this, it takes a lot of careful consideration to make changes as massive as you refer to. Yes, it might make sense to do it differently if you started the project today, but in this case, you are looking at supporting years of code and all those existing users - you can't rip and replace without a lot of grief. Since the project is completely supported by a limited pool of volunteers with other time constraints, change is best done gradually and carefully lest someone dive into a major overhaul and have RL sideswipe them and take them off the project - which I believe has happened with some monkeys.

I am sure they would welcome your contributions if you have time to code with them. And I've heard that some of the items you comment on have been reviewed, but it is a major architectural change, as I'm sure you can imagine.

Again, I am not a monkey, so this should be construed as an official response from them, just my view from the sidelines.

What he said!

XML was looked at before, but the massive overhaul would take so much time and we have precious little of that with volunteers anyway.

-- david

Edit; And the additional tabs in the files, I believe are from prettylst which all our data is run thru for checking and formatting.

Likely this is already a known issue, but in 6.00.00 when I tried to make a monk with the sensei archetype, it took away my 1st level monk bonus feat, when as far as I can tell, sensei only replaces 2nd level monk bonus feat. I don't think it activated the new class skills either.

At 2nd level, it didn't allow me to add my Wis to attack and CMB in lieu of Strength either--or couldn't find an option to do that anyway.

Haven't tried any of the new alphas.

Confirmed, and Jira, opened.

3) Is there any way for me to 'easily' make a custom feat. GM gave me the education feat from the Eberron book. All knowledge skills are class skills and a +1 to 2 of them.
4) Anyone working on the PFS field Guide? The Lore Warden is one of my favorite classes and it isn't in there that I can find.

1) Don't do printing, so someone else will have to help you with this, but I do understand. I created my own html sheet that uses larger type and the information that I want available.

I look through it and this is highlighted in red "and less than 1 of Paizo - Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Character Traits Web Enhancement must be already selected" so I go an add the Character Traits Web Enhancement and Advanced Player's Guide is STILL red and says the same thing.

Any ideas?

In the "Campaign Info" at the bottom, if you page down there is a "requirements" line. Please copy and paste it here.

Also, is this from scratch, ie. nothing is already loaded?

and the contents are:

-----
Hi folks,

Barely 24 hours after I allow 'no reporters' for Support Requests, we've had 3 instances of Spammer issues. I'm going to say this is unacceptable and not worth the tracker churn for the few users who *might* want to file a report without logging into the system. Which to date has been Zero Issues.

I'm turning off the access, as it's just not worth it. If we have some sorta of CAPTCHA for submitting only to one project, then I could accept that but at this time I just don't think it's worth having our JIRA system loaded up with pure nonsensical garbage that spam bots or users seem to think they need to flood our systems with.
-----

So if anyone has an issue, report it to me, either via PM or in this thread or the next one after the next version in released, and I will open the JIRA and keep up the communications.

===== Start Copied text =====
'jira.pcgen.org' you can now make a report without logging in - but only for Support Requests. We will move those Support Requests to the correct section, however, if you are not logged in, only a support request will allow you to make the report, attach issues, and comment, once it is moved, you'll no longer be able to comment or affect. This option is for those that don't want to be logged in. However, I highly recommend having an account with JIRA for follow up reports, otherwise you lose out on the logged in features - Notifications by Email for any issue you make, allowing the Monkeys to follow up with you.

The editor has been removed for PCGen 6.00.0. It will be re-added in 6.1 or 6.2. The reason is that the last production release was a long time ago and we needed to get a production release out, especially with the new UI. And the editor is in *very* *very* sad shape.

Actually using 3.5 mode, changed preferences to load sources with character.
