Ah, to read the fine print "and I have not been published as the author of a hardcover RPG book from any publisher." means that because I won a contest from another game publisher late last year I'm automatically disqualified from submitting material here?? That's most unfortunate....

If your name was not on the cover of the book, you're ok to enter.

Oops, still new at posting to this forum, replied to the wrong post. But question remains the same. I'm not on thr cover (no one is), just inside. Does that allow me to participate in this contest?

Thanks again,

David

Where's the rush? BD
Because there are only 5 days each for the remaining entries. Best to get started now, just in case. I wonder how many will win, only to drop out due to time constraints.

Ok, the cover does not have any of the authors, we're only listed on the inside of the pages. So, this makes me eligible to enter here? I'm just trying to make sure I get 100% clarification because I would hate to be disqualified somewhere else along the way provided I made it that far. Thank you very much for your time, Erik.

The judges are professional designers in their own right, I wouldn't be worried that they would be unfair in any way. Every entry will be given the same amount of time as another. There's no technical merit for getting an entry in first or last, other than if you make typos or think of something to add (and remain under the word limit). :) The only thing to really worry about is that instructions are followed and the entry is a true "wondrous item" by definition of the rules. But we've already had that tip from a judge, so relax and have fun. :)

Just yanking your chain. ;)

Congrats on winning the other contest (now shove over and let someone else win). See, there I go again!

What product was it, if you don't mind?

LOL I know, still disappointed though (but glad I read all the rules so I didn't look like a HUGE goob (just a small one). And thank you very much, it was such a shock really (and still is when I think about it). Well, without trying to promote "competing" game companies, open a copy of Bloodlines: The Chosen and you'll find me and my winning entry therein. :)

Oh, don't think I'm calling sour grapes or anything of the kind, I was very excited about particpating. I hardly consider myself a "game designer" by mere virtue of being a lucky winner of another contest, published or not, and was simply disappointed I'll be unable to share in this contest (whether I made it past round 1 or not). *shrug* life (and gaming) goes on... I guess this means I can focus on other writing projects instead, perhaps a blessing in disguise. :D
